Really a Useful Note: The Other Rainforest

This page describes the Pacific temperate rainforests but there is no trope involved. The first line in paragraph 4 ("Whenever something is supposedly set in Washington, you can almost guarantee it is Vancouver Doubling.") suggests this could be similar to California Doubling but this idea is not followed up. The examples are of the kind "Work X is set in Oregon".

Should we turn this into a UN and cut the wicks? Other ideas?

Sounds exactly like a Useful Note to me.

I'd prefer UsefulNotes.Pacific Northwest if we go that way, to make the title clearer.

As it currently stands, Pacific Northwest is a redirect to the article, so it can easily be retargeted.

^ Wicks should be cut if used as a trope, as is standard when pages are moved to Useful Notes.

I prefer keeping the examples inside the trope page.

I suggest keeping the examples in The Other Rainforest.

Unless this discusses specific ways the location is depicted in fiction, then it's more Useful Note material. Our location-based tropes discuss particular ways places are depicted in fiction, such as depictions that are either stereotypical or contain themes shared among works.

Edit: I took a closer look at The Other Rainforest page and its description reads like a Useful Note, particularly the parts about local companies and other things that can be found there.

On the one hand, that crowner says nothing about a rename. On the other hand, we don't do renames for the sake of renaming so I'll hook it.

The crowner for Useful Notes? Yes, it's settled.

But I don't believe we've officially decided on what to title the page.

Septimus said that we don't rename things for the sake of renaming. I don't like the name, but nobody has offered any valid arguments for a rename, which would have to happen before we even consider the possibility.

(And no, I can't think of one off the top of my head, unfortunately.)
