Opened. The merge idea seems fine with me.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI assume if we merge, any tropes and quotes under Space Does Not Work That Way will be moved to Artistic License - Astronomy?
If so, got my vote to merge. Do we cut or redirect?
Example-less index that overlaps heavily with Artistic License - Astronomy. Apparently this is supposed to be errors concerning "space itself" as opposed to "the study of space."
I vote to merge the pages (and make Space Does Not Work That Way a redirect based on the inbounds). I think the index stuff would be pretty easy to move, but is there anything in the description worth keeping?
There is already as Sandbox.Artistic License Astronomy page to move the tropes and such. I made that sandbox for the examples section, but we might as well use it for all of it.

Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyWouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think it should be done so I vote for as much of a merge as we can do cleanly.
However, taking a better look at the tropes lists, there isn't a clean 100% overlap, many of the tropes on SDNWTW are about space travel or space warfare, or how people experience space when they're in it, rather tha astronomy, so I think that perhaps what needs to be done is to merge what can be merged, then rename SDNWTW to Artistic License In Space, or something like that.
That would be continuing a large-scale long-term clean-up that was approved Here and Here. It's ...tangled.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Should there be a crowner for this thread?
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but all play and no work makes Jack a mere boyProbably, at least to decide what to call the page for the tropes that don't fit into AL Astronomy. And a bunch of them don't.
Despite having said "AL In Space" above, after reflection, I think that would be a very bad choice, since that makes it sound like it's related to the "In Space" trope, which it isn't at all.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Maybe Artistic License Astrophysics can work?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThat's a good possibility...
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Should our crowner be about suggesting a new name for this trope?
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but all play and no work makes Jack a mere boyIf a new name is confirmed, then its laconic page needs to be launched with a lock for the same reason as for the laconics to the other Artistic License tropes.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but all play and no work makes Jack a mere boyI don't know some of these are not 'Artistic license' instead its Space Science Marches On
That's two suggestions. Keep 'em coming.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.So this is a supertrope to Artistic License - Astronomy? (At least as I interpret Madrugada's words)
We don't need justice when we can forgive. We don't need tolerance when we can love. No, for two reasons: 1) Astronomy and astrophysics are different and 2) all the Artistic License X tropes are on the same level right now.
We might at some point get to where we have AL subtropes to AL tropes (AL: Volcanos would be a subtrope to AL: Geology, for instance. Or AL : Hurricanes to AL: Meteorology.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Clock is set. Crowner?

I posted in Ask The Tropers that there is already Artistic License - Astronomy, and that this trope is using the old suffix for Artistic License tropes. Also, Madrugada changed the laconic page for it to eliminate the forbidden "X DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! GOODNIGHT!" meme. Should that trope be merged with Artistic License - Astronomy as Madrugada proposed in my ATT post?
