This image did not get enough consensus in the Image Suggestion thread. Other ideas?

Heh, I didn't expect that this one would get through. I only suggested it "just for laughs", as they say.

Still, it was worth a shot, since I thought panels 10-11 illustrated the trope rather concisely. Panel 10 shows Link (a fairly recognizable videogame protagonist) charging forward with a determined look in his eyes and a raised sword, suggesting he's ready for a big epic battle as he heads in the direction of a sign pointing to "Ganon" (a name admittedly less recognizable than Link or Zelda, but again, Link's pose suggests he's ready for battle with whatever "Ganon" is). Then, Panel 11 shows him stopped, surprised, and a lowered sword (all three aspects giving the appearance of "Wait, it's over already?"), as someone (implied to be this "Ganon" fellow) cries out in pain from underneath his shoe. Through visuals alone, panel 10 hypes up a big fight that ends with an anticlimax in panel 11. Additionally, just to make it absolutely clear, the text states that the problem is "it's too easy".

Oh, well. Since it didn't make it through, I'm all ears for other suggestions!

... until SUDDENLY DINOSAURS.

As I recall, whenever one of Hiimdaisy's recaps of Metal Gear Solid games reaches a boss fight, it's always over in a single panel. Maybe one of those would work? For example, the first two panels of the 14th image in this gallery.

Large, intimidating opponent, it's clearly a climactic fight, and the enemy is getting his ass kicked. The only real worry is that, AFAIK, Metal Gear Rex isn't considered particularly easy

[up] Well, the trope is YMMV anyway, so the actual difficulty of the game isn't really a concern.

I'm fine with it barring other suggestions, but I wonder if there's too much overlap with Attack Its Weak Point.

It doesn't seem to illustrate Anti-Climax Boss at all to me. Attack Its Weak Point, on the other hand...

I made this image from the Sega Genesis Incredible Hulk game and its infamous Final Boss. How about it?

[up] That could work with a suitably pointed caption.
