A new animated Little Nemo movie is coming soon!

It's coming from ON Animation (Mark Osborne's The Little Prince) and is being directed by Hyrum Osmond (head of animation on Moana), who's rather psyched about it:

Soumache described the “Little Nemo” comic series as a cross between “Alice in Wonderland” and “Hook,” and said it was ideal for present-day animation. “The strip is truly an unlimited source for astonishing adventures. McCay created a world made for CGI a century before the technology existed,” Soumache said. “It’s a passion project at the heart of ON Animation’s philosophy: a beloved property leading to a story of emotional truth, set against a never-before-seen world.”

Hopefully, it'll turn a lot better than the last movie, right?

Funny I should hear about this right after watching Bobsheaux's review on the 1989 movie. tongue

It'll be interesting to see where this goes. Looks like it has some good talent on board, so that's a plus.

The TMS Little Nemo movie is not really that bad - especially considering all the talent behind it (especially the director, Masami Hata, who directed the lovely, beautiful Ringing Bell and A Journey Through Fairyland.)

It doesn't feel much like Mc Cay's work, though, except for the beginning dream sequence, which really captures the feel of a Mc Cay strip.

If this one can figure a way to really replicate the feel of Mc Cay's work I'll be sold.

I hope it has better story and execution in this version.
