Not a macro, actually: Jeopardy displays the Final Round responses this manner.
The 9gag watermark may be an issue, though, so keeping the thread open. Anyone able to find a cleaner version or any replacement ideas?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportHow is this trope different from Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure?
One is the act of assuming a person is familiar with a piece of pop culture (isolation). Failure is the result when that assumption is incorrect.
Honestly, they could probably stand to be merged.
Okay, read the labelnote (was curious) and I stand corrected. The note confirms some 'shopping done. Treat it as an image macro?

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI was very confused when you said it wasn't a macro, but didn't want to complain too much.
But yeah, that never actually happened on Jeopardy.
I'm bringing it up with staff to see if it warrants an instapull or just standard IP procedures. Will update post once I get confirmation.
Edit: Until we get confirmation, let's just go through the standard IP procedures. Anyone else in favor of pulling?

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportPull regardless of replacement
I'm good to zap it.
Terminate with extreme prejudice.
(Annoyed grunt)Pull.
Apparently, it is 'shopped.
Other than the watermark I don't see the problem with it. Yes it didn't really happen on the show, but does that really matter if it's a good illustration of the trope?
Per Image Macro, we tend to discourage using Image Macros as page images.
Support pulling due to it being a macro and photoshopped.
I don't know if this works better for Pop-Culture Isolation or Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure (probably the latter), but panels 2+3 of this El Goonish Shive strikes me as a good picture for one of the pages.
It's close enough to working that it's worth trying to make the speech bubbles slightly bigger. (Or maybe just use panel 2 by itself).
^^ Seems more like Fan Myopia on the dude's part to me. What reference is she not getting?

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"In the previous strip, she admits in front of that guy and a bunch of people playing an MTG-like game that she's never seen any of the Star Wars films.
Then it needs that strip for context. Whatever it illustrates, it's not good for Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure ATM.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I still don't think the current is that bad. It's not really an Image Macro, and still illustrates the trope even if it's Photoshopped.
Keet cleanupClock is set.
Keep current for the same reasons as .
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Nah, pull regardless of replacement.
An image being shopped doesn't mean it's an Image Macro. This isn't one. Keep.
Check out my fanfiction!
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
Image macro. Also has a 9gag watermark in the second panel.
