I bet Magane is perfectly willing to bite her opponents if pressed.
Thinking of Yuuya, he's the rival and final boss of his series, but nothing says he's the villain as such. I'm thinking he's Chaotic Neutral in the sense of "my personal freedom is the most important thing, and considerations of whether this hurts or helps other people are at my whim." Whereas the hero is probably a more Good type who has to bring him around to living within boundaries at the end.
Yeah, she's definitely right out of a Nisio story. She reminds me of Kumagawa mixed with Oshino Ougi. I can't but feel like she's significantly worse written though, which is a shame. A lot of the appeal of those characters was the way their lies seemed to reveal unpleasant truths and poke at the weaknesses of the heroes, and so far anyway I'm not so sure she's managing that. If all the audience is getting out of her so far is "she's clearly the real villain" then I think the writing of her has failed to be the archetype she seems to be aiming for.
I don't think she's the villain, btw. I mean, she's a villain, obviously, but she's guided by her whims rather than any ideals so she wouldn't be adverse to playing along if it seems fun. Token Evil Teammate

Bargain-bin Nisio Isin sounds about right.
She is rather enjoyable though. "Do you mean my period?" cracked me up more than I care to admit. I imagine she'll be sort of like the mini-boss whose antics will help Altair get stuff done in the background.
Old guy, erm, Blitz Talker also gets some more screentime. Kinda disappointed he can fly and shoot gravity bombs, woulda been cool if he was just a super-strong badass old guy with a really strong gun.
Mamika remains my favorite thing in the show. Go shove some magical hearts down them throats!
In related news, I'm burning with an urge to write fanfic. Eugh.

And like that, things get even MORE meta.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareYep. Gonna start looking into Re:Creators fanfics, which I imagine can get pretty bonkers since they don't have to worry too much about licensing and crap, so they can shove whoever they want in there.

Now I want a story where they realize they are trapped in a fanfic because the story got illogical, everyone acts out of character and there's a newcomer character who's a total mary sue.
Let's not stop there. How about Kirito waking up in the Re:Creators verse after clearing SAO? Or a Jojo character. Someone from One Piece. Kyubey from Madoka. Light from Death Note. The potato chips from Death Note. Titans from Shingeki no Kyojin. The K-On quintet dimensionally displaced during their London trip.
And that's not all! Have Character X clash against her Mary Sue fanfic version. Or an LN character facing off against his butchered anime adaptation version! Plop a VN yandere-type heroine into this verse, her one true love out of reach. The possibilities are endless.
WE NEED TO GO DERPER
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareYoung relatively happy Celestia from the early anime vs. bitter, traumatized Celestia from where the light novels are now.
...and the one that was brought to "the world of Gods" and spoiled about what the LN one lived through by Marine.

That's the one I consider young and relatively happy.
Yeah, I find it kind of bizarre actually that so many of these characters can fly. It's not that common of a power for fictional characters. Selestia also stands out to me as someone who probably wouldn't be able to fly in the kind of story she seems to be from. The writers seem to being using it as shorthand for "fictional" though, because it makes it super-obvious that they don't belong in this world.
New episode is out.
Megane continues to reinforce my theory she's the real big bad. Mamika and Sota look like an unfortunately cute couple. Yuuya joins the hero team as was foreshadowed by the ED.
Sota - keeps the most important piece of info from his allies, tells his enemy because she said please. -__-
Standard protagonist fair really
So a yankee and a mecha pilot are totally broing out.
MY MIND

OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareGilphon was correct last page, Magane thinks it's bullshit that she can't fly.
Can Meteora be considered a Rei Ayanami Expy? First episode pairing her with Selesia seemed to suggest this a bit.
Also, how awfully convenient for Sota's mother to never show up again.
"Effective Altruism" is just another bunch of horsesh*t.Eh... Meteora is The Spock and has the right hair for a Rei, but she's also an optimist and tends to take the lead rather than following quietly, which don't really fit the archetype.

My favorite part of the episode.
I'm also glad that the chubby creator guy found out about Altair on his own, and I hope they trace her back to Sota so they can make him spill it. Hey, if Mamika can make him talk, they probably can too.
The biggest travesty was that the ufotable cafe did not have actual UFO-shaped tables.

I haven't been watching this show but this video dropped today and now I'm kind of interested in checking it out.

I dropped the series out of boredom, honestly, so I wouldn't really give that video much credit.

Watch SymphogearThis series is pretty great and you should check it out.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I tried. Meteora's exposition really got boring after a while and everyone just agreeing with her speculation made me feel really suspect.
I might come back to it later.

The production committee must be really sure of this series' success with all the merchandise they've made so far. Merchandise for characters that have pretty much no backstory, outside of their fictional ones we probably will never get to see. Unless it's all some sort of very "meta" kind of thing.
Or maybe they're pushing the characters because they're obviously based on well-known anime properties, so they're counting on already existing fanbases... who knows? Anyway it feels kind of strange, to me at least.
It's also funny how MUP is the character who's receiving the most real-life fanarts, while being a fanart character in her own show too. It seems they definitely know their audience!
"Effective Altruism" is just another bunch of horsesh*t.
