I also found this to be a fantastic series on the whole, being an anime where it's best to take the characters and themes at face value.

[up][up]That last character thing isn't really much of a problem, it ain't like the series ever lost its shadow.

[up] For sure: this was a series that was very clear about what it wanted to do, and stick with it very well.

It set up a big plot but it never paid off at all. It would have been so much better if they hadn't set up the mom at all and just did everything as is. It is an absolutely stupid artificial reason and they made such a gd big deal out of it too.

Hell just pay it off in the end and move on onto a different arc in S2.

So, it was just an...ending?

Maybe mother wasn't that important compared to fan-service.

Then why make such a big deal about it nearly every episode? I mean if they make it part of episode one and such as backstory and never mention it again it would be just fine but its so wrapped around Chiya that it isnt even funny.

That aspect is where the series really didn't know what it wants to be, If it was just a Slice of Life series they really shouldnt have added something like that, a more plot based show should have paid off on it even in a minor way.

That wasn't a response to your post, that was just...what I thought after watching the episode 30 minutes ago.

It was just a typical ending...nothing special.

What a nice final episode: cute, funny and keeping with themes and tones of the series. The show did a good job of knowing what's it's about and sticking with it. All characters were fun and I enjoyed the adventures of Chiya and her friends.

Urara Meirochou was perhaps the biggest pleasant surprise of the season for me, and I hope it gets a second season, especially since the story is far from over.

Episode 12 was just a straight-up fanservice episode with a Sequel Hook at the end that I sincerely hope it follows up on. Urara Meirochou 2: Urara Academia???

Also Nina x Saku. Lots and lots of ninaku.

0% surprised that Matsuko sheds.

Second or third-best Kirara anime after K-On! (hard to beat a masterpiece) and possibly Anne Happy (not sure which I prefer between Anne Happy and Urara, it's been a while).

I also wasn't a fan of the whole Chiya's mom plot, but I'm not quite so salty about it. evil grin I suppose it was a tool for other parts of Chiya's development that I was much more into, such as the demons that have a grudge against her, and Kurou. Those are great.

Nono and Koume are best girls, but they're all super good.

I don't know whether or not I can afford this, so someone should buy it for theirself in my spirit. I'd almost certainly buy it if it were Nono or Koume.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Chiya's mother seems to be more of an initial motivation of sorts: the real adventure is the one that she shares with Kon, Koume and Nono. This one was presented very nicely, so I've no complaints.

I like the plot with Chiya's mom. It gives Chiya a motivation to push forward and establishes bigger mysteries in the background. It works well for the kind of story this is.

Having fun after a grueling exam is but of course the logical next step.

Yep, Nono looks great in Koume's outfit.[tup] Reminded me of Wilbell.

Matsuko...what are you really?[lol]

Hm, I expected Chiya and pals to be under new tutelage. Bet that won't stop Nina and company from appearing frequently.

So yeah, another decent Kirara anime.

Same. Plus we know that Chiya's mom is most likely in the 1st District while the girls themselves are limited to being in the 9th and 10th Districts. It makes perfect sense that the mystery of Chiya's mom hasn't been solved yet because the girls are nowhere near her and it's too early into the series to solve everything.

Yeah, by now I'm convinced that Chiya's mother is actually the Legendary Urara and she lives in that giant tower in the middle of the town.
