That's a guy standing in a field. I recommend this one instead.

Yeah, that's definitely better than the current.

It's definitely an improvement. What's that inside the O in "love", though?

Nothing related to the gesture.

Better than current, certainly. It's from the Futurama episode "Time Keeps On Slippin'" if it gets used.

How does it look at wiki size?

Coz my worry is it'll just look like a bunch of orange dots which won't mean anything to anyone without context.

My worry at wiki size is how the stars will look.

As you can see, I've cropped it somewhat.

It looks like just dots, not space or a night sky. I am not fond of this. Like, it looks just like a sign.

[up] Couldn't that argument apply to the original suggestion? The quality didn't change that much in the crop.

At least the field of flower fits the "grand" part

At wiki size, the futurama one looks like a sign lazily drawn. You'd need a caption to say each dot is a star, and at that point that makes it equal to the current (where both need a caption to grasp contect). I'm not calling the current great, but between the two, it's the least bad.

"I moved the stars themselves to write her a love note in the sky!"

I don't see why the picture needs to be cropped.

I agree with Ghilz. The current is better than the suggestion.

Alternatives from current work: [1], [2]

14.2 is very good [tup] Still don't know why 14.1 is an example, though.

14.1 It's not a field, it's a parking lot he's covered in flowers.

I like 14.2 Hell, the last panel alone works fine since it's clearly skywriting.

[up] But you can't tell it's a parking lot with that pic, so it doesn't work.

I wasn't arguing it worked either? You asked why It's an example, I gave you context.

Current is pretty bad, I'd vote to remove it regardless.

Of the alternatives offered, I find Futurama the clearest so far, specifically the non-crop in 12. Danny Devito is cool as well, but the whole thing is a bit cluttered. Took me a while to notice he was holding a rose, for instance.

I must admit I made a mistake in cropping the Futurama image. All the same, my preference is 14.2.

14.2 gets my vote.

My question though, can we just use the last pannel of 14.2? I don't really see the need for the first.

Personally I find 14.2 off-putting. The way it's lighted/filtered just creates this bizarre Uncanny Valley vibe.
