The Zolst, for as long as we could remember they have always been here- Lurking in the shadows, roaming the lands, and mercilessly slaughtering our people. We were nearly driven to extinction because of them... But then, the unusual happened- Someone survived against a Zolst, their wounds healing over not as human... But as Zolst. Finally, we stopped being prey, stopped being afraid- Now, we could be the hunters instead.

However, hunting Zolst isn't so simple... Those who are merely wounded by one could never slay a Greater Zolst alone, yet without that power even soldiers outfitted in Zolst-derived gear would quickly die. Thus, a solution- Imbuing unborn children with the power of Zolst, in hopes of creating a superior protector of humanity.

The experiment a success, more Zolst Hybrids are being produced, in hopes of one day taking the world from the monsters at our door. Yet all new warriors must first prove themselves, and the scarcity of pre-present Zolst material means many a Hybrid will have to collect their own resources if they are to survive... However, the city of Heil, the fortress of humanity- We cannot afford defenders who cannot protect us, thus such a situation is perfect in the end.


N.O.T, Neutralizing Omnipresent Terrors, is a Creature-Hunter Organization roleplay where your character is a Zolst Hybrid- Imbued with the power of these monsters as a baby, they are capable of invoking it through Magical Girl / Henshin Hero like transformations. Thus, visually looking like a Half-Human Hybrid in their activated states.

The Player Characters will all possess four powers derived from the Zolst- Attack, Defense, Mobility, and Weapon. Though whilst the Attack/Defense/Mobility powers are rather obvious, the Weapon a Zolst Hybrid is capable of manifesting is oftentimes unique & blessed with an ability of unpredictable nature- Thus, you can assign any desired ability to your Weapon without restriction.

From there, the starting location and home-base for the Characters will be the City of Heil- German for Salvation, it is effectively an ever expanding fortress which keeps the Zolst out. However, it is not impenetrable, so your characters will spend more time taking missions than relaxing. Still, with the time before and after missions, you'll have plenty of chances to explore & interact.

Thus, onto the World Information sections.


    General Information 

Heil: Originally a settlement that was repurposed into a bastion for humanity, Heil gradually evolved into its current form as contact with other settlements were lost. The most notable indictor of this change is how the care & refined design of the Central district was dropped for the Middle district, in favor of more rapid & strictly functional construction. However, with the creation of Zolst Hybrids allowing more peace of mind, the structures of the Outer Ring are more of a design hybrid of the first two districts.

Greenland Meadows: The area surrounding Heil and bordering the three Zolst-infested zones, the Greenland Meadows is relatively safer- Yet nonetheless, the Innocence Blasters are a nuisance by their sheer numbers, falling upon travelers in groups & regularly having to be purged from the emptied settlements Heil is soon to envelop. Though, as the land is entirely flat outside of the trees and old settlements, navigating the area is extremely easy. The wild trees are also regularly harvested, yet some are left purely as cover from the Zolst.

Noricun: The military/science organization based in the Central district responsible for Heil's Anti-Zolst defenses, it was by their hands Zolst Hybrids were created. Thus, it is Noricun that oversees all things Zolst-related in the city of Heil, with the Sacrificial Guardians living in the Central district & the Hybrids themselves raised from birth by Noricun. It is also through Noricun that all Zolst-derived products are created and sold. However, as their job is exclusively focused around the Zolst, they're rarely called to police the citizens of Heil.

Sacrificial Guardians: The predecessors of the Zolst Hybrids, the Sacrificial Guardians are individuals who willingly accepted Zolst mutation in hopes of acquiring some of their power. Thus, many of them ended up suffering horrible conditions and some even died in the process- Still, in a time without Zolst Hybrids, these Sacrificial Guardians were the only thing keeping humanity alive. Many of the survivors still do their part to help, clearing out the weaker Zolst so the Hybrids could handle the bigger threats. However, as they were already mutated, that prevented any of the Guardians from offering their progeny to be Zolst Hybrids. 

The Chaos Unknown: To the north and east of Heil, is a land of unknown structures- The remnants of metal statues, impenetrable crystal towers, the skeletons of ancient beasts... Nobody remembers what they must of been, yet this land possesses the highest amount of Zolst activity, leading to claims the abominations destroyed an ancient civilization. Nonetheless, because of the incredibly dangerous Zolst here, The Chaos Unknown is regularly ventured to for purging their numbers- And since they're already there, investigations into the strange structures frequently become a secondary mission.

The Frozen Desolation: The land west of Heil, the Frozen Desolation was once an area filled with human settlements- Only to be wiped out by the Heaven Freezers. Now it is a jungle of ice intermixed with ruins of human design, an unnerving place full of death. Still, the area is regularly harvested of its ice for human use, as well as combed through for human relics. Finally, it is the Heaven Freezers which are regularly hunted here, taking back their cold-resistant hides so Sacrificial Guardians & Zolst Hybrids can linger longer and further there.

The Nightlands: South of the Greenland Meadows, is the nest of the Dusk Walkers- Zolst that create darkness, who have cast that land into perpetual night. Though at first glance there would seem to be nothing of value, there have been numerous sightings of a mysterious castle within that zone. Coming to believe it may be a major breeding ground for the Nightland Zolst, Noricun has made it their mission to locate this castle & purge the Zolst from within.

Zolst: Monstrous abominations who have been around as long as humanity, their existence is perverse & impossible- Varying from cruel mockeries of natural lifeforms, to things unfathomably real, or worst of all entities who shouldn't even be alive. Nonetheless, all Zolst are drawn to attack any and all non-Zolst lifeforms, rapidly approaching whenever they spot their prey. Greater Zolst, being older and more powerful specimen, will watch in silence instead- Waiting to strike from the shadows, their predator instincts honed by experience.

Zolst Hybrids: Created by infusing an unborn child with Zolst essence, the child develops powers much stronger than normal Zolst Mutates- Thus, allowing for new leaps & bounds in the name of Zolst extermination. However, as the program only started twenty five years ago, they're comparatively lower in number than the surviving Sacrificial Guardians. Thus, Zolst Hybrids usually are grouped no more than three, to make the most out of them. Finally, given their creation as humanity's defenders, few Zolst Hybrids know who their parents are- And still fewer as parents themselves.

Zolst Mutation: When a creature is wounded by a Zolst yet somehow escapes, their wounds are mutated- Causing them to inherit properties of the Zolst into themselves. The mutations are often unpredictable however, for example one whose eye is injured by a Heaven Freezer may develop golden pigmentation- Or experience their eye distort and grow into an appendage not unlike the Heaven Freezers' wings. Thus, completely recommended for one to avoid deliberate injury as there's no telling what'll happen.

    Known Zolst 

Dusk Walkers: Usually found solely within The Nightlands, the Dusk Walkers are tall yet thin creatures, who move with slow grace. Their truest appearance however is cloaked behind the darkness they generate. Still, despite seeming like four legged creatures, their two massive front legs are actually arms- Giving them tremendous reach. Combined with their ability to move through solid matter and fire beams of light, it spells almost certain doom if one is allowed to sneak up on you. Still, with their wolfish muzzles and the wings mounted on their heads, an eagle-eyed individual would spot them even without light.

Heaven Freezers: Only staying within the Frozen Desolation, Heaven Freezers are creatures as large as horses and at a first glance similar to fish. However, the moment one is close enough, they'll realize the creature's entire torso resembles a severed arm- Complete with its "head" actually being a clawed hand. Possessed of four massive wings in place of other appendages and a long skeletal jutting out over their heads, these blue & golden scaled creatures are unmistakable. Of their abilities, a Heaven Freezer is possessed of stunning speed, the power to create & command ice, as well as teleporting & generating a defensive energy pulse.

Innocence Blasters: Regularly roaming around the Greenland Meadows, the Innocence Blasters would seem to resemble dog-sized rabbits of pink coloration. However, despite their surprisingly cute and innocent appearances, they're capable of grotesquely extending their bodies- Their outer shells somehow supported by an impossibly small structure from which their devastating sonic screams are unleashed. Combined with their ability to stretch their body parts out of harm's way and powerful leaping ability, they quickly become a hazard in large numbers.

  • Name:
  • Hybrid Type: (Basically the Zolst they get their abilities from, feel free to invent your own Zolst)
  • Appearance: (Their normal form)
    • Hybrid Form: (It should clearly reflect the Zolst they're derived from in some way)
  • Abilities: (Attack, Defense, Mobility and Weapon- The first three powers can be corrupted forms of the Zolst's natural abilities, whilst the Weapon is whatever you wish)
  • Possessions: (As you'll start your first mission in-game, you wouldn't have mission supplies right off the bat)
  • Upraising: (Basically a Personality section that also explains how they've been raised as Noricun agents)
  • Post Activity: (Be completely honest, as Player Characters will be grouped up with those they'll be able to timely interact with)
  • Other: (Pretty much any other random thing you want to mention)

So regarding the Noricun Personnel- I wanted to see what you guys intend to do with your characters first, as there's many possibilities I could do for the Personnel. For everything else, figured there's no point detailing massive segments if nobody actually wants to know any of that stuff- So if you want some more General Information or Known Zolst, ask away.

Here's my submission: Name: Guy Ryan Hybrid Type: Dusk Walker Appearance: Around 6 feet tall, short black hair, roundish head, likes to wear a vest and blue jeans Hybrid Form: Becomes even taller, keeps human posture except when under a low ceiling, gains the dusk walker's signature head wings Abilities: (Attack) Like regular dusk walkers, he can shoot laser beams to attack. His arms are a bit shorter, though. (Defense) Guy generates darkness like regular dusk walkers, but takes a bit of time to start generating. The generation process leaves him vulnerable for about ten seconds. (Mobility) Guy may not be able to walk through solid objects, and those wings are too small to fly with, but he can camouflage really well. (Weapon) Guy uses a double-edged blade which he dubs the Lævateinn, named after a mythological weapon. The Lævateinn seems to have some control of its own, as it sometimes swerves around as if trying to dodge attacks. Upraising: Guy was raised in solitude, making him a bit of a stoic. He doesn't feel particularly close to any humans. Post Activity: He enjoys reading and doesn't fit well with people. Other: Nothing!

I was originally going to go for Zeta, but I like pairing her with Cecil and I wasn't really sure you'd allow a duo. I could've asked, but it was all right as I decided to use an old character of mine, reworked for this. Hopefully this is okay.


  • Name: Solaris Hernandez
  • Hybrid Type: Blaze Tyrant - a type of Zolst that has a carnivorous theropod appearance, but greatly disproportioned with its elongated torso and tail, huge underbite and tiny bird like wings that somehow lets them fly. Its covered in flames with its "eyes" being black pits and it can control its fire to attack. It seems to have a pack like mentality as they're usually found in groups where the Blaze Tyrant with the largest wingspan is the "king".
  • Appearance: Solaris is ridiculously tall for a normal person, already standing at six foot nine and she's still got a year to go before she'll stop growing. She's considerably muscled from all the training and exercising she does and her skin is a light brown. Her eyes are a serene blue and her straight blonde hair reaches between her shoulder blades. She has a few scars here and there from accidents, mostly from her recklessness when saving people. Her usual attire consists of a red shirt with a collar, blue pants, a white belt, and red running shoes. Under all of that, mainly her clothing, is a black form fitting suit with red Tron lines, designed by her adoptive father to fit her whenever she changes, just in case she ruins her clothes and attire. She almost always wears the pink necklace (that's fire proof and resistant) given to her by her adoptive mother.
    • Hybrid Form: Solaris remains the same height and looks relatively human but still looks very different from her human form. Her hair turns into fire though for some reason it doesn't actually emit heat. She has two fangs sticking out from her lowerjaw, her eyes become completely black and her hands turn into three clawed ones. She also gains a tail that's five feet long and wings that have a wingspan of two feet, both made of fire and, like her hair, don't emit heat. Her suit, as designed, is still on her, unaffected by the changes by conforming to her new shape.
  • Abilities:
    • Attack: Fiery Tempest - Can create bursts of fire from her body up to fifty feet or as a mlre widespread wave with a diameter of ten feet.
    • Defense: Bettleguese - Completely covers herself in bright white flames, one of the hottest flames known.
    • Mobility: Rocket Wings. And Boots! - Flies around by, well, making her wings and feet act like rocket propulsion, constantly firing out flames (something like Iron Man, I guess).
    • Weapon: Fragarach - A simple looking staff that can loosen itself to act as a whip. Its surface is very hot, thus burning upon contact with other things and beings, and doesn't affect Solaris.
  • Possessions: None
  • Upraising:
    • An upbeat and passionate girl, Solaris has always been a smiling bundle of energy since she was little. Pretty early on, it was also found she absolutely had a love for battle and was thus taught combat when she was only a few years old. She didn't really do that much fighting, but she knew how. She was taught such by a young woman named Mary Hernandez. It was through this that she met Mary's husband, who also happened to be a researcher for Heil, and her son, Homer. Over training, she got quite close to them and vice versa, especially Mary.
    • It was then, when Solaris was eight, that the Hernandez family decided to adopt her. Let's just say that she literally jumped a hundred feet in joy. Since then, she spent as much time in their house and the Noricun facility where she used to live. Over the next few years, she's shown to be quite caring and gentle, as shown in her care for her "older" brother with his medicines and so on. She's also shown to be very determined, to stubborn levels at times, and always willing to risk her life to save another, as shown whenever there were accidents like a building collapsing from an earthquake and she just jumped straight into it to save someone from it. And her enthusiasm and passion has led her to occassionally come off as hammy, partly from watching too much TV, both cartoons and anime.
  • Post Activity: I'm sure I can do at least once a week, with two weeks being the longest wait time. Though I do have semester break coming up, so it might be sooner. Will update you on my schedule in the discussion thread if there's any changes to that.
  • Other:
    • Her suit is actually pretty strong too, not being easy to tear apart. It just makes holes in itself for her wings and tail.
    • She can also speak in this world's equivalent of Cebuano.
    • She's currently seventeen years old and her "birthday" (actually a date she and her family decided to make her birthday) is December 1, the day she met her mother.
    • The martial arts she learned is called Arnis (Eskrima in Cebuano).

@Trumpet: So the first problem is that you didn't structure your application. The Transformation could of been more impressive, and Camouflage would count as Defense (whilst Phasing could be Defense or Mobility since it involves moving through stuff). Even then, Dusk Walkers don't Camouflage- The abilities have to relate to the Zolst somehow, so Shadow Stepping would be an applicable option. Finally, Post Activity is about your genuine post activity and not about the character (So put that under Other instead).

@Shoutmon Z: Yeah Solaris' application is perfectly approved. Though since you brought up other languages and Television, should I explain more about the setting?

I understand. The best way I could explain is that I misinterpreted post-activity and didn't want to make Guy too powerful while still being more powerful than a regular human. I appreciate the criticism though.

@Kkut: No, you don't have to. But it would be nice to know about it since Solaris might make the occasional reference to shows and unintentionally speak in Cebuano.
