Yep, that warrants a pull.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI wouldn't call that "borderline". Pull.
Check out my fanfiction!Pull it
Pull.
(Annoyed grunt)I got nothing really as a replacment. Everything I find is more specifically a Hikikomori.
and pulled
Don't forget to tag the page. We do this with a hidden comment. Here, I'll do it.
As for the page, should we declare this as BUPKIS? Hard to illustrate without a lampshade.
For reference, here's the old pic:

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI can go with that.
(Annoyed grunt)I'm down for BUPKIS, this is almost going to need a lampshade to get across.
This panel from Scott Pilgrim◊ seems like an OK image to me, although I might not be quite getting the point of this trope.
I don't think it's that bad. I think it hits the right trope, without veering too much into hikki territory.
Check out my fanfiction!Same sentiments. He's playing video games on the couch, but the dialogue implies that he's unemployed but trying to get a job. It works in lieu of anything else imo.
That actually can work!
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope Report12 is good.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?If he is trying to get a job he is NOT a NEET. NEET are specifically people not employed and not seeking employment.
That's my only objection as well.
I think the fact that Scott's claiming to be trying actually helps the image. He's clearly not and just paying lip service about how he is.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Looks less like trying to get a job, and more like "trying" to get a job.

Check out my fanfiction!Yes, that's a better way of putting it. Still works as an image for me.
Its misleading and leads on to something that is specifically NOT the trope.

By that definition any example that ever claims they're trying to get a job are excluded, and should be purged. Which shouldn't be done, so I don't think that objection holds.
Check out my fanfiction! If they are trying to find a job then it should be purged. That is NOT this period.
The suggestion does not give enough context that it is a lie. Also it still looks more on the Hikikomori side even if you get the lie.
