[up][up][up] A suggestion being better for a different page is something that's sometimes discussed in these threads, just so you know.

[up] That image has the right idea, but it's really small for a page image, in my opinion.

Looking at my suggestion (13) again, I do think it's a better fit for Story Branching than Multiple Endings. Story Branching's current image is kinda chaotic and relies heavily on its caption.

How's this? The text is in-game, I didn't add that (but I did brighten it).

12 looks more like Story Branching to me as well... I think 13 is better than the current on Story Branching, because of its horizontal layout.

[up]Somehow, I like that the most so far but it's still kind of dark.

[up] Where's the evidence that either of those, let alone both, are endings for Sonic 2? According both to You Tube (here, for instance, at 7 and 11 minutes in) and my recollection of the game, those aren't real endings, except maybe in some foreign special edition I haven't found proof of.

That said, it appears to be an online parody of the actual multiple endings to Sonic 1.

EDIT: More drastically, there's the Sonic CD ending, though I suppose I should link to this page to show how it might constitute a misleading edit.

EDIT again: More drastically than that, the Game Gear version of Sonic 2...

26 and 28 don't look like multiple endings. They look like failure and win screens. They remind me of Banjo-Kazooie, where the game over screen could be interpreted as a "bad ending" even though it's more like a game over.

I think the image should show there's at least three endings. These games usually have a standard ending, good ending, and bad ending, and not just a standard ending and bad ending.

[up] Sonic 3 & Knuckles technically has 3 endings per character... one with all the super emeralds, one with all the chaos emeralds, and one with neither all the super emeralds nor all the chaos emeralds. The first cuts to the good guys hanging around the game's logo after the credits, the second cuts to a robot emerging from the rubble after the credits, and the third cuts to Robotnik posing with the master emerald. However, I'm not sure how to commnunicate that other than using 6 screenshots to denote that the "cuts to the game's logo" isn't part of the other endings, and using 6 screenshots, even if we shrink and/or crop them to fit, might be pushing it.

Apart from that, the following from the example pages are what come to mind, and I'm not sure they even count.

Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) all have multiple endings by virtue of having multiple campaigns. Clearing the main campaigns unlocks a "Last Story" that concludes the games' stories after defeating the True Final Boss in Sonic's Super Form.

Majora's Mask has a segmented ending, where the finale Cut Scene is split into ten short clips, each of which are unlocked by the possession of its respective mask. As such, the entire ending can only be seen if you get the corresponding ten masks. Failing to collect a specific mask instead shows you a picture of said mask rather than the scene, as the scenes are usually related to the things Link has to do in order to get them.

Apparently the 3rd Streets of Rage game has 4 endings, and Shadow the Hedgehog has 11, but I'm not particularly inclined right now to look into what they are. (Prefer to recite from memory, really.)

[up] The Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Heroes and '06 examples wouldn't work, in my opinion. Those aren't alternate endings, they're just different perspectives of the same endings. The "Last Stories" don't override the other endings, they're all equally "canon", so to speak.

The Majora's Mask example is a Modular Epilogue if anything.

Shadow The Hedgehog is a better example of Multiple Endings, but they're mainly distinguished by dialogue, which can't be conveyed easily in a still image.

This seems to be inconclusive... Crowner now, or can I put back the original pic?

[up] Can't do crowners yet. At this point, I'm starting to think that a simple revert/close is the way to go.

Yes, I'm going to restore the picture and tag the page accordingly.

When the Image Pickin' system will be fully functional anew, other tropers can start a thread with their own replacement suggestions.

I'd rather leave the page blank for now than putting back that image. Several people expressed their disapproval.

Leaving it blank seems a good idea.

Looking at the current again, while I get what it's getting at, I can see how someone that's not familiar with YouTube wouldn't understand it, so I'd be fine with culling it.

Bump; anyone else for/against culling the current?

The clock's up and the consensus has swung toward pulling the current, so it's gone and the tag's adjusted. Locking up.

"Choose Rarity"? "Choose Sunset Shimmer"? "Choose Fluttershy"? I can't decide...
