• Magic power(s): Inertia negation/manipulation. Has the ability to slow things down and/or speed them up by increasing or decreasing the amount of inertia they have acting upon them.
• Emotion: Fear
• Appearance: Tian is a small goblin about 2’9, with a round-ish face and surprisingly dull teeth, considering his ancestry. His skin is green-ish grey, and he has two red horns poking from the sides of his head, above his ears. His red hair is medium length, usually covering his brown eyes, his ears and horns pointing out from it. When he feels confident, he wears feminine clothes like skirts and blouses, but usually he just wears sweats and T-shirts.
• Personality: Tian is shy, assuming that other people won’t want anything to do with him; something that was true back home. He hardly ever gets mad, his first reaction when something bad happens to him is to shrink inward or hide, or both.
• Backstory: Growing up, Tian’s mother, who had him both out of wedlock and with a Daemon, a being of pure evil incarnate, disowned him and he was forced to live in an orphanage for his early life, until he was adopted by a couple, two women, an orc and a goblin. They treated him well and he was happy for a long time, but still found little acceptance among his peers. The only real friend he ended up getting was Rzek, another goblin boy. He only came out as a boy about 4 months ago, and both of his parents were accepting, but most of his peers, still not accepting the whole born-from-pure-evil thing, didn’t accept that either. One of them tried to physically attack him, but suddenly found his punches unable to land, simply bouncing off. Tian, he realized, had his magical spark, and learned of his power: Inertia manipulation.
• Relations: Rzek is Tian’s only friend, and Tian has a huge crush on him. When he learned they were both going to magic school, he was ecstatic.

There's demons (malevolent servants of evil) and daemons (independent agents of chaos). Both are aligned with the Darkness and are generally considered really bad news. These types wouldn't be accepted to Blue Skies, but their offspring would (so half-demons/daemons are fair game, as seen above)

There's also giants, which in this verse are shapeshifters that can shrink themselves to more humanish proportions (like in the norse myths). The shapeshifting might be a bit much in addition to the sorcerer magic, so if you go with this one it might be better to make them a half-giant or otherwise cripple their giant powers in some way.

I also forgot to mention Drow, the dark elves, which aren't as stigmatized as the ones above but do tend to fall under the generally unliked category.

Hey guys, sorry I've been absent the last few days! I'll explain what's been going on in better detail when I can, but for now I just wanted to say I'm officially starting the RP around this time tomorrow!

Rest assured though, signups aren't closing. I know there's at least two of you who haven't finished their sheets yet, so I'll still be accepting characters even after the RP's going.

Hey, it's me! Rzek!

• Name: Rzek (No last name given).
• Gender: Male.
• Race: Goblin, deriving from lizardfolk
• Homeworld: Underland
• Magic power(s): Fire; He has the ability to create infernos from his palms, as well as make himself invulnerable to flames for a short period of time (only 1 minute). He also has an Elemental of his creation, which he calls Paul. Paul is only an extension of his own power in some ways. His flames aren't half as powerful as Rzek's. However, he is capable of staying in flames indefinitely thanks to his Element.
• Emotion: Anger, but he tries to keep it hidden.
• Appearance: Rzek is a small creature, only being 3'2''. With his yellow-orange scales and tail, he's not quite noteworthy for a goblin. He is, however, notable for seeming to only wear flannel all the time. Blue flannel, red flannel. He seems to be something of a connoisseur of flannel.
• Personality: Rzek is, mostly, very shy. However, he also has a lot of deep-rooted anger. He tends to blow up because of this when things get serious. But, despite that, he tries very hard to seem cheerful and optimistic most of the time, mostly for fear of freaking out on his friends. Thankfully because of this, he does become cheerful a lot.
• Backstory: Growing up in Underland, Rzek was slightly sheltered. He didn't have many friends except for one. A Tiefling Goblin named Tian. They did everything together, but along his life, he got inevitably angry. Instead of venting it healthily, however, he let it build up inside him. This backfired horribly one day when, for reasons he can't remember, he completely blew up at Tian. During his bout of yelling and screaming, he somehow summoned his Elemental for the first time. Since then, he's been working on his powers since. He's hoping to go to school to train himself better, and not freak out as badly.
• Relations: Rzek is childhood friends with Tian. He, however, is not aware of Tian's feelings towards him. To Rzek, they're just friends.

Here we go! Hoping to hop on board with a quiet Lizardfolk character.

Name:

Thistle. He does have a name in his native tongue, but because it’s all but unintelligible to humans and other non-lizardfolk, he’s taken to using the closest equivalent. Him actually telling you what his full name is- even if you don’t understand it- is a sign that he really, really likes you.

Gender:

Male.

Age:

Nineteen.

Race:

Lizardfolk.

Homeworld:

Underland, with a large group of close and distant relations; the closest word to what he would consider the arrangement to be would be a “town.”

Magic power(s):

Shadow magic permeates Thistle, aligning himself with Darkness rather than Nature, as most Lizardfolk are. The effects of such magic are a lot more subtle than one might inspect- instead of raising the dead or stopping hearts, his fundamental distrust of creatures different than him- fueled by the dangerous environment he grew up in- helps him avoid notice and communicate with those most likely to help him.

• When Thistle isn’t moving in darkness, it is extremely hard to see him unless he speaks up or makes a physical movement. His footsteps and breathing are also almost silent, which have come in handy avoiding predators and keeping himself hidden.

• In addition, creatures naturally aligned with darkness can understand his speech, and are more inclined to consider him a friend or not a threat. This ranges from something like a Shadow Mastiff viewing him as a packmate or source of help, to a more intelligent Shadow Demon or Daemon not killing him no sight.

Appearance:

Thistle is tall compared to a human, and average sized for a lizardfolk. Standing at just about 6’4, he would tower over most non-giant species… that is, if he didn’t stood so much. His scales were originally a dark green with splashes of black; however, in light of discovering his abilities, that seems to have started to shift. His green scales have turned darker, almost black, and his black ones have lightened to an almost green. Thistle has a medium-length tail that tapers off to a whip-thin end, and has a reptilian head and even-teeth. He also has black and green frills.

Personality:

• Thistle is quiet and observant. He tends to dislike being the center of attention, and- when thrown into the spotlight without warning- is rather shy. He distrusts other species, and prefers to rely on himself when possible.

• Although he doesn’t like humans, elves, or other common sights, he has valid reasons for being “racist-” although lizardfolk aren’t as disliked as some species, they aren’t popular, and multiple unpleasant encounters- and a couple of dangerous ones- have convinced him to keep to himself and try to avoid attracting attention.
• Thistle likes to read, as well as hunt. He also likes to cook. All three of his main interests seem to fit well together- he has the skills to measure out ingredients and find recipes, he can get meat and other materials that other people might have trouble finding, and he has the cooking know-how to put it all together.

Backstory:

Thistle was highly-educated for a lizardfolk. Although almost all of his kind can read, most can’t speak anything other than their native tongue, and most can’t read the writing of other races. He was a good hunter, although not the best in his town. Life was rather good for him. It was around his sixteenth birthday when he discovered that his sorcerous talents. Most lizardfolk, when discovering or learning magical abilities, tend towards nature magic and more obvious displays of force. As such, his talents briefly went unnoticed.

They became startlingly obvious when he tamed a Shadow Serpent- a snake with a deadly bite that, if not treated, could kill within hours. As he continued to train, he discovered new abilities. His footsteps were muffled; he could almost vanish in dim light. He could speak with dark monsters. So when he got what seemed like an invitation to Blue Skies Academy, he… didn’t leap at the chance, honestly. But after some thought, he decided to attend.

It would be worth it. Right?

Relations: Other than his parents and family, and a couple of friends in his town in Underland, no one that would have too much bearing on the plot.

Name: Eleonore Steiner (Although she's insists people call her Leona.)

Gender:Female.

Age: 18

Race: Human

Homeworld: Gaia

Magic power(s):

• Solid Light Projection: Exactly as it's named. Leona is able to make solid constructs out of light. It's been noted that Leona has some problems manifesting walls of solid light without the aid of a something that can be used as a shield, most likely as a result of a mental pitfall/block.

• Natural Enhancement: She's essentially able to make either herself or others stronger and/or faster, etc. It can extend to multiple people, but the effort is increased exponentially each time.

Emotion: Faith

Appearance: Eleonore is of about average height for a human, with midnight hair that reaches just past her shoulders, contrasting her fair skin. Her eyes are a piercing, vivid green. Casually, she wears a flowing peach shirt and a navy blue skirt and sneakers, and her hair free-flowing. When trouble is expected though, or for ceremonies, she wears a chain shirt and pants with a steel chestplate and upper leg pieces, along with gauntlets. Her hair is normally tied back or held back with a hairband.

Personality: Eleonore is a friendly, outgoing person. Given her background and family, one might expect her to be aloof and condescending, but she isn't...well, not a lot. She holds high standards of both herself and others, and often expects them to adhere to them. Bubbly and yet composed at the same time, she's supportive of any and everyone, even strangers, often to the point of overbearing, forcing her beliefs and ways onto them, something of a zealot. In her words, she's "There to show people the right way.", often according to her standards. She has a seething hate of creatures associated with darkness, though she knows better than to attack non-hostile ones on sight. Still, she can barely hide her distaste for them when around them. It's something of a holdover of her upbringing. Still...she's protective in general, and would even go so far as to protect a creature of darkness on occasion if she doesn't have a reason to personally hate them.

Backstory: Eleonore Steiner was born into the Steiner family, a family long known for it's service in the Order of The Corona, a sect of holy knights dedicated to protecting people from the forces of darkness such as demons. Eleonore was...to say, a disappointment at first, far behind her peers in training. She didn't care much for the divine side of the teachings, and the knight side of the teachings was something she was sub-par to average at. However, Leona drew heart from using her mother as an example, fostering the faith that she could one day equal her mother and using it as a drive to improve herself. In a rite of passage to prove her worth at the age of 16, her magical powers awoke when she needed to shield herself from what would have been the final blow, a barrier of solid light appearing in front of her to block the blow of imminent failure, her faith in herself the trigger.

• This power of hers was noted by her family and superiors, who immediately elevated her to a position of "Paragon", granted to all in the Order who possess light-based magical abilities. Ironically, this trigger event catalyzed by faith made her doubt herself more than before, with the new expectations put on her. With this in mind and knowing she wasn't going to get anywhere by herself, she decided to attend Blue Skies Academy of Sorcery to better herself and learn more about magic, not just of her own kind, but others.

Relations: The Steiner family, especially her mother, who Leona looks up to and aims to emulate.

Equipment:

• Gleaming Pelt: The shield that Eleonore carries around and has brought along to help her with channeling walls of light due to a mental pitfall. It's a silver heater shield with the blue insignia of a lion's head on it. It's carried in the hand, and has a secret button on the top of the grip that flips the shield so that it's parallel to arm instead of perpendicular, the curved top extending just past her fist for impromptu punching or just a different blocking stance. It also serves as a symbol of honour as a Paragon of the Order of The Corona.

These all look good, though there's a few things I'll have to mention later - nothing major, just things about the verse that would be relevant to your characters. Until then though, welcome aboard!

Gender: Male.

Age: 18, almost 19.

Race: Humany human!

Homeworld: Earth.

Magic power(s): Jacob has the talent of spatial manipulation, allowing him to step through space itself, and arrive anywhere else, similar to teleportation. He is also able to pull objects from 'space', but he must know the object from either a portrait, or actually have the object. Not only that, but the mass of an object can physically tax him, meaning that if he wanted to summon something around the size of your general automobile, he'd be tired as heck afterwards.

Emotion: Rage.

Appearance: Jacob Demitri has short brown hair, blue eyes, and is clean shaven. He's a tall, skinny boy with only a slight build of musculature. He can often be found in casual clothes, some of which horrendously clash.

Personality: Jacob Demitri is lazy. He's smug, he's brilliant, and he likes to claim to hold the answers to all the big questions. However, the moment he loses control over what's going on, he can show some panic. Should one rip him into a frenzy, he'll likely manage to internalize it.

He's cocky, he's smug, he's a prankster, and he's utterly paranoid due to certain incidents. Should one manage to crack his calm facade however, he will go ballistic. Not recommended, due to the likelihood of his powers going wild.

Backstory: Jacob Demitri lives in a rather average family. One mom, one dad, and two brothers. His life was amazingly boring.

At least, until he turned fifteen. For you see, siblings like to bicker over the most trivial of things, and sometimes, when bickering gets to a certain point, one sibling throws a punch and gets transported to the edge of the roof of your house.

After that incident was cleared up with his parents, Jacob began to experiment. He made items vanish, he made items reappear, and he generally screwed around with the limits of his powers.

After around three years, nearing four however, his days of messing with people and flaunting his powers behind the backs of others ended, as a single letter came.

Naturally, his parents whom had long since figured out about his powers jumped at the chance to send him, assuming that there he would meet others like him.

After a short, yet civilized debate on how the use of his talents could be constructive, Jacob agreed.

Then, he passed out from the exhaustion of teleporting the dishwasher, a sofa, and the TV out onto the front lawn.
