I've watched a few videos on it and seen a few reviews and it definately looks like a fun game if you have a group of friends with microphones. I currently play a lot of blackwake which is a more gritty and less refined version of the same game which is definately fun but falls down when you have to rely on randoms or if a co-ordinated team put the effort in to make life hell. This is definately a wait and see what is in place before I buy game.
It all depends on the support from the developer on content updates. Gotta treat it like an MMO, because people can get bored fast and you really don't want to rely on pvp to support it.
There's an Alpha out, not that I have access to it. I know the first thing that you see when you boot up the Alpha is you have to choose if: You start with a big ship with a crew of 4, you start with a small ship with a crew of 2, or you start with a tiny ship by yourself. Does every session start this way? Do you not have a persistent ship between sessions that you can customize and upgrade?
It's been out. Impressions? I have it on my Gamefly queue.
It’s extremely empty and very little to do. It feels like No Mans Sky on launch except you can encounter other players.
Also the servers blow serious ass and on Win 10 you HAVE to use the absolutely terrible Xbox app.

Seas of Thieves is experiencing some issues right out of the gate.
MMO's aren't my thing but this looks kind of fun. The guys at Roosterteeh seem to be having fun with it, and I hope that they will continue putting out vidoes of their experiences so I can get the optimal "play with a bunch of friends" experience, even if I can't play the game myself.
Consensus I've seen so far seems to be "Not enough content for its price". :/
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Same. You go and explore islands and gather chests and that's about it so far.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The game seems like it would be fun if you could get a bunch of friends together in the same room with you. Outside of that though...
Its compared to an early access game released at full price & touted as a complete product.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'd buy this maybe after a price drop to play casually. Unlike No Man's Sky, t least there does appear to be social aspects. I also like the Monkey Island aesthetic, and the water effects are amazing. Maybe better seen as less of a game and more of a virtual hang-out.
Thunder, Thunder, Thunder......Yeah, by all accounts this game isn't worth it. Maybe after a price drop and a lot of updates to add some content.
Disgusted, but not surprisedIs this a free update or a paid expansion?
Coz if it's the later, kinda galling considering how little content the game has.
The Hungering Deep, the first update to Seas of Thieves, is out now, and it's free.

I'm surprised there's no forum for this. For the uninitiated, Sea of Thieves is Rare's open world co-op massively multiplayer pirated comedy game. Sort of like Guns of Icarus Online meets Monkey Island.
My interest is growing. I was skeptical, but the more I see the more I am intrigued. Anyone else?
