Watching as his partner flew hurtling towards the machine, Glen suddenly felt very useless.
He wasn't terribly agile and he wasn't carrying anything resembling a ranged weapon, so there wasn't much for him to do that wouldn't risk harming his allies. But, fortunately (or unfortunately), the Highlander came armed with something deadlier than any firearm, and that was a combination of stubbornness and ingenuity.
Taking a few steps back, Glen began dashing towards the still-flying robot, letting his semblance flare to life as he leapt off of the ground, praying to any god that felt like listening that he'd be able to clear the distance with the boost it'd provide.
Stretching his legs and spreading both arms as the air-head focused, Falken didn't waste much time as he sharply kicked up a clod of dirt, created a small cushion of air around it and before sending it flying toward agitated gorilla-Grimm, waiting until the last moment before using the air suddenly crushed and scattered a small cloud of gritty dirt either right in front of that Beringel...or smack dab into it's face.
Either way, he didn't waste much time in using his semblance to hover above the ground a little and swiftly glide to face off against this challenger.
Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.Mountain Zone
Umber crashed into the machine's front face-first like a slapstick comedy character. She was certain that spinning move should have worked. It looked cool! How could it fail? Umber peeled her red face off the shiny chrome. Regaining some sense of determination, she let out a high-pitched, insecure war cry that was more like a childish wail.
"Glen, help!" she said. "I'm scared!"
Umber thrust her swords into the metal, aiming for something critical to stab right in front of her for as long as she clung to its front.

POST FIGHT
Jack pat Lucas on the back. "Have a good nap." He sighed and walked back to the where everyone was gathered for the hunt. Why was Lucas hiding something? ________________________
ON A FALLING ROBOT HIGH ABOVE THE MOUNTAIN
"Fuck." Jack said, looking over the rapidly approaching mountainscape. He put on his goggles to protect his eyes from the wind before looking at the other robot which had Falken stabbing at it and Glenn flying at it.
"Tyr protect me." He said, walking over to one side ot the robot before sprinting back and leaping off, his blast knuckles readied as he prepared to drive his fist into the other robot using the force of his fall.
This was going to hurt.
Good to be backCampfire
What happened next happened a bit to fast for the poor gynoid to process as she just kinda sat there staring blankly at the others. One could see her trying to figure out how things escalated like this in her blue eyes.
Vale-Vacuo Border, The Forest, Port's Hunt
He'd barely gotten to the center when more Murdermonkeys appeared, howling from the branches. Geki looked up as the first of the simian Grimm fell into smiting range.
His plan in shambles. He didn't even have time to get his mask on.
"Delta Pattern!" He shouted, falling back to his team mates and swatting his kanabo before him in short defensive swings. The formation Geki called for was a simple triangular set-up, where each point watched the back of their fellows while presenting as much of a strong front as possible.
Against swarming Grimm such as the Murdermonkeys, it was standard procedure and very effective. The sheer strength of Geki's weapon battered the chittering Grimm left and right.

Sylvia dashed to the nearest tree and took aim of the Grim firing her arrows and curving them around Geki with her semblance.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."Well, Imuka, guess y'all got one more present fer Midwinter." Ayers said with a snort. "Y'know... however he's related t'yew."
Ruth, turned towards Imuka, Ayers' comment reminding her that she was still here. She wasn't a big fan of how Ayers kept treating this whole situation like a big joke, but she knew that getting into an argument with him wouldn't help anyone, so she simply ignored him. "Hey, Imuka, you okay?" Ruth said in a gentle tone, putting a hand on Imuka's shoulder in an attempt to snap her out of her shocked state.

As Glen jumped towards the machine and Jack descended from on high, something incredibly unlikely happened.
The robot used its engines to back away slightly, throwing off Jack's aim...and resulting in him and Glen colliding in midair rather painfully.
Life's a bitch.
Meanwhile, the machine, with Umber clinging to it, attempted to smash itself against the rocky face of the cliff as to flatten its unwelcome hitchhiker.

Erin paused as she heard someone call her name. With a quizzical tilt of her head, the still blank-faced princess wheeled herself over to the group.
"Oh, good afternoon Hunter Trainees. I hope that I am not intruding, but I wish to increase my experience socializing." She said politely, nodding her head at them.
"What is the current topic of discussion?"

Umber saw herself heading towards a pancake death.
"Gleeeeeeeeen!!"
Umber took a deep breath and let go, leaving Capricorn's vines to unravel in her place. Umber fell, letting the vines swing her under the machine's legs and get tangled up while momentum sent Umber up the machine's spine.
"Clip your wings and rust, tin can!" Capricorn said.
At the peak of her jump, she and Capricorn thrust their four swords at the machine's wing joints.

The gynoid just kinda shaked her head no in responce, "I-I am not really able to process all of this.... sorry", she replied before looking at her feet.

Hearing his name called out, the Highlander barked back "Busy!" before colliding with Jack.
Clawing vainly at the air as he tried to grab onto something, Glen snarled "Damnation" before beginning his descent back to the ground, quietly regretting everything he'd done over the past 24 hours or so.

Forest -> Campground
With a huff, Oralie didn't say a word as the professor took her leave. Once she was gone though, Oralie gave the tree she was leaning against an enraged smack with her fist.
"Can't I get a moment's peace anymore? For the love of Dust!"
She picks up her things and heads off back to camp.
Campground
Oralie storms off to a quiet corner and plugs her headphones back into both ears, changing the song on her Scroll and writing down. She looks really pissed, to say the least.

"Awh, c'mon, what now?"
Mora lowers their center of gravity and widens their stance to counteract the instability of the shaking ground.
While holding El Compeador, they slip a hand into one of their pockets, removing three 2.5 inch diameter steel discs.

After a few seconds to regather himself, Jack blinked, he looked over his shoulder as he and the Clansman plummetted towards the ground. A somehwat insane smile spread across his face as he gave Glenn a soft shove so they were arm's length apart. He seized Glenn's non weapon hand and spun in mid-air before releasing the other Hunter, using his momentum to send the man flying back towards the Mecha.
Jack himself turned back and attempted to utilize his blast knuckles to slow his descent.
Good to be back"...I think the topic's about wrapped up, sorry," Lucas answered Erin. "So, um, how have you been?"
Damn it, it hasn't even been five minutes, Lucas, and you're covering up what's wrong again.
Fightan robots
Unsheathing Mors in midair as he found himself hurtling back towards the machine, Glen barked "My thanks" to Jack before beginning his assault on the flying mechanical menace.
Knowing full well that decapitating the robot wasn't sure to kill it, Glen decided that he'd try to ground the damn thing. With two fluid swings, Glen would let Mors sing through the air, attempting to cleave through one of the bird's wings before sundering the armor that made up its chest.
Robot Fighting on the Mountain
Pius came up before the robot to help out Umber, feeling that Jack and Glen could likely destroy the other mechanical foe with their combined brute force. With the power of Fire Dust empowering its fist, Dies Irae struck at the machine's center of mass with a rocket punch.

After Jack's fall was broken, Grigori decided to switch to electric rounds and went after the machine that was not being assaulted by Glen. He switched Squall to its halberd form and went after its "neck." As soon as the attack had landed, he pulled the trigger, surging the blade with electricity in order to fry its circuitry.

"Hey, Erin, Lucas's Imuka's brother'n he don't want nobody to know." Ayers shot Lucas a grin. "Y'all're gonna have to try harder'n that, pardner."
"Ayers, please don't jump to that conclusion," Lucas responded. "Neither of us even know who built Imuka, and considering she doesn't want to answer it and I don't want to pressure her into talking, we need to drop the conversation. Now."

"Fucking hell, if'n y'all wanna go, I don't need no special arms fer that." Ayers clanged his water arms together at the wrists. "But y'all're running from yer problems. Agin. And I'mma keep bringin' it up 'till y'all git it out in the open." He scowled. "Cuz I don't let nobody try to corral me or control me."
Ruth, seeing that Ayers was once again trying to escalate the situation, stepped in between the two hunters in training. She, once again, gave Ayers an angry glare, hoping he'd finally get the message to calm the fuck down, and then turned back to Lucas. Even if she thought that Ayers was being more than a bit much right now, she had to admit that it did seem like Lucas was trying to run away from this. "Lucas, I don't know exactly what's happening, but I can't help but feel that this bothering you. If you really think keeping this to yourself is the best coarse of action, then fine, I'll back off. But if you think that there's any chance that talking about this to your friends might help you, even a little bit I think it's worth considering."
Fight Wrap-up
"Jack, I swear to Gaia, that was not the first time I—" Lucas started, before letting out a groan. "Ugh, nevermind, I'm going to get some rest."
The Campsite
...So Ayers is talking about secret siblings, Lucas thought to himself. And Ruth's heart is in the right place, but doesn't know what to do. And that's not getting into Imuka, who... I don't even know what she's thinking, but she's been awfully silent, so I don't expect anything from her.
He let out a sigh. See? You should have just kept your mouth shut, would have gotten the same lacking amount of information and a lot less pity. At this point, it's time to change the conversation.
Fortunately, he heard a set of wheels rolling towards the campsite. It didn't take long for him to figure out who it was, though, even without his Semblance — he knew only two wheelchair-bound girls who went on the trip, and he knew Hope was at the hunt. "Hello, Erin" he said to the clone. "Would you like to join us?"
