How to fight/kill the Grim Reaper? Or refuse death?

The story is set in a standard RPG fantasy world. I have a character who has a mission that is yet to be completed, but her "deadline" has come and the Grim Reaper is now to collect her soul. I want to have some ways for her to fight with the Grim Reaper, and the result will be the Grim Reaper suffering from a fatal damage that makes it retreat back to the realm of dead (but it will be back later to collect her soul once again, and my character will fight with the Grim Reaper once again to extend her deadline until she finishes her mission)

I really want to write some cool battle scenes.

What are her abilities?

Hopefully I'll feel confident to change my avatar off this scumbag soon. Apologies to any scumbags I insulted.

Basically I didn't have a concrete plan on her abilities because I don't want her to be a Mary Sue. But some basic ideas will be she is a dual wielder, one like Kirito from Sword Art Online and she is able to cast magic (I want to make her a Magic Knight)

I'd go with some rare artifact, maybe even a weapon, designed explicitly for the purpose of fighting the Grim Reaper... or rather his manifestation in this world. It also grants the user the ability to see the Reaper coming. I picture it as something like this.

The Reaper approaches, floating, legs unseen beneath the cloak, scythe in hand. He is otherwise incorporeal, and only the scythe itself can deal death. However, the scythe can also physically block and be blocked by the Sword of Immortality note . In turn, the Sword is otherwise corporeal, but its touch can destroy the Reaper's manifestation.

The fight itself is something like an even more close range bladed version of the final gunfight in Equilibrium. The Reaper and the Heroine outright pass through one another on multiple occasions, so long as the blades themselves block any blows mere inches away. Finally, the Reaper tricks the Heroine into breaking the Sword, smashing it into a stone pillar he had phased over and obscured. Yet as he swings in turn, she manages to pierce him with the small shard still attached to the handle. Still, this is a temporary defeat, and she'll need other means the second time around... maybe a game of chess.

Make a deal with the devil to live for exactly 10 more years then he will come for the characters soul. Then time travel 11 years into the future making the soul unobtainable.

or

Have the characters soul stored in a cluster of phylacteries along with several others so the reaper can only take one at a time.
