• Both are, obviously, white female cats who wear pink ribbons

• Both come from countries where English is not the main language spoken (Marie is from France and Yuki is from Japan)

• Both are from movies that were distributed by Disney.

Some key differences

• Marie was a pet who grew up in a wealthy household; Yuki grew up on the streets.

• Unusually for a Disney heroine, Marie does not end up married to a prince- but Yuki does!

• Marie can't talk to humans from what we see, but Yuki can.

The key differences being:

• Assuming we don't count his weird thing with Nala in the Broadway version, Scar has no official canon love interest.

• While Kovu does have a seemingly dark and brooding exterior, he, unlike Scar, is a good guy.

• Kovu has a much better relationship with his siblings.
