Discussion Thread Roleplay Thread

"Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past."

"Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness - creatures of destruction; the creatures of Grimm - set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void."

"However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named Dust."

"Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life."

"But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die, and when they are gone... darkness will return."

"So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called 'free world', but take heed... there will be no victory in strength."

"Welcome to Beacon! Each and everyone of you has the potential to become a Huntsman or Huntress, guardians of peace and order in our world of Remnant."

"Unfortunately, without the proper knowledge and training, that potential is wasted. That's where we come in. Here in Beacon, we will train and hone your potential, until you are the best Hunter you can be."

"But be forewarned, this is not a regular combat school. You can, and will die if you don to take this seriously."

"With that said, let the school year begin!"

- Professor Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy.

By now, you know what this RP is about. But for those of you unaware, Welcome to Beacon: Next, Final Rondo is a Freeform Roleplaying Game set in Rooster Teeth's RWBY setting (Or what I shorthand as Remnant), with major liberties taken to the source material. I am KR Vandal, the GM of this whole business. Due to some contradictions and creative difference with current story elements and those set down in other games, there will be a significant streamlining to make the game move faster.

If you've followed the game since I took up the mantle, my story elements definitely still apply, though I will try and maintain a lighter and softer tone, as was the wish of the First GM. As accords to the wish of my predecessor, most of his elements are to be cut away or at least put on the shelf until they're important. Thus, a proper fresh start for all.

All the rules of the TV Tropes RP Forum are in place. As with certain R Ps I put my name to, I would also love my players' help in better fleshing out the world and making it fun for all involved.

What? Did you think I was just done with his tale?

Name: Merrick Gage. What are the three primary colors you see on a motorcycle gauge?

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Birthday: Ignis 12

Race: Human

Appearance: Standing just a hair over 6'1, Merrick Gage weighs in at a wiry 190 lbs. Favoring a dark gakuran-style jacket and slacks that match, he keeps his messy blonde hair tied under a red bandanna (which has a pattern reminiscent of a hawk in flight). Gage's face is narrow and handsome in a rough sort of way, with green eyes that wink and shift as if scanning his surroundings for opportunities. Underneath the jacket, he prefers yellow t-shirts (Tora Style) while his socks are green (he favors Hopper brand socks).

Weapons and Equipment: To supplement Gage's natural brawling capabilities, he has been given the Variable Response Suit, Mk. XII. Also known as the Chained King, it is the fruit of a series of stringent tests and brilliant research developed by elements formerly associated with the leading names in Dust Application technology and mechanical engineering.

Utilizing the current advancements in artificial intelligence all wired into a strange-looking belt called the Crown Driver, accessory in question controls and activates each part of the suit as it fits itself on to its wielder. Once Gage activates the suit by way of the special key built into his Scroll (which he slots on to the belt), that is when the Chained King reveals its glory.

Utilizing a modified version of the school's lockers (in agreement with the Beacon faculty), Gage makes for a versatile combatant with the form below:

  • Vanguard Mode - The default fighting form of the Chained King. It enhances Gage's strength, speed and durability in combat. Primarily armed with what he's dubbed the "Chain Shoota" which uses available scrap metal as ammunition. The weapon in question is combination scrap launcher/buzz saw which takes the form of a pistol shaped like the front end of a motorcycle. Gage's aim is somewhat terrible.

The brain trust have other forms and weapons already in development, but until Gage proves himself, he will make due with the single form.

Lastly, this shadowy body has seen fit to improve Gage's old bike, a Hornet cruiser almost half junk parts, with two upgrades; one, a remote homing beacon tuned in to the belt and two, widened capacity to fit the Chained King's dormant form. Once he sends a pulse, the Hornet makes all haste to get to its user.

Semblance: Aura Switch - Gage is capable of switching places with any single Aura-generating being in a radius of 30 ft. Aside from the usual limitations of Aura, Gage may only switch with something that generates an equal amount of Aura as he does. He must also have line of sight with the person or thing he's shifting with. Anything that blocks Aura or his line of sight will cancel the Semblance.

Personality: Gage has always tried to walk the straight and narrow path. You know that jazz; help your fellow man, don't steal. It's just... The crooked path is fun. Gage can be selfish, lazy, and perfectly willing to profit from his fellow man's gullibility, but he'll always step up when it's time to face the music. Surrender doesn't exist in his vocabulary and every gang he's run with can attest to him having their backs in thick or thin.

Bio: Formerly a shiftless delinquent from Vale's lower classes, Merrick Gage ran afoul of the Chained King Project when he impulsively stole a truck from an SDC shipping facility. In the ensuing chase, he crippled their candidate when the poor man attempted to save a father and daughter from being run over. Seeing that he almost turned all three into road pancakes, the delinquent decided that enough was enough.

He turned himself in and readied himself for a long period behind bars, until a lawyer in a nondescript suit came to him with a proposition. Anyone else would have just cut and run, but Merrick Gage, upon seeing what harm his joy ride caused, turned around to take his punishment like a man. Seizing upon his moral fiber, they came to him with a proposition: take up the Chained King, the candidate's Beacon application, and fight the good fight!

Or refuse and prepare to learn how to start making shivs... To Gage, the choice was obvious.

Other Notes: Merrick Gage already has a sizable juvenile record. Apart from the single counts of Grand Theft Auto and Reckless Endangerment, he has been tagged for several counts of Public Indecency, Public Disturbance, Petty Larceny and one count of Littering.

The most important person in Gage's life is his mother, Marlene. As of the moment, she is employed as a cashier in a Midtown Vale theater.

The Chained King draws inspiration from a load of places; chiefly the new designs from the Cyborg 009 movie, the color scheme of the TaToBa Combo, as interpreted by Mirage from Astro City, and hints of Kamen Rider. Like all of it.

  • Name: Scarlet Amagi
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 17
  • Birthday: Aurum 7th
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Six foot and muscular with bright red hair and fire-colored eyes. She wears a battle outfit that looks like it came straight out of Mad Max with a bit more armor plating. She also has a variety of skull masks and helmets that she dons for special occasions.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Blaze v2: A variable length heat-chain/spear i.e. A spear that can separate into a sectioned chain which can catch fire in both spear and chain form, as well as having the ability to extend slightly more than it's typical 6 feet in chain form due to the steel wire that connects the sections.
    • Vengeance(Technical name, Scarlet just calls it "baby", not that she'd tell anyone that little fact): A motorcycle with dual mini-rocket launchers attached to the sides, a built in battering ram, the ability to ride on walls and the ceiling and all remotely controlled from Scarlet's arm console if she isn't riding the bike.
  • Semblance: Dragon's breath: She can breathe fire from her mouth without much control. It also passively heats up the air around her when she's agitated. She's also recently discovered this makes her fire-proof, though she still feels the heat itself.
  • Personality: Rough, tumble and ready to ride. Perfectly willing to fight if you give her a half-decent excuse. She'll chase any goal to the ends of the earth if she sets her mind to it. That being said she can be sweet, but that takes some work to get past her fire-y shell.
  • Bio: Raised in the inner city she didn't know a whole lot about Grimm, but she knew a fair bit about criminals, since her dad was a cop. The first time she saw what a Grimm could do was when her old man tracked a perp to a Grimm-filled forest. The criminal got away, but her father didn't. Scarlet enrolled in a combat school the next day, both to protect others from the fate of her father but also to perhaps find the criminal that caused her so much pain. She's been trying since she arrived with Beacon to be less constantly angry and more open with her teammates, without much success which has caused her more pain than she'd care to admit.

-dramatic music ensues-

  • Name: Azure Reisentoter
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 18
  • Birthday: Ventus 5th
  • Race: Faunus
  • Appearance: Azure is a tall, slender woman with long flowing blue hair that she tends to wear in clumped together plaits. She tends to wear a simple garb, a leather chestpiece combined with a long, wool almost kilt that goes from her stomach down to her knees. She wears simple straps of leather around her insteps. Her arms and legs are covered with scars, though notably? She wears two helmets, the first is her 'casual' one, which is merely a set of headphones with a large black blindfold that covers everything from her forehead down to her nose. Her second helmet encases her entire head and resembles a deer skull-a tribute to her faith.
  • Weapons and Equipment: Surt and Ymir: A pair of long swords that Azure wears strapped to her back, both are infused with certain types of dust. Surt is infused with firedust while Ymir is infused with ice dust.
  • Semblance: Much like her father's, Azure's semblance is a passive ability that is permanently on. Her senses are increased to an almost maddening degree. Her sight is good enough to see through the microscopic holes in the leather and hear through the ear muffs. Without them, she is able to hear everything within ten miles and see a fly at four miles away in a straight field. Her sense of touch allows her to feel vibrations in the floor. Making her practically impossible to surprise. That said, without anything blocking her ears and eyes, Azure will quickly succumb to sensory overload and will go catatonic.
  • Personality: Azure's had to deal with restriction her entire life. As such, she's incredibly sarcastic, always seeking to pass her own body's weaknesses. She's harsh, biting and frankly a little emotionally stunted. However, she does want the best for everyone, even if it's just a miniscule thing, it's just that a life of being coddled has left her a little confused. Azure enjoys cooking, fighting and dancing. She hates being taken care of and being touched (though admittedly, her knack for telling emotions by feeling one's heartbeat makes this a tad hypocritical.)
  • Bio: In the Wylde Hunt, the followers of Tyr must be strong and resilient. Azure's father was the patriarch of the hunt, one of the strongest and as his only child a lot of pressure was on Azure. She would fight other children and was easily among one of the better fighters of her generation. Unfortunately, her semblance quickly shut that down when a simple foot step was deafening as a gunshot when a simple candle was a blinding sun. Azure went from the most respected of her class to being the one everyone looked down at, everyone pitied. This made her angry, so she went hunting to desperately prove her own worth and she failed again and again. Until, after being saved by her father, a family friend sent her a gift; something that would help her establish that she was her father's daughter. In the months since she's gained her helmet, Azure has once more been able to regain some part of respect, both from her clan and from herself.

Name: Oxley Radeke (apparently Oxley is a color, #6D9A79, a gray-ish shade of green)

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Birthday: Finem 3

Race: Human

Appearance: Close to six foot with long black hair kept tied back in a ponytail, Oxley's most notable feature is the significant scarring on his right hand. He comes from a tiny village on the frontier and looks the part: his battle attire is little more than a heavy cloth jerkin over long clothes, and most of his clothing has obvious signs of wear and tear from daily use.

Weapons and Equipment:

  • Cor Unum is Oxley's primary weapon, which has four different forms. Its standby form is a large cylinder with a strap that he uses to carry it on his back, resembling a scroll case. Its base combat form is a simple extension of the cylinder into a staff, with one end being able extend and sharpen to a point to form a javelin while the other can shift into a warhammer head. Cor Unum is designed to almost eliminate dust usage, allowing him to go long periods without reloading but lacking the option to further augment his attacks with dust.
  • Oxley keeps several knives on him in combat situations, providing him a close combat option.

Semblance: Implacable. Upon striking a living being, Oxley marks them with a small fragment of his aura. He moves significantly faster when going towards the marked creature and, when near them, resists the kinetic force of most blows that would otherwise move him (how much the blow taxes his aura is not reduced). The piece of his aura is recalled when the target dies, they get beyond 100 feet from him, or he spends a moment in concentration to force it back to himself. The effect of his semblance diminishes rapidly with distance: run straight towards his target and he'll get a significant boost, but at a 30 degree angle there's almost no difference, and while he's nearly immovable except by the strongest blows if he's right on top of his mark go beyond about ten feet and he gets flung around like anyone else.

Personality: A life of constant danger and stress has left its mark on Oxley, and he tends to be rather reserved with people he meets; he's seen enough death to be cautious about getting close to people. He puts in effort to treat others politely, even if he remains somewhat distant, trying to avoid offense almost to a fault. Compared to his usual demeanor, the intensity he displays when fighting can be a shocking contrast: he's at Beacon to fight Grimm and become a huntsman, and he puts his all towards that single goal.

Bio: Born in the small village of Bullmar far from Vale, Oxley has been fighting Grimm since he was old enough to hold a weapon. Too far from any large towns and lacking any important resources, the village was been left to live or die entirely by its own merits, existing entirely self-sufficiently. When he was twelve, Oxley put together some scrap metal and what parts and dust he managed to buy from a wandering salesman to create a makeshift hunter weapon and took it upon himself to keep the area around his family's farm clear of Grimm. While he lacks formal combat schooling, his skills learned fighting for his life were sufficient to get him into Beacon, and he intends to return home a full huntsman, defending the town from Grimm so that the others can do something more with their lives.

Trying to decide between two characters or if I should try to combine the two in some way. ...Looking at it now, I'll save that for when the RP progresses rather than now. Anyway, sheet time.

  • Name: James/Croire Ferric
  • Gender: Male.
  • Age: 19 on the forms, just barely 17 in actuality.
  • Birthday: ...Oddly enough, that part on the entrance form is smudged and impossible to discern...
  • Race: Human.
  • Appearance: Take your pick. Either way, he's about 5'6 and definitely on the scrawny/lean side with very little muscle and is either wearing glasses or goggles. Always.
...He's got perfect eyesight without his glasses, surprisingly enough.
  • Weapons and Equipment: Sunset V0.9a- A weapon designed and created by himself, it looks like an ornate longsword on the surface, but is a multi-purpose weapon that shifts between different modes with a press of a button on the hilt making it more than a simple blade. The mechanism causes the blade edges to split apart and reveal an energy cannon which can either fire mid-range blasts or throw pinwheels of energy that attack from a distance. At the moment, it has three modes. Blade Mode (basically the default form), Cannon Mode (think Wave-Motion Tuning Fork ), and Grappling Hook/Aura Chain Mode which fires a chain of Aura/Energy or a literal chain from the upper part of Sunset with the end shifting into a hook and latches onto a surface. At the moment, the last feature is still untested and the weapon as a whole is constantly fine-tuned and tweaked.

  • Semblance: Résoudre! (Resolve)/Aura Surge > Arme de lumière! (Blade/Weapon of the Soul/Light)- While most people would be able to use their semblance and Aura at will, James doesn't exactly have any knowledge of what his is yet as it's yet to actually manifest itself so he doesn't have the luxury to use it on a whim with it triggering only in dire circumstances which leaves him considerably vulnerable unless it kicks in.

    • When it does, however, his Aura levels flare up and spike dramatically to the point of being constantly recharging energy source, giving him a small boost to his mobility and offense...but making his ability to shrug off damage skyrocket as crippling or even potentially fatal injuries are healed from the surge of Aura or easier to ignore the pain from the critical ones. In truly critical do-or-die situations, the surge of energy allows him to make the excess power into a sort of physical form by turning it into blades of light and control them at will.

    • Of course, the drawback for such a constant overcharge of power means he needs to finish the fight quickly as he has just as much difficulty stopping his semblance as he does triggering it unless all of the potential threats/dangers have been dealt with. At best, he can sustain the state for one and a half minutes, two if he's desperate. Any longer than that and the constant outflow of power starts to actually corrode which means things can go downhill for him health-wise fast.

  • Personality: James is polite, level-headed and intelligent with a priority to put others before himself. Although when you look past the facade to and attempts to be social, when he's not in class or on a mission, he's not quite capable of completely hiding his lack of confidence in himself being rather he's shy and quiet with being prone to stutter when embarrassed. Having said that, he has a strong moral compass and will stand his ground when it comes to doing the right thing and dealing with stuck up nobles or faunus hating bigots brings out a a surprising amount of ire and barbed retorts.
  • Bio: To say there's a lot of contradicting elements of James' background would be a bit of an understatement. Most would assume that his knack with technology meant he'd hail from Atlas, yet there seem to be no records of his family or next of kin there, let alone anyone with his name there or in the other Kingdoms for that matter and his fingerprints and appearance weren't on any data by the authorities so at the very least he hasn't got a criminal record. Some people say he's an heir to a family's fortune that kept him hidden and sheltered from the world until sending him to Beacon to bring more glory for their name once he becomes a successful hunter. Others say he's from a family that had nothing and made him attend the Academy as it'd be a better life than what he had. With the young man's being silent on the entire matter, any answers to the questions being asked will likely take some time to appear...

The diamond lady is back!

  • Name: Dia Rayfer
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 17
  • Birthday: Cor 3rd
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Here, except with larger cup size.
  • Weapon: Corona. At first glance, Corona looks like 10 pieces of metal connected into a loop of sorts. However, the pieces can be formed into a staff, a chakram, and a dual-barelled gun. Each “piece” contains dust which can be easily distributed throughout the “loop”.
    • Staff: Corona's close-range mode, which Dia tends to provide a spearhead or blade via her Semblance. It can consume Dust to fire energy blasts from the tip, which can also propel the spearhead at extremely high speeds to pierce a Grimm's armour. Dia can also pierce a Grimm's armor with the spearhead, then split the spearhead into two to tear the wound apart.
    • Chakram: Corona's anti-area weapon mode, which Dia enhances with crystal razor blades on its edge. Dia manipulates the crystals after throwing it, allowing it to "home" in on foes and boomerang back to her. Dia cannot concentrate on other crystals when she's manipulating the Chakram form of Corona to home in.
    • Gun: Corona's ranged mode. It can fire out powerful dual blasts, and can also be charged up to fire a single combined shot which uses up more dust. Dia can provide crystal ammunition for it, which allows armor-piercing capabilities.
  • Semblance: Crystal Clear. Dia can create and manipulate supernaturally tough and sharp crystals from her Aura.
    • Creation: Using her Aura, Dia can create Aura Crystals. The size of the crystals can range from small particles to larger objects. Larger cystals use up more aura. Dia's max. Aura is enough to create approximately 0.5 metre cube of Aura crystal (Creating something that size in one go from full aura will leave her completely drained). This pairs up well with Corona, allowing Dia to enhance it by giving its staff form a spearhead/blade, her chakram a sharp edge, and her gun with crystal shard bullets.
    • Movement: As Dia's crystals are an extension of her Aura, she can move them around by shifting it. This normally does not cost much Aura, but for her Crystals to move objects that aren't her Crystals (e.g. herself, or Corona's Chakram form), the amount of Aura needed increases depending on the mass of the object moved. Dia can propel herself for evasive movements or increased speeds using this thanks to some crystals she had put in her clothing/boots, but cannot use it too often since it costs Aura. Finally, Dia can concentrate on her crystals to get them to block enemy attacks, but this prevents her from moving her crystals for offensive purposes or using her crystal sensing power.
    • Destruction: Dia can disintegrate any volume of her crystals if need be by dissipating the Aura they're made of.
    • Sensing: Dia can monitor any pressure exerted on her Aura crystals within a radius, the size depends on her concentration. If she concentrates too much on this, she can't move her crystals around.
  • Weaknesses: Dia's fighting style tends to rely on her Semblance and Aura very often and hence tires out quickly if a fight drags on, making her easier to take down when it happens.
  • Likes: Creating crystal sculptures, ice cream, chocolate, justice against criminals, her self image, somebody who can protect her.
  • Dislikes: Kidnappers (or mention of her kidnappings), discrimination v.s. Nobility, those who take advantage of her.
  • Personality: Stoic, Cold yet polite on the outside, Analytical, somewhat Bossy and Prideful towards trusted teammates, Stubborn and Determined. Kind and protective underneath her cold exterior. However, Dia does exert her superiority of being a noble at times, which can be off-putting- this is how she tries to hide her weakness. Wants to make friends with others, as she feels they can protect her. Is concerned for the well-being of her teammates. Does not use exclamation marks in her speech. There is another side to Dia, though this only comes out whenever she's fighting Grimm or evildoers. But it is a side that... is best left alone.
  • Bio:
Born into a family of Atlasian nobles, Dia was a cheerful girl who led a sheltered lifestyle, and was a frequent target of kidnappers. Her crystal-generating semblance manifested at an early age, and this made her sought after by various criminals.

Throughout her life, many kidnappings had broke her. No longer was she the happy girl she used to be, but a rather cold natured teenager who chose to hide her feelings and trauma. Furthermore, it made her rather prideful and bossy towards more trusted allies- in reality, she wants to hide the feeling of weakness/helplessness that she had. However, these incidents also inspired Dia to become a Hunter- to protect herself, as well as to protect others from suffering her fate.

After learning about what the hunters could do, as well as their awesome weapons, Dia got her parents' consent and money to get parts for her weapon made and to hire a Hunter to train her in private. Under his special training, she learned how to use her Semblance for combat purposes- the very same Semblance that got her kidnapped would now be used to protect her.

A few years later, Dia enrolled in Beacon Academy, a few years after her family moved from Atlas to Vale. To learn how to be a Hunter, to move out of her sheltered world, and to find friends/partners who can protect her.

  • Name: Quan Wu (犬妩, last name convention)
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 17
  • Birthday: Tempestas 29th
  • Race: Faunus (dog-based, ears/tail)
  • Appearance: Acts before thinking.
  • Weapons and Equipment: Proto Enbu. This takes the form of two one-handed scatterguns, matte orange and jagged-like in appearance, one held in each hand. Absolutely rends anything point-blank, but quickly loses effectiveness at range. Can be conjoined at the barrel ends to morph into a two-headed glaive, bladed on both sides. Can also be conjoined at the grip ends for it to extend into what could be called a compound bow, which shoots very explosive and Dust-alterable projectiles.
  • Semblance: Triglav. Wu can manipulate the terrain around her a la telekinesis. While the range is somewhat short (~5m radius), her control can be pretty acute, such as lifting several chunks about the size of the standard human and colliding them on a single point, or causing a localised tremor to stagger enemies. For some reason the range is strictly defined as a sphere; any matter accumulated at the end of its range smooths out into a curved surface, and any thrown chunks will lose all their horizontal momentum once it reaches the edge.
  • Personality: Wu is your usual peppy, overly enthusiastic young girl, who can somehow get interested in nearly everything she encounters. Her vivaciousness leads her to make fast friends, though how energetic she can be could be overwhelming at times. She has an eye for making things as good as they could be for the people around her as well, often to a fault in the sense that she tends to stretch herself too thin trying to make everybody happy.
  • Bio:
    • As a denizen of the Vale's suburban middle class, she was subject to the discrimination Faunus tend to face; despite this, Quan Wu was a gentle soul, preferring to cling to those who regarded her kindly while shrugging off most of the bullying. Somewhere in her young mind was a doubt, though; there was no shortage of information about the threat the Grimm posed, and she always had a worry that she would be unable to protect her friends just as they stood up for her. Those worries would be proven right during a school camp, when a young Grimm assaulted her best friend one night.
    • Wu saw the beast rip and bite into her friend, blood spewing from the child's form, and their futile attempts to fend off the assailant, all while she merely stood still and silent in shock. Fortunately a Hunter in the area managed to drive away the beast and get her friend the help she needed, but they never made a full recovery.. At that point, she vowed to become a Huntress herself, and prevent tragedies like these from happening again.

  • Race: Human At least, on her official papers. This is, in fact, a blatant lie. She is a Fox Faunus – ears and tail the only visible traits.
  • Appearance: Exactly 5'5. Slim, athletic build, but this is disguised by the fact that she almost always wears thick hoodies and loose-fitting pants in order to hide her fox features.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Pummelgun: A pair of (rather inelegant and square-shaped) boxing gloves which can be directly tied in to her Semblance, with three forms – the aforementioned boxing gloves, a one-handed mace, and a miniature sniper rifle. In glove-mode, the knuckles are lined with razor-sharp spikes to inflict massive puncture damage. In mace-mode, a retractable handle extends out, the body of the gloves fuse together, and the spikes are reintegrated onto the weapon's head, adding to the previously mentioned puncture damage with a good ol' fashioned clonking to the noggin. In sniping-mode, the handle of the mace is repurposed into the barrel of the gun, while the head of the weapon is transmogrified into the main body much like with that of the default glove-mode. The spikes are partially combined – most of them connecting into one to form a bayonet – the others simply positioning themselves wherever the most aesthetically pleasing. As mentioned before, Nadia's Semblance can be directly channeled through her Pummelgun – either for short ranged or long ranged effect depending on its active mode.
    • Shootywirethingies: (Clearly, Nadia had run out of name inspiration at this point.) Nadia has a pair of external devices that can clip onto her Pummelgun's glove-mode – which can shoot out up to three pneumatically powered wires out of their respective barrels from spools stored within the main mechanism. The wires are strong enough to carry her weight (and only her weight, it should be noted – any passengers are at risk), and can be snipped off via a pair of small sharpened edges on the ends of the barrels for usage as tripwires or for simple binding purposes. The devices require gas canisters which have a very low capacity, unfortunately – due to the fact that she has sacrificed efficiency for discretion – and the actual spools themselves are quite limited as well. Still, Nadia likes to keep these up her sleeves (no pun intended) if only for emergencies.
  • Semblance:
    • Foxfire: Nadia's Semblance allows her to generate ethereal fire out of pure, concentrated Aura, which takes the appearance of bluish-white flames. She can channel it to her hands for either purely mêlée-focused strikes or for ranged attacks (she can throw them as projectiles up to fifteen metres before they "fizzle out") or cover her entire self in a thinner, much less potent coating in order to create a searing aura of fire. The flames are incredibly hot – having the same properties as high-heat plasma – and thus can melt through many surfaces and even cause explosions upon heavy contact. The flames also have electrical properties, which manifest primarily as stray arcs that trail across nearby surfaces – however this ability can only be used for up to five minutes at a time (ten if she's purely only using it to channel flames to her Pummelgun), and the obvious lack of hand usage in the meantime if she's channeling it to her fists may cause her to have to prematurely deactivate it out of necessity. Nadia mostly uses her Semblance only to make her punches and Pummelgun techniques more powerful, rarely channeling it across her entire body due to the risk of her draining her Aura and tiring herself out.
  • Personality: An initially hotheaded, brash outward appearance disguises an introverted, surprisingly shy and self-conscious girl trying desperately to "keep her drive going". Nadia has an inward fear of falling into isolation and solitary habits – as she knows such circular behavioural patterns only draw a person into further loneliness and even depression. Thus, she attempts to keep herself as extraverted and sociable as possible, even despite her mental tiredness from prolonged interaction – and her sarcastic, guarded demeanour hides a deep empathy and crippling social anxiety. While ultimately disliking conflict, Nadia isn't afraid to fight; her confident façade even projecting a warrior's enthusiasm and tenacity in battle, even if inwardly she couldn't feel more the opposite. Reluctant to reveal her state as a Faunus, Nadia insists with an incredible stubbornness to wear thick, concealing clothing, if only of her irrational shame towards her animalistic features. As such, she has gone to great lengths in insisting she is a normal human – even if it ends up causing greater problems for her later on.
  • Bio: Born in the lower-class areas of Vale, Nadia was very quickly made aware of the discrimination surrounding her kind – and while she had never experienced such bigotry firsthand like some of her fellow Faunus, her empathy towards her kin made her feel as if she was suffering alongside them. However, this empathy soon gave way to doubts of its rationality and genuineness, and she began to display self-disgust over her clear hatred towards the racism directed towards her kind yet showing no inclination of action to help halt it. She fell deeper and deeper into this self-inflicted depression until she eventually snapped – deciding to no longer be the antisocial, overly emotional weakling she had worked herself into believing herself to be in favour of becoming a more determined, active warrior for the dignity of her people. But when it came to practice, she found herself falling short – her mentally constructed image of what she wanted to be evidently ending up being too far off from what she currently was to realistically be able to get to. Nonetheless, this realisation did nothing to halt her, and with a high of sheer willpower she constructed a veil of confidence resembling her imagined future self, declaring it to be "just as good as the real thing". Naturally, though, this constant self-deception has only ended up adding to her stress, but she remains vigilant – electing to join Beacon in order to try and make her fantasy a reality as well as learn to gain a true strength under opposition, constructing a backstory as the daughter of a human weaponsmith to further verify her act. How long her façade will last remains to be seen.

Huh. I tend to improvise these sheets, so my first thought upon finishing this is "what the bloody hell do I do with this?!"

Ah well. Hopefully I'll slip into her mindset eventually. Or not.

  • Name: Auolish Chesterfield
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 17
  • Birthday: Umbra 31st
  • Race: Faunus (Owl-based)
  • Appearance: Auolish is 5 ft. 2 in. tall, weighs about 120 pounds, has short brown "hair" that upon closer inspection reveals itself to be many small feathers and yellow eyes. She wears a white short-sleeved button-up shirt under a brown leather jerkin, loose tan capris, a pair of sturdy combat boots, and a pair of goggles. Due to her Faunus nature, she has night-vision, but due to her owl traits, she is incredibly far-sighted and needs her goggles to see properly. Also, her eyes are extremely sensitive to bright light (especially when it's daytime), which is another reason why she needs her goggles.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Talonclaw: Talonclaw is a spear with a 5 ft. long shaft that can turn into a musket (bayonet included). It has been infused with Wind Dust. Auolish usually carries it in musket form, slung across her back.
  • Semblance:
    • Wings Of The Night: Auolish's Semblance grants her the ability to pass unnoticed, and muffles her breathing, heartbeat, and footsteps. This is not camouflage or invisibility—essentially, whatever is looking at her is tricked into thinking that she is either nondescript or belongs there. She gains a small speed boost in darkness. Her Semblance is passive and always on.
      • On the downside, Auolish sometimes has to go to painful lengths to be noticed by others. She was once mistakenly declared dead in her sleep because her parents thought her heart had stopped, and many other medical mishaps have stemmed from her troublesome Semblance.
  • Personality: Auolish is cheerful, outgoing, and sometimes mischievous, but she is rarely noticed being thus. Instead, people tend to see her as shy and studious. She is the latter, mind you, but the former...not so much. However, she's learned to use her this to her advantage, quietly gathering knowledge in the background with nobody the wiser. She wants to be noticed and be able to help people.
  • Bio: Auolish was born in Vale to a lower-class Faunus family, and was fortunate enough to have faced few instances of bullying in her youth. However, the area she lived in was rife with crime, and her family lived in constant fear of gangs and other unsavory things. When she was old enough, she declared an interest in becoming a Huntress, like her great-grandmother. Her parents refused because of the risk involved. She appeared to drop the subject, but later she was able to find her great-grandmother's weapon and train with it in secret until she felt confident that she was able to apply to Beacon Academy. And the rest is history.

what am i doing

  • Name: Rogaedyn Bruna
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 19
  • Birthday: 20th of Ignis
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: "I am the Flame. Let Darkness fear me." He's huge, standing at 7'2, but his frame is gaunt and thin, which is why he prefers wearing concealing clothes to not spook others. Speaking of, doesn't reveal his face, ever - he'll always have some sort of face covering and his riding goggles on - but his hair is short and ashen. (his eyes, meanwhile, are brown and dead)
  • Weapons and Equipment: Rogaedyn is a man who puts little faith in Huntsman "toys", preferring weapons with traditions.
    • Abaddon and Apollyon - Two heavy-duty revolvers. Originally ordinary Cobra Strikers - a model best associated with a rugged Vacuonese drifter of yore - they've since been remade many times over to suit his needs. Five-shooters, they can be loaded with just about any modern ammunition as well as more esoteric payloads such as customized Dust cartridges (can you say it with me: Flamenwerfer Revolver?)
    • Iblis and Solaris - Two antique flintlock pistols, carried for the sheer destructive power firing one implies. Like the revolvers, these have been heavily customized; chief difference being that they are fueled with Dust rather than blackpowder. On top of being able to fire surprising payloads like icicles or fireballs, it also makes them easier to maintain.
    • Hand of Gaia - The shiny and chrome break-action shotgun on his back, and Rogaedyn's ace in the hole. Carrying for long distances, it does not fire ordinary shells; for the Hand he makes Fingers himself (carried on his chest, as demonstrated). Each Finger is different, but every one of them carries his zeal and unadulterated hatred. For Grimm use-only; for the Hand to accuse (read: turn into mush) a fellow man, a crime most heinous must have been commited.
    • Judge - A length of ordinary steel chain normally wrapped around Rogaedyn's arm, unfurled for when there's a need for melee combat. He tends to use it like a knuckleduster most of the time to enhance his formidable strength; by his own admission however, he's not much proficient in melee.
    • Jury - Despite that, he's got a pair of shoe knives for kicking. Never hurts to be prepared.
    • Thundersteel - Rogaedyn's pride and joy, a fully operational clockwork pegasus. A perfectly fine-tuned machine that can carry him and up to two passengers, easily butt heads with APC's and large Grimm and ferry him into battle. Really attached to the thing, considering it his "best friend, second only to my guns".
  • Semblance: Quicksilver - By expending his Aura, Rogaedyn can crystallize objects into being. Small ones can be made permanent - in fact that's how he makes his Fingers - but bigger ones are temporary. Furthermore, trauma involved with the destruction of his village and the following spiral of auto-suggested hatred warped this power some; it seems these days all Rogaedyn can do with a measure of competence are appliances to harm and kill. Other things are unstable and best not used for longer than absolutely necessary.
  • Personality: A man balancing on the verge of madness, Rogaedyn is eerily calm most of the time. Though his voice is deep and commanding, he speaks softly and scarcely, as if afraid of his own tone. Perhaps somewhere down there he truly is scared of what he's become over the years, but he hides it behind a mask of stoicism and apathy. That, however, changes whenever Grimm are mentioned or, gods forbid, appear before him. His whole personality switches into that of a zealous purifier, a deranged preacher that carries with him odium of monumental, cyclopean proportions. With heart full of fire, he is unafraid of death or failure, but he makes it clear that he cares little for fellow men when there are Grimm to kill and to be his partner is to invite the Reaper close.
  • Bio: Something broke Rogaedyn. He doesn't talk about it much with anyone. Presumably he was once an ordinary child from Vacuo frontier whose village was destroyed by Grimm. Presumably that shook him to the very core, and perhaps then he swore his vengeance. Whatever the case, for a few years now the whole desert whispered of the Executioner, of the Purifier, of the Grimm-eater. He would show up at a site of battle and start shooting. As scores of monsters fell to his guns and he would start citing litanies of Gaia with a thunderous roar, the locals would watch, awestruck as this cowboy of old turns the tide of battle by himself... but then, once the last Grimm fell, he would move on and leave the village behind. Then accounts of witnesses started mentioning a steel horse on top of which the Grimm-eater rode, raining divine retribution down on the creatures of evil. Rogaedyn became a semi-mythical creature, but he cared little for it, as long as he could kill Grimm and those that associated with them - whether they were genuine cultists or simple bandits reaching for an opportunity - without mercy, compassion or hesitation.
    • He was no Huntsman, just a killer. Eventually however, his talents were noticed and an invitation to Beacon extended. For a time, Rogaedyn did not venture to Vale, content to stay like he was, but something nagged at the back of his mind to try his chances. Perhaps he needed to come back to civilization that he forwent in favor of his vendetta. Perhaps it was time to start killing Grimm for others and not just for himself. Time would tell what Beacon had for him in store.
  • Other: He's an accomplished gunsmith and mechanic, though he scoffs at combined weapons that seem to be all the rage amongst the townies.

  • Name: Duncan Whorple
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 18
  • Birthday: Folium 27th
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Same Clan, different vintage His attempt at a uniform (6'4")
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Baron: Baron is a combination of Duncan's Jacket, Boots and Gloves that serve both as armour and an armament. The way Baron works, is that just a heartbeat before any impact (be it receiving or delivering an impact), the soon to be impacted area becomes harder than steel, thus Allowing Duncan to both hit incredibly hard and shrug off most blows with relative ease.
    • End of Days: Duncan's personal motorcycle, as well as his pride and joy. While not kitted out with any fancy gadgets or weapons, Duncan still takes a lot of pride in how well he maintains it. Duncan's also got it set up with a rather loud surround sound system that blares his entrance theme whenever he needs to make a dramatic entrance.
  • Semblance: Endgame: Essentially, Duncan's semblance allows him to channel a powerful blast of telekinetic energy which essentially allows Duncan to push things really hard without actually touching them. Though the most obvious way to use this particular ability would be to simply push opponents and heavy objects away, Duncan can also use it to propel himself forwards at ludicrous speeds as well as allowing him to leap incredibly high into the air. The main downside to this, aside from the toll on his Aura, is the mental strain it puts on Duncan. Since Endgame has roots in Duncan's mind due to its Telekinetic nature, it quite literally drives him berserk if overused, albeit temporarily. While in this berserk state, Duncan will attack anything that he does not identify as friendly with a reckless abandon until either they stop fighting back or they manage to take him down. Duncan will exit this berserk state after he either ceases using Endgame for an extended period of time or someone he considers friendly helps calm him down.
  • Personality: Having grown up in the collective shadows of his Father, brother and sister (and the rest of his immediate family for that matter), Duncan always has, and always will feel the need to prove himself as a the great fighter he knows he can be. With this desire to prove himself comes an incredibly stubborn refusal to give up, no matter the circumstances. When he isn't fighting, Duncan's personality proves to be quite a bit different than that of his fellow Highlanders. Having grown up with a lot of outside influences about him, Duncan didn't exactly embrace the whole 'Proud Warrior' tradition of the rest of his Clan. Instead, Duncan lives by a personal code of honour that involves; striving to be the best he can in any field, loyalty to his clan, kin and friends as well as well as simply treating everyone he encounters with respect (though it is possible to get Duncan to break this code if you push him hard enough).
  • Bio: Unlike most of his kin, Duncan spent a lot of his early years out of his homeland and moving about the continent with his dad (a professional hunter) and absorbing the cultures therein. After returning to the homeland of his Clan with his Father, Duncan began to perfect his skills in unarmed combat so that he might be able to use Baron better before joining his uncle, Fionn, on a tour of Vale's independent wrestling circuit where they eventually won several Tag Team belts and Duncan captured a few titles of his own. But, alas, all good things must come to an end and deciding that a proper education was a little more important for his nephew, Fionn decided that he'd pull a few strings and arrange for Duncan to get a tryout at Beacon. With a little effort on Duncan's part and some thouroughly trounced Grimm, Duncan made it into the school with a fair few bruises and scrapes, but his pride was well intact.

Course I'm coming back, ya dunce~

  • Name: Marvin-Lee Blanc Jade

  • Gender: Male

  • Age: 17 Years old

  • Birthday: Crystallum 15th

  • Race: Snake Faunus

  • Appearance: I can see what your next few moves will be, you know. In addition, Marvin’s scales are pure white and spiky in some places.

  • Weapons and Equipment:

    • Thunderstruck: A pair of gauntlets and greaves that hide claws up their "sleeves", similar to Ieria's. The difference is that instead of shooting off flames and shotgun shells, the claws hidden in both can vibrate at intensely high speeds, slicing through most things with relative ease.

  • Semblance - Raiden: Marvin's Aura can manifest itself into an electric field that he can extend outward just past the length of his arm. The field is incredibly strong and can incapacitate most creatures, working exceptionally well against The Grimm. His lightning aura cannot be properly used as a projectile, although he can extend the effective range of his attacks by imbuing it into his claw blades and objects he can throw, so long as they can conduct electricity.

  • Personality: Marvin is a rather outgoing individual, which is a far cry from his mother's personality. He'd be possessed of a cunning tongue if his wit could keep up with his mouth, but instead he can sometime stumble over what he was trying to say, fumbling his intent and message. Regardless of the inferiority complex that drives him to push himself further and further, he is not one to put himself before others and will put their needs above his own, even if it means he comes out looking lesser or weaker because of it. Its a shame about his perverted streak coloring his actions with anyone he deems attractive, be they male, female, human, faunus, machine or otherwise; if Marvin is interested in it and is not threatened, there is a solid chance he might flirt with whatever he sees.

  • Bio: The nineteenth child of Ieria and Medus, Marvin-Lee Blanc Jade is a boy who wants to make a name for himself, making it out of his family's shadow. Hounded by the pressure to live up to expectations set even before his birth, Marvin has trained and studied various martial art disciplines in order to hone his mind and body, believing that true strength comes from within oneself and not the weapon they wield, hence his attachment to the Jade brand of fighting, which involves relying on one's on capability to close the gap and strike, a style that he takes a step further by focusing on speed and precision, rather than simple raw power like his eldest brother. While he could have pursued a different path to set him apart from some of his family members, he decided to strive to be a Hunter that was worthy of his family's name, so much is his drive to prove his own worth to himself and others.

  • Name: Han Emi (last name first convention, and eminence is a shade of purple)

  • Gender: Female

  • Age: 17

  • Birthday: Flos 9th

  • Race: Human

  • Appearance: Dressed for battle.

  • Weapons and Equipment: Simple and clean, Meikyo-Shisui are a pair of katanas with gleaming blades, perfect at reflecting light. They can be attached together at the hilts to form a blade staff, and can be joined together to transform into the most "crude" of their forms, a double barreled shotgun.

  • Semblance: Emi has the ability to Mirror things. By this, she can create perfectly mirrored images of physical things, which are intangible to the things they are a mirror of, but tangible to everything else. She often uses this to create a clone of herself to cover her back or double team or pincer attack an opponent. The mirrored image moves and act exactly as the original does, like a reflection. This requires focus and concentration on Emi's part. At the very height of the ability, Emi can mirror the mind of opponents to obtain a sort of recognition by clearing all thoughts from her head and having analyzed the ones involved thoroughly, though this is nigh impossible for her in most situations.

  • Personality: Emi is a pretty introspective and a reflective person. She's perceptive and stern, and often stiff and formal, years of discipline drilled into her. She's not one to lose her temper easily. But she's by no means a quiet person. For someone who speaks so briefly, she's certainly not afraid to speak at all, often honestly to the point of bluntness. However, despite the disciplined aura of confidence she gives off, she's often envious and falls prey to her own doubts of if she's worthy of being where she is and all that's expected of her. Because of this, she's no stranger to late nights and aching muscles as she tirelessly trains to better herself. Repeated failures on her part break her composure and patience quite easily though, turning the disciplined noble into a desperate wreck trying to do something right.

  • Bio: Born as the first child in the main family line of the Han family of nobles in Mistral, Emi is the granddaughter of the current head of the family, Han Lazu, and in line to succeed her father one day. As such, she has been groomed as the heir to the family tradition, namely their martial arts. For most of the years of her life, she has been trained in all the ways she's expected to act. Formal etiquette, honor in one's birthright, noblesse oblige...all the social mores that come with being a noble. But the Han family are not solely political players, for they are widely renowned for their school of martial arts. Emi was taught the basics of most forms, before she chose to specialize in katanas and the staff (a surprising choice for one destined to one day become head of the family). With all her life building up to this moment, she was ready to head off to Haven Academy, as her family have done so for generations...

    • But it's well known in certain circles that the Han family are in bed with much of the Mistrali underworld, sometimes literally. Emi, of course, has been kept out of the loop of this side of the family, being told that any allegations are slanderous rumours seeking to undermine the Han name in the workings of nobles. However, after a discovery into the first-year applicant student list of Haven Academy, Emi's future had a slight change of plan. At her father's behest, she was not to go to Haven, but rather Beacon, on the basis that exposure to a different culture might do her good one day as leader of the family. Confused, but not in any position to argue or resist, she packed for the unknown lands of Vale.

I will pretty much continue with Cerise as-is.

  • Name: Cerise Chester
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 17
  • Birthday: Unknown
  • Race: Faunus (Cat)
  • Appearance: [1]. Cerise is a perpetual smiler, something that can be equal amounts charming as it is creepy.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Cat's Claws. A telescopic mace and staff hybrid, with a bludgeoning end shaped like a cartoonish cat paw. Retractable claws give it additional cutting and tearing power. Its appearance hides the fact that most of its weight is compacted using Dust—with the push of a trigger, the bludgeoning end swells to several times its normal size.
    • Cat's Paws. Cerise wears these cat paw-shaped gauntlets as a tool to make carrying her mace easier. A fuzzy outer layer disguises metal plating underneath. The paws also have similar retractable claws, useful as a backup weapon but in particular as a tool for climbing.
  • Semblance: Blink and you'll miss her. The major joints of Cerise's body (shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, wrists, ankles, and neck) can detach, and each detached part can be phased out to reappear elsewhere within a strict 5 meter distance. The more parts Cerise detaches, the quicker her aura is depleted (almost exponentially). She usually tries to accomplish a full-body blink (disappear and reappear elsewhere piece-by-piece) as quickly as possible, though she can never teleport as quickly as a more direct teleportation Semblance (like Gage's), and it can be easily observed by a watching opponent.
  • Personality: Cerise is carefree and eccentric, interacting with people in an obtuse manner and gently teasing even if she knows she can't get away with it. When fighting, Cerise resorts to trash talking her opponents with surprisingly harsh words, to goad her opponents into fighting at their strongest.
  • Bio:
    • Make no mistake, Cerise is a criminal with a laundry list of infractions that are just plain bizarre: photobombing tourists and then stealing their cameras to get the photos, breaking into someone's home to use their shower and do nothing else, defacing statues to make them look "less gloomy"...the list goes on.
    • Cerise grew up as an orphaned faunus tossed around the foster care system, never finding a stable home on account of her race, her behavior, and her at-first charming but eventually unsettling smile.
    • Cerise spent as much time out on her own as she could. With a mental block preventing her from accessing her aura, Cerise instead developed an increased tolerance to pain. Cerise had many partners (male or female, romantic or not), some of whom she parted with on bitter terms. After a violent dispute with one in particular, Cerise was beat down so heavily she finally unlocked her Semblance and gained the upper hand.
    • Following this ordeal, Cerise grew hooked on the masochistic satisfaction of a Heroic Second Wind. Cerise left the orphanage and reinvented herself with a new look and a penchant for vigilantism.
    • Eventually, Cerise was arrested after Vale's police caught her stealing food from the fridge of a man she had recently assaulted in his apartment. Though aware that the man smuggled Dust in from Vacuo and was responsible for several robberies in the area, this didn't concern her more than the fact that he bumped into her in the street earlier and called her a "dirty stray".
    • Cerise, 17 at the time, was tried in a juvenile court. Ozpin took interest in her case and offered her an opportunity to serve her sentence at Beacon Academy to escape being transferred to a criminal court and tried as an adult, and Cerise jumped on the chance.

cracks knuckles Let's do this.

Decided to tweak a former character for this RP, considering the setting.

Name: Adrian Clayton

Age: 17

Birthday: Aurum 8th

Race: Horse Faunus

Appearance: A young man of above average height with caramel skin, red-orange eyes and and messy dark hair that turns cinnabar at the tips, with a pair of equine ears bearing the same fur coloration as his hair poking out. Wears a blood-red t-shirt under a brown bomber jacket, jeans and armoured boots. A gray bandanna is wrapped around his neck.

Weapons and Equipment:

  • Adrian's weapons are Vega - a brown and black coloured bat that is incorporates dust shells (shotgun shells of dust) to enhance its blows when the trigger mechanism is activated, and Altair- which can shift between a revolver and a single-edged dagger.

  • Brimstone, a modified two-seater muscle car. Although slightly plain in appearance, Adrian has upgraded it to go toe to toe with the most aggressive racers on the street. It's also been modified to include an armoured body, solid tires, nitrous boost, and a hidden compartment in the trunk.

Semblance: Gateway, allows Adrian to create portals leading in and out of a pocket dimension. Adrian mainly uses his semblance for deliveries, as anything stored inside the dimension can't be detected. Alternatively, Adrian can link two portals leading to different locations to "teleport" himself or others, although he is only capable of teleporting within a range of 100m. Objects that can be stored are limited by the size of the portal's maximum radius (2m) and the larger/more numerous the objects passing in and out of the portals, the more aura is needed to maintain them. Furthermore, living beings cannot hide in the pocket dimension.

Personality: Adrian is a bit of a contradiction: Although he tries to present himself as a laid-back and coolheaded person, he is at heart a spitfire with a mean streak, and that often shows whenever he's in a fight. It's common for him to pause briefly mid-sentence to bite down a sharp remark and replace it with a more neutral remark, though he does have a better hold on his temper than most would think. Adrian dislikes racists and smoking, likes his car, anything that's spicy, and a good brawl.

Bio: Little is known about Adrian's past. He was born in the Menagerie, his mother died when he was a year old, and he was raised by his father, the hunter-turned-freelance courier/mercenary Jacob Clayton. Over the years, Adrian learned the tools and tricks of the trade as he joined his father travelling across Remnant,, as well as how to drive and fight.

  • However, there was much more to being a professional courier than long periods of driving interspersed between brief bursts of mortal danger from Grimm or criminals. If Adrian wanted to follow in his father's footsteps, he needed to obtain a Hunter's license. After parting ways with his father, Adrian spent a couple of years working as a courier among the gangs of Vale before he managed to gain the funds needed to enrol in Beacon Academy.

Adrian Clayton by Svenorzokoff is accepted.

Beacon might be a little more tame than you're used to, but I believe you'll find formal schooling to be a good experience. Welcome to Beacon, Mr. Clayton.

ONE (1) SLOT LEFT. Sorry, guys. I counted wrong.

  • Name: Liselle Ashen
  • Gender:Female
  • Age: 18
  • Birthday: Ignis 6
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: A rare smile.
    • Liselle is pretty tall for her age, around 5'9. Her eyes are also actually gray.
  • Weapons and Equipment: Liselle built her equipment herself, as she's a fairly skilled tinkerer. She's always looking at other Hunter's weapons to get ideas for improvement.
    • Dies Dolorem is her main weapon of choice. It is a giant double sided Labrys, easily six feet tall and with blades that are proportionally as huge. At the base of the handle is a slot to insert Dust cartridges, as there is machinery inside allowing the blade to be coated with layers of fire, lightning or ice Dust. The whole blade can also mech-shift into its ranged form. Fittingly, that's an oversized anti armor bazooka.
    • Aside from the weapon, Liselle wears a metal chestplate for extra protection, gauntlets to increase her strength (those have tasers as an emergency weapon), greaves fitted with boosters (she can't fly but it does boost her speed and lets her glide above the ground), and a small sunglasses-like visor that feeds her combat data.
  • Semblance: Liselle's Semblance is called Erasure.
    • Simply put, Liselle's Semblance allows her to erase a "concept" from up to two things that she had touched within five minutes.
    • For example, she can erase a knife's "sharpness", making it unable to cut, she can erase a wall's "hardness", allowing her to shatter it with ease, or she can erase a lightbulb's "brightness" etc.
    • It's a versatile Semblance, but quite limited. Erasure doesn't affect living beings - this includes even Grimm, so she can't just touch one and destroy it. As mentioned she can only erase a concept from up to two objects at a time and if she touches another then she has to deactivate the effect on one. Finally, the erasure only lasts about only 3 or so minutes. She also has to focus, so it's harder to do in combat.
  • Personality: At first glance aloof, bossy, snide and haughty. Unwilling to make small talk or socialize most of the time, Liselle is a perfectionist that speaks her mind. If she thinks you're doing something wrong, she'll tell it straight to your face. She has impossibly high standards, but she also holds herself to them....and she rarely lives up to it in her mind. Harder to herself than to others, Liselle is driven to the point of it being unhealthy. This is all because she's terrified of getting people hurt because of her own powerlessness, and is thus overprotective. The reason that she nags so much is because she cares a lot. She wants everyone around her to be safe, happy and the best they can be. She's like a mom. Just....don't expect her to be nice about it.
  • Bio: Liselle Ashen was born in Vale to a normal family. Her parents were mechanics who worked hard to provide for her, and she loved them greatly. The family, modest as their means were, always took a point of going out on a yearly vacation to Mistral.
    • It was a year like any other, Liselle was ten, and the Ashens were returning home from their vacation. ...And then their transport was shot down by bandits and had to make an emergency crash in the wilderness outside of Vale.
    • But they didn't have to worry about bandits, because as soon as they crashed...their fear attracted Grimm. Liselle, shoved under the seats by her mother could only cower in fear as she heard those terrible howls. After what seemed like forever, the sounds...stopped.
    • Liselle was the only survivor. She stumbled into the wild, exhausted and terrified, until by a miracle she found a town. The girl, consumed by grief and anger made a promise: "No. No one else." She trained and studied, built and refined her weapon, all to become a Huntress. And now, she was here. Beacon was calling...

Nothing is what it seems. Master of Shipping and Sadism.

I know it's closed and all but I'm posting this for the chance of an opening.

  • Name: Gwynfor-Johann Fleming
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 19
  • Birthday: Ventus 14
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Fuck your lab safety I want superpowers
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Megaphytosaur: A weapon in the shape of a giant jaw, it is made of two long serrated swords combined with a heat-engine, allowing for it to cause a heat-conductive impact.
    • It is all handled via using a holding plate as the handle, said plate also has a barrel capable of shooting exploding spikes out of it. In the jaw form the upper sword can be pushed down and the lower sword can be pushed upwards. Like a jaw biting into its prey.
    • Paleorhinus: The long serrated sword making up the upper part.
    • Protome: The long serrated sword making the lower part
    • Alternating Current & Direct Current (Abbreviated AC & DC): A pair of twin pistols capable of firing small bullets filled with electricity, these bullets are not shots of lightning like a lot of people use electricity dust but rather shots that deal small shocks to the body, they're meant to be stuck and deal small surge shocks every 5 seconds for about a minute. The butts of the pistols have hidden dagger blades that can release a surge of electricity when in physical contact with a foe, with the power being adjustable. After strong releases from full power, the daggers need 20 seconds at least to recharge to useable shocks, and 40 to go back to full power. Usually only used when Gwyn feels he doesn't need to use Megaphytosaur.
  • Semblance: D.R.I. : Intialism for "Deconstruction. Reconstruction. Ignition." Jo can break apart the covalent bonds of gaseous compounds in the air and reconstruct them as another compound, specifically, the Carbon in the air and the Hydrogen of the water vapour into Methane form, with the amount of Methane controllable by Jo. Said Methane explodes on the spot as soon as it fully forms. Sending flames and, obviously hazardous explosions onto the vicinity. Much to the chagrin of Johann's enemies, and sometimes his allies as well.
  • Personality: Gwyn is odd. His core philosophy in life can be clumsily described as "FOR SCIENCE" though he is disgusted by overly immoral acts meant for research even if it doesn't show with some of the things he does. Johann loves to tinker, to experiment, to see what makes everything in this world work. The man is boundlessly curious, and incredibly enthusiastic, he wants to see everything, know everything. Though even if he is absorbed in science, he cares about his own responsibilities a lot, he is deeply entrenched in trying to earn respect from people, something he never really had up until now, he never likes to let the people he cares about down in serious things, Socially, Flem is about as subtle as a brick to the face. Although he's friendly and kind, he's also tactless and completely blunt with everything he says. Johann is always thinking, and comes off as an airhead at times, sometimes he takes his work so far that he forgets about everything else. Also he's got a tiny attention span that can be frustrating to deal with.
  • Bio: Born to a councilman of Vale from a young age Johann was tutored in politics, his father expecting him to go down the line of a councilman like him after his older sister never showed any interest in it, he was quite bored by it all and always preferred his experiments to it, causing his father to view him as just another disappointment, although his life was generally spent on one crazy contraption or bomb after another and millions of research books, after two disappointments his dad decided he had enough, started abusing Gwyn, shunning him, rarely talking to him. Even the caretakers were given orders to have minimal dialogue with him, he became the black sheep of the Fleming family, with his personality that wasn't good for high social events, even his status as a prodigy in the science community was not enough to get him away from harm at his father's hands. In order to cope with his life, he turned to bully the kids around at his school to fit in with stronger people, after all if he didn't they'd bully him right?

Eventually he took things too far, and ended up in physical fist fight with one of the people he bullied and returned home with a broken nose, seeing it, his father was infuriated, and decided to scold him very physically and thoroughly.

Exactly at this time, he ended elementary school, and decided he had enough of his family After about a year of convincing his parents agreed to let him tag along with a team of scientists as they traveled around Remnant. When he returned home four years later, he was a changed man, albeit still far too reckless, and as punishment his father sent him to Beacon, a place where he could at least bring some respect for the family, after all a career in politics for him is lost.

However, with the help of his elder sister, another outcast in the family who joined the Valoran Yeomanry, instead of becoming the daughter Mr. Fleming wanted Gwynfor became a soldier under a forged identity, the ruse worked, for a while, but after about a year the trick stopped working, and his father found out, furious the man sent him to Beacon again, this time for real.

FOR THE WAITING LIST! Because fun

Name: Vermilio Arbon (Vermilion being a shade of red) Gender:Male Age: 17 Birthday: Ignis 17 Race: Human

Appearance: Of average height and firm build, the most prominent feature Vermilio has is a mane of red hair flowing over his shoulders and reaching down his back, rarely combed into anything more than a vague semblance of order to keep it out of his eyes, with varying degrees of success depending on the wind. Green eyes gaze out of a young, smooth face, a dark scarf wrapped around his shoulders and white jacket, broken up by a few black lines and open to reveal his similarly black-and-white shirt. (Will have image once I figure that out.)

Weapons and Equipment: Wielding a halberd dubbed Ol' Soldier by himself, Vermilio wields the weapon primarily due to his desire for an adaptable, multi-use weapon ready to crack open armoured Grimm or take a charge from the bigger ones and slam them down, hard. In terms of melee function, it works exactly like a halberd should, with just the blade and point up-sized and the hook serrated to either tear through grim flesh or hook into surfaces to keep Verm safe from hard landings. Due to the design of the head, the usual fire-arm is instead located in the haft of the halberd, a hard hitting single shot mechanism necessitating the halberd be reversed in order to aim and fire it properly.

Semblance: Analyse - Through focusing on an object, person or creature, Vermilio has the ability to locate weak points in the structure or flesh of the target he's observing, even on sides he isn't directly looking at. Though more vulnerable than other parts of the creature and a boon in combat there are flaws to this. If direct line of sight to the subject is blocked, the power ceases to function, meaning that fast-moving targets, invisible or simply well hidden targets are unaffected by the power. Whilst not a direct weakness, a flaw of the power is that any sentient opponent paying attention will likely single out Vermilio as a target, meaning extra effort is required from the team to make it work effectively in combat

Personality: Good natured to those who know him, Vermilio rarely makes much of an effort to socialise beyond the people he comes across naturally in life, whether it be classmates, fellow huntsmen students or interesting people he runs across during outdoor activities. Prefers to spend his time outside if possible, rarely remaining indoors for long if there's a chance for being outside in the sun, cloudy weather or even heavy rain if there's a good enough tree to wait it out under. If someone needs his help he will listen, but avoid interacting with the person outside of the job's requirements, mainly out of a laziness and dislike of having to deal with people he's not familiar with on some level.

Bio: Growing up in the City of Vale, Vermilio absorbed the ideas and duties of huntsmen and huntresses from an early age. Courage, diligence, helping those who needed it, the idea of the independent lifestyle and heroics of these men and women bonded with him like so many others. However, more than just the heroic stories motivated him, a desire to travel and spend time in the wilderness was behind his dream of one day entering Beacon Academy, the only huntsmen academy he could ever think of going to. However, the youthful exuberance was tempered as he grew older. Mountain Glenn's demise and the stories of it cut his lofty dreams of heroes slightly shorter, the knowledge that huntsmen could not save everyone encouraging him to look at the world a little closer and less magical than youth had him do. On a more personal note, his teenage years instilled a reluctance in sometimes dealing with people that was far more mundane than the horror of Mountain Glenn. People had demands, niggles, little things they wanted done some way even when it was fine the other way. Whilst it didn't drive him away from helping people entirely, this teenage apathy strengthened his desire to stay out-doors and travel, fighting or camping instead of taking to city life and the welcome, though distracting, comforts that it offered.
