Yeah, it's illustrating the title and not the trope...makes me wonder if this might need a run through TRS for misuse.
Lots of examples don't have the proper context to differentiate them between the trope and the trope title.
Image is misleading. Pull.

Check out my fanfiction!Pull it.
(Annoyed grunt)EDIT: On second thought, too vulgar an option to even be worthwhile. I'm not really sure with what to replace this.

Last two panels of [1]?
Works great!
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportVery good.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"That's not the trope either.
Check out my fanfiction!Or perhaps you are reading the trope too narrow? I'd say all it takes here is a boss commanding an assistant around to do servant work or anything irrelevant to what they were hired for.
No, I'm just reading what's actually written. I don't see any hopes being smashed, and it's completely ignoring the first half of the rather poor trope description.
Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, that's really not capturing the essence of the trope.
Agreed. The trope isn't just "person is assigned a menial task." It's "Person hopes to be assigned something important, is instead assigned a menial task."

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Bumping after a few days... anyone else have any suggestions? Or thoughts on the current suggestions?
Bumping again after another couple weeks... we really need to decide what kind of image would best demonstrate this, before we decide which works to look up to demonstrate it.
Voting to close this thread, since we don't have consensus on anything.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Agreed. I think this would've been at the clocking point anyway if not for the last bump.
Agree with closing this tread as pointless.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Close it.
(Annoyed grunt)So closing.

Multiple problems here. One, the picture is small and artifacted. Two, it's also incredibly literal. The dialogue-y title of this trope isn't helping. Specifically, this is about someone who thinks they've been assigned something important, but instead are forced to do something tedious instead. This pic doesn't show that person's hopes being dashed. It's just someone telling some unseen person to get them a drink.
