I don't see that the Ratatouille one works, unless you know the work. The other one, looks more dumb than "welcoming". At least in the current, Maggie is reaching for the rat and neither of her parents are reacting poorly to it.

At best, it suggest that Maggie's holding out her hands in their presence, and that Homer isn't visibly showing concern, not that he's necessarily "adoring" them.
Yeah, I suppose a literal infant wouldn't be aware of the disease risk, though even then, I think we can do better.
