I'm just hoping that most of those are going to wind up on Anime Lab in Australia. A lot of the time they do so, fingers crossed. It's a better set up than Amazon Prime.
I couldn't get past the first five minutes of Black Clover. I've nothing against boiler plate shonen, that stuff can be pretty enjoyable to watch as a low stress thing, but they gave the lead to some newcomer VA and botched the voice direction so that character is now The Most Annoying Thing Ever and I just couldn't take it.
Sure, it's a bit cruel to drop a series just on the earliest of impressions, but if you take the start of a story as a kind of a mission statement and then they fill it with painful screeching, unfunny jokes stretched too long and the classic "she hit him, isn't that funny" I'm just gonna nope out.

While I would agree that it had a terrible first episode and the main character is probably one of the most annoying shounen leads I have seen in a while, I would say that there is a glimmer of potential in Black Clover (even if it is very well hidden) as the setting seems somewhat interesting. Hopefully the MC will calm down a bit as the series progresses.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellI don't know if it's the VA's fault, as I sure didn't need any voice acting to streer clear from this series after reading the first chap. :x
edit: …Okay, the VA's screeching does make him even worse.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I had the exact same reaction. Since I don't like spike haired idiotic leads anyway and the screeching was just painful, the choice to drop this was easily made.
Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte Kara, episode 1… eeeeeh… eh. =[ I'm mixed. On one hand you have a female boss with a House Husband for a change, on the other… it's just Food Porn: Cocktail Edition, with a bit of Generic Cuteness thrown into the mix. Scratch that, it's rather Generic Cuteness with some cocktail thrown into the mix. Not entirely convinced. I'll probably watch a couple more at least, since they're 3 minute shorts anyway.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Black Clover: I like My Hero Academia, so I'm not against recent manga and anime running familiar tropes, but I only got as far as the nun scene before I lost interest in watching this anime. I didn't think Asta's voice would annoy me but holy shit that scream is intolerable.

See, now I need to at least try it to see just how bad it is.
It's been fun.Is it really that bad? Now I'm curious lol.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The worse thing about Asta's scream is the rolling the VA does with it.
It is... it's basically the only way he ever talks, and he adds such a flair to it that it almost sounds like he's proud of being that bad and cliche...
It sounds like a weird raspy scream at all times. I was kind of into it, except that his voice kept yanking me out.
That can't be good for the voice actor's throat.
Not Three Laws compliant.Think Hinata from Haikyuu, but really obnoxious.
I never watched Haiyakuu sooo.
In any case I watched it...and good god, it is bad. If he was a side character, I could tolerate it...but naw, as the main character. Fuck that noise. I'm out.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Damn it, now I have to check out Black Clover
...Some interesting visuals (if not animation quality), but the writing is pretty dire. And, yeah, Asta's voice is awful
Meanwhile, Juuni Taisen is pretty great. Great animation, good direction, and sharp writing. Like Fate with less spectacle and more fucked-up-ness

To be honest, even without the voice, Black Clover doesn't have a lot going for it. It's every shounen cliche, being thrown at you the most uninspired way possible, not a hint of creativity running throughout. The voice makes things a lot worse, yeah, but I don't think I would watch this even without it.
That's basically all his dialogue, isn't it?

It's a lot of it yeah.
x3
From the way people were talking I was expecting a lot worse. I found that more hilarious than annoying. Not sure I'll watch it though because I've heard mixed things about the manga.

The crazy thing is that SJ are constantly hyping it up as the next big thing similar to what they tried with Toriko by promoting it alonside One Piece and My Hero Academia.
They really want another Big three huh.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation have also gone all in on trying to hype up this series as well
Well it was a good time for them. No wonder they want a repeat.
Although it should just be called the Big Two by now. One Piece is a constant at this point. It will always be there... continuing.

Wow, that is pretty bad. It wouldn't be awful as a sometimes thing, but it looks like the character writing and the voice direction are both 'do the typical shonen idiot hero thing, forever'.
Also, anime looks weird in 60FPS.
It's been fun. It's really just One Piece that's consistently getting top ranks these days. Even My Hero Academia bounces around a bit
Black Clover is fairly popular, though and been around long enough that they can really do things with it
Surprised they're not pushing Kimetsu No Yaiba more, though
Arrr, Matey!
