>You wanna know why Disney hasn't done anything new on Roger Rabbit?
Because they are very risk averse and don't think it would make them lots and lots money?
New theme music also a boxDon't be clickbaity. The article lists a number of reasons why the sequel hasn't happened, and all that it says in regard to Jessica is that the executives don't like her.
If this is true, I can totally see why.
x2, it ain't clickbait if its coming from the director's mouth himself.
The title is clicky baity
New theme music also a boxYeah, that title is definitely clickbaity. He spends more time in that article talking about how hard it is to do sequels than about Jessica, who is briefly mentioned offhand in the same sentence that he mentions Roger, too, is disliked.
It's also mentioned that they'd have to digitally resurrect Bob Hoskins to, ironically, play his own ghost. Which, the more I think about it, might actually work because the idea of using CGI to bring a dead actor back to life to play a dead character strikes me as really funny rather than the outrageous that I was originally going for..

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Please don't make garbage threads like this.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I didn't mean to make it sound clickbaity. I tend to have a habit of reading things too fast. My error. Can someone edit the topic so that it just shows that Zemeckis is just having 'trouble'(and I'm just putting this mildly) when it comes to pitching anything Roger related at Disney?
Personally, the Roger Rabbit sequel I want to see would be set in the 60s and have Roger deal with the world of tv animation, but I dont know how that would work, and it would likely not have as many cameos as the first one.

This is something you can discuss in the general Disney/Pixar thread.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I've thought about that. It sounds pretty great.
The idea of a Roger Rabbit sequel being potentially unprofitable is baffling to me, though. The original was a smash hit and won four Academy Awards (all technical, of course, but it oughta count for something). They should at least make a new short to test the waters—I'm sure it would come as a delightful surprise to most people.
Besides, Gary Wolf recently suggested that the sequel is still being talked about.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?It'd be difficult to do a sequel justice with Bob Hoskins dead. And Disney just isn't willing to commit to a big classically animated project these days.
I think I heard they said that if they did a sequel they would have to bring Hoskins back as a CGI ghost to make it work as a joke.
Let's take this to the Disney/Pixar thread.
