Yeah, that's not very good at all. Since we can't do animated pics, I think we're going to have to go with a collage or a comic strip showing the occupants disembarking.

3 is awful, yet so, so funny. I no longer feel bad about getting rid of the Carn Evil picture.

That's good too! And a bit more clear than the other comic strip.
If someone can make a decent edit of 3, it gets my vote. Otherwise, I think 6 is the clearest.

But I don't think it's bad enough that it needs to be removed.

I think just the driving and crash is enough to set up for the joke.
I think it's fine as it is. The clown is not as clear in the second panel, so we need the first panel; and the second panel doesn't distract from the image, so there's no need to remove (it also sets up the joke).

As for the panels, I don't think the first is needed, but the formatting makes it fit. I'm more concerned about it being the entire strip.

As much as I love CarnEvil, that picture's gotta go. It Makes Sense in Context, as there are actually a bunch of those little clowns that come out of the clown ambulance, but this picture only shows three, which could fit in there easily.
I tried to get a screenshot with more of the clowns, but in every video I found, by the time more clowns come out, the player starts shooting, sending blood flying and not only making the picture NSFW, but also making it hard to tell what's going on - not to mention that the clowns themselves, who carry knives, start attacking, covering the screen in slash marks.
