Hahaha, good topic.
I've always wanted to do a fanvid version of theme tune of DuckTales with clips from The X-Files. I got the idea when I once watched the first movie, and there were shots with black helicopters. And then there was the snow-covered ground crumbling and I think Mulder tried to grab something so that he does not fall... both are very similar shots to those in the theme tune opening. I think I got inspired by this epic, hilarious fan vid — Star Trek TNG intro done in style of Dallas opening theme.
I also wanted to make a vid to Village People's "In the Navy" with clips from Horatio Hornblower. The song goes so well together with the Royal Navy from Napoleonic Wars and all the Ho Yay moments. Now, there is one vid with this idea, but it's combined with another song and it's about British navy vs. British army, but it could be done with the whole song and all the homoerotic subtext could be made into text. :-D
I have zero editing skills and currently no desire to work on this, but perhaps when I'm old and grey... :-D

I've always wanted to experiment with multifandom videos but with my personal ones instead. It'll stand out due to it being more Video game orientated than anything else.
I may throw in Vocaloid, Meghan Trainor, Marina & the Diamonds and maybe some Lana Del Rey for music fun

Cosmic human watches over a certain Meme universe.Hey, sorry for the double post. I had this idea that came to me recently.
I want to do this song with Galeem and Dharkon as the Princess. You can guess whom the ' Lady in waiting ' is.
I have a lot of ideas for fan-animations, but drawing and me don't mix at all. I've given thought to making a Multi-Animator Project studio for my ideas, but MAPs are too much trouble. Finding the music, organizing the animators, waiting months for everything to be organized...
It doesn't help that most MAP artists seem to only be interested in drawing cats, Warriors in particular. I wish there was more diversity in the MAP community. There are a lot of good artists but everyone focuses on one fandom.
On fanvid ideas, I'm still waiting for a Nick/Judy video set to "I know I'm a Wolf".

Some I've had for years:
- Avatar: The Last Airbender, particularly the finale, with this cover of "I See Fire"
- An animatic of "Stay Alive (Reprise)" with Asgore, Toriel, and Asriel
- "Work This Body" with Rin Matsuoka
[Forget this, I found a much better idea later]
Definitely the weirdest and most niche ideas I ever had were "Meant to be Yours" and "Hopes and Dreams" with Kado: The Right Answer characters.

They/them or she/herI really want to do a video of Arrowverse villains set to this:
So far I know I want Deathstroke as Scar, Zoom as Frollo with Caitlin as Esmeralda, Non as Gaston with Indigo as Lefou, and Malcolm Merlyn as Gothel (with Thea in Rapunzel's role).
Molly Kate Kestner's "Prom Queen" set to Alpha Bitch characters seems like an easy choice considering that song has been going around in the fanvid community, but I can't find any. Most videos focus at most on the Academic Alpha Bitch archetype.
I thought about putting Showtunes/Broadway and Poptropica together.
I have a few songs in mind for this game. I have some from Mean Girls for each island and characters.
Cosmic human watches over a certain Meme universe.x5- Funnily enough, I had an idea for a Harry Potter fan-animation- a Bellatrix Lestrange crackvid set to this:
I originally thought of just editing clips together, but well...there aren't that many clips of Bellatrix, and I don't think they'd be able to capture the over-the-top style that this song demands.

Gender differences aside, I'm lowkey shocked that no one's done a fanvid of Azula set to 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King.'
True, but considering there are fanvids set to it featuring Scar, Emperor Palpatine, and Grimmjow...really, I just think it'd make for a great crackvid.

Oh, a crackvid. That would make much more sense.
They/them or she/herI would LOVE to do a vid of various David Lynch works set to "Closer" (or perhaps a different NIN song), especially if it's super surreal.
"Cold and black and infinite, with nothing left to lose."Ok so whenever I listen to "The blessed Messiah and the tower of AI" by Hitoshizuku-P (Vocaloid) I keep thinking of the Seven plus Thalia, Nico and Bianca from the Percy Jackson books.
First boy with the water? Percy. Second person with the fire? Leo. Older sis with the light? Bianca. Younger sibling with the darkness? Nico. Earth priest? Hazel. Poet humming the thunder? Thalia. Dancer dancing with the gales? Jason. Unsure about who the frozen and the magma would be and not sure about the Messiah/seamstress either, but damn it fits so perfectly so far.

Found the perfect cover for my hypothetical crackvid mentioned above:
A JoJo's Bizarre Adventure AMV with either the Super Smash Bros. Brawl theme or "Lifelight". The former is so short, though, it would be hard to fit every JoJo into it... Maybe using footage from Eyes of Heaven because the songs are from a Fighting Game series?
They/them or she/herOne that came to me last night: Dumbledore's Army with "Revolting Children" from Matilda:
Another Azula-centric one: maybe with this version of Viva La Vida?
I know these are both from 2012 (well, the anime is), but I need to see an animatic of "Little Talks" with Jonathan and Erina.
They/them or she/herI had an awesome idea for a Dracula fan vid about the various iterations of Dracula.
Specifically, it would focus on Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, and Gary Oldman's portrayals of Count Dracula.
The song would be "Love Song For A Vampire" by Annie Lennox, originally used in the 1992 Dracula.

If I had the software to do so, I'd even include Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate at the very end of the song, right when it says "And set this spirit free..."
Lover of anime, video games, old-school Rock & Roll music, yaoi, horror, motorcycles, classic cars, trains, and historical fictionI keep wanting to do a video of Grizabella from Cats set to "God Help The Outcasts", perhaps as an animatic where the characters are more like regular cats.
Because it doesn't quite fit under "fanfic ideas" and there aren't many other places here to discuss fanvids.
I don't currently have any editing skills, but I'm really tempted to do a crackvid of Nyssa Al Ghul and Sara Lance set to this female cover of "You'll Be Back".
