I concur. Currently watching some guys at my college trying out the new characters & they all look fun as Hell though BP's Ultimate is a little underwhelming.
Really sad this game wasn't given better development time
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah it seems they spent more time on gameplay but forgoed the other stuff like visuals or story or really anyhing else which would have appealed to the casual crowd resulting in this game kinda bombing. It's sad too as you can appeal to both casual and competitive, you just need to take a balanced approach.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."With the gameplay being as polished as it is, I'm starting to think that the dev team/game designers were probably the main (if not only) part of this game that wanted to make a good, worthy Marvel vs Capcom game, while the higher-ups/publishers (basically whoever funded them) seemed more interested in making a cash grab around the name. Especially if that video about the development problems was true, and that the higher ups kept pushing forward all the questionable decisions (like making Sigma, Panther, and Monster Hunter into DLC instead of putting them in the base roster) thinking they weren't a big deal until the Chun-Li's Face/character model issue blew up (at which point it was probably too late to substantially change everything without significantly delaying the game).
It's created a weird scenario where there's obviously some love put into Infinite (which is one of the reasons people who love the gameplay want the game to actually succeed), but almost everything surrounding its presentation and content handling suggests that it was being treated as if it were one of Marvel's mobile games.
On a different note, I'm thinking I'm going to get this on PC, and maybe buy it again on PS 4 if there's every an Updated Re-release like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Mostly because of the modding scene; I really don't like this game's music (and I care way too much about game music). Basically, I'm more bothered by how it sounds rather than being bugged by how generic/uninspired like a lot of other folks seem to be. This mostly came about after watching Max's stream this morning where he had modded the game with different music, and replaced almost all of the Marvel side themes with their MVC 3 themes (though I remember seeing Zero, and I couldn't tell if it was his MVC 3 version or the Infinite version because they sound so similar to me). I can't say I especially loved Marvel 3's music all that much (other than the "Dynamic" music, which replaced character themes with rather bland stage themes, the tracks weren't bad at all, and were very catchy, but I preferred Marvel 2's oddly jazzy soundtrack), but the difference in quality between the previous title and Infinite's is ridiculous. There's just seems to be a lot more variation in 3 that's not there in Infinite.
...At some point I'm going to need to listen to Infinite's music and really compare them, because it's hard for me to judge it during fights.
They're all wispy electronic remixes on Capcom and generic orchestra on Marvel.
Honestly wasn't a fan of most of the Marvel 3 music, either, but it definitely dipped in quality and variety with this one. Movie theme songs just don't work in fighting games.
Why didn't they try to sample or homage some of the songs from Guardians of the Galaxy for Rocket and Gamora's themes? I mean, it's not like sampling or paying homage to western rock or pop songs was uncommon for fighting games. Because if there's one Marvel series that was adverse to the standard orchestral music, it was Guardians of the Galaxy.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Funnily enough, Rocket Raccoon was one of the few characters to have an orchestra soundtrack in 3.
I like a lot of the Marvel 3 thremes in 8-bit form, but the instrumentation doesn't do a lot for me.
In the new game, I mostly just like Dr. Strange's theme so far.
P.S I have a feeling this might've been posted here already
That was posted long ago, and it's pretty clearly fake at that point.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...@ 5260 F Rizer
Dude, seriously? That shit is fake as it gets. There's plenty things wrong with the game but they're not that bias with Marvel. If anything was actually real on that list, Chun-Li's face would've been never fixed.
I'm still surprise no 1 modded the characters to have their MVC 3 voices.
Remember when fake leakers at least made an effort to seem legit?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!If PC vesion modding were working already, I would like the mod that deletes or compresses all the FMV's.
edit: Wait, there is already, except they'll be redownloaded when the game updates. Dang.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!@5263 comicwriter
But the Injustice 2 leak was legit, & there was that time some release that fake MVC 4 game that had Ant-Man, Rashid, & Gwen Pool.
Why? Do they slow down the game or something?
Nah they just take up tons of space for a mode I never use again. Deleting them saves 26GB+.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Which leak did Injustice 2 get?
Cause I only know the one for the DLC roster which Ed Boon instantly said was wrong.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I remember even at the time I said those leaked screens looked fake because the Ant-Man model was taken from one of the mobile games and the user interface was completely different.
How are the new characters?
I plan on getting them this weekend so that my friend and I can try them out. I'm just curious to hear what people are saying about them.
I might even get the Donte skin as it does look better than the default skin.
Dante's model is awful in this game. He looks like a crack addict.
I'm kinda curious as to why in these games that Capcom loves to use the DMC 3 design. I'm not a big fan of that design. I prefer the DMC 1/DMC 4 look.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!@5267 Malco
Can't argue with that logic.
@5268 slimcoder
I'll have to find it on Eventhubs again. Maybe google could make it easier but I doubt it. The leak was about the the starting roster & people already guessed correctly that Mr. Freeze would be an alt for Captain Cold.
@5269 comicwriter
And yet that still isn't all to different from the actual game's graphic & I usually don't care about graphics. *sigh*
I'm having fun with them so far, but they're not exactly the characters that's going to save the game.

The DLC characters are great. Sigma is a monster. Monster Hunter and Black Panther are fantastic. Monster Hunter is probably my favorite, gameplay-wise, but Sigma is my favorite overall. Not to shortchange Black Panther. I just wanted a heavy character to balance out my other frequented characters.
I also got all of the costumes because they're great and buying them piecemeal would have been too pricey.
I used all the new characters for the first time yeaterday when playing the game with 2 of my friends and it's amazing how fun they are. One of my friends really likes using Monster Hunter, another really likes Black Panther, and I absolutely love Sigma, his moveset combined with his voice actor who's clearly having a ton of fun makes him a joy for me to play as.
I feel like this game would have been a lot better off ifthese 3 were in the base game

Costumes, yay!
- Cap's is just a weird choice, when we have the classic look and Captain Hydra for good timely alts.
- Joe Fixit Hulk is probably one of my favorites out of the Marvel side alts. It actually reminds me a lot of Grundy's mafia boss costume from Injustice 1.
- Classic Carol is classic. Not much to say here, although that they called it the "Warbird" costume could be both a nod to Kamala Khan, or is just to confuse people by calling it "Captain Marvel's Ms. Marvel costume".
- I won't claim to know what Iron Man's costume is, but either way it feels kind of boring. It looks more like an Ultron body than an Iron Man suit. I personally hope he gets a Tin Can suit at some point.
- Strange's is fantastic, and I want to say it's the same outfit that inspired his black and red color from UMVC.
- Thor's Ultimate color was one of the ones I missed most in the transition from 3 to I, so i'm glad it came back as its own costume.
- RIP classic Hawkeye, like Cap, but Ultimate is still pretty cool.
- Lava Dorm is fucking metal as FUCK, dude!
- COWBOY GHOST RIDER IS THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!
- Was it really so hard to add the beard and make it Hot Ryu instead of just the SF4 alt? The beard alone would have made this one go from a 6 to a 10.
- I didn't know that RE1 even had costumes, so Chris' Made in Heaven jacket had my head scratching, though it's a pretty great choice. I like the idea that it's literally a "classic costume", as in an alt that's been in more than one game already. I don't really want his old STARS outfit again, but I wanna see that silly Mad Max outfit from 5 come back, or maybe RE6 or 7 Chris.
- Super Ultimate Firebrand is pretty neat, but I was never too interested in him anyway.
- Spencer's isn't Rearmed, next! Just kidding, but while I like the different arm, the outfit itself just looks weird with reboot Spencer's design.
- Chun-Li's SF2 ending alt is pretty neat, and i'm glad it's not just the Alpha tracksuit again. Hopefully this game doesn't overflood her wardrobe like SFV is doing.
- I'm gonna echo the thoughts about Nemesis and wish it was actually Mr X instead of just the coat.
- Morrigan's clubbin alt is pretty cool, and the ponytail is a nice update from the original sprites. Hopefully we can still get Lilith as an alt in the future.
- Arthur's alt isn't super spectacular, but the wings are a nice touch. I have heard there's no real change to golden armor or boxer forms though, which is a bit disappointing.
- As someone who liked his design and thought DmC was pretty fun, I actually like that Capcom went ahead with Reboot Dante. He was probably chosen over a different Mainstream Dante costume because it would be easier to see the difference than another blood red coat in the case of a mirror match. I just wish he had his own Rebellion and Ebony/Ivory instead of having to stick with the Mainstream versions. It's especially weird to see after Monster Hunter's alt had every single weapon change, yet Reboot Dante can't have his sword and pistols change.

The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!FYI, Iron Man's premium costume is the "Superior Iron Man" suit. This was an armor he had when he got Face-Heel turned in the Marvel event AXIS, where some of the Avengers and X-Men and their villains found themselves going bad (in the heroes' case) and going good (in the villains' case) or rather "inverted" as they put it, no thanks to Red Skull futzing around with Charles Xavier's brain (eww).
In Iron Man's case, he reverted back to the selfish, womanizing, militaristic alcoholic douche he was before he became Iron Man. I think he'd keep this armor until Secret Wars (2015) went and rebooted everything to make the All-New, All-Different Marvel initiative, causing Iron Man to stick with red and gold colored armor and not be a militaristic fathead.
And now you know!
Trick is, the game part of the game is great. The new characters and the DLC all feel super polished and look great. The dev team is trying. They just weren't given much to work with.
