I was out shopping today and I noticed a DVD of the David Suchet version. The cover looks almost completely identical to the poster for this version, focusing on the train.
That would be a weird surprise if you didn't know the Suchet version existed.
Not Three Laws compliant.Pretty good formula to repeat! Send Ken Branagh to Egypt, get another all-star cast.
Just got back from seeing this movie. Loved it. Now I got to find a copy of the book to read.
I caught a random rerun of the David Suchet version once, and it was like "Holy crap, that's Jessica Chastain!"
And I've never seen the 1970s Ingrid Bergman version. Have to check that box.
You mean the 1974 Albert Finney-was-Oscar-nominated one?
Yes, the "Ingrid Bergman is the best thing about every movie" version.
From the trope page, it seems like the '74 version has a very different tone.
Release date of November 2019 for Kenneth Branagh's Death on the Nile. Still no official word on whether or not Branagh will direct, although one would assume so.
Wasn't overly enthralled by MOTOE. Probly won't see Nile in theaters. Will rent it.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Peter Ustinov is my Poirot.
So...don't mean to necro this thread, but I don't think there's quite enough info yet for Nile to get its own thread. They have a little fo the casting out now. Gal Gadot is in talks for playing Linnet Doyle...so basically it might be who murdered Wonder Woman now XD. Tom Batemen is back as Bouc interestingly, and Armie Hammer is also in talks as yet unnamed role, but I'm assuming Simon Doyle.
Release date for Death on the Nile pushed out another ten months, from December 2019 to October 2020. Bummer.

Branagh + All-Star Cast.
The happiest person must be Depp, who is the actor embodiment of "Were Still Relevant Dammit".
