Does Not Illustrate: Runaway Train

This article appears to be about literal trains careening out of control and the standard ways characters try to stop them, but the image show three characters in the desert, a sign showing the track ends, and no vehicles of any kind in frame.

I'm thinking we can do better.

Just a note: Please do not use UR Ls to link to the article in question, as it does not work that way. Just use the article title.

Anyways, opened. Will fix the title.

The current works fine for me pending other suggestions.

I agree that the current is better than a blank page, but I also agree with the original poster that we should be able to do better.

The first Google Image Search result I get for "runaway train" is pretty good. There's also this. I don't know what either is from.

There is a train in the current image. The characters are standing on the roof (or maybe an empty flatbed wagon). Could be better if it was more visible, though.

[up] Those show more "train crash" than "runaway train."

I think the first is from that 2013 The Lone Ranger film. The second is from Real Life, the Montparnasse derailment.

I think this is going to be very hard to get across without showing the train actually derailing or crashing.

The train in the current is barely noticeable. 4.1, on the other hand, shows the consequences of a runaway train, so I'm in favor of that one.

Yeah, 10 is nice since it illustrates the "train on loose and heroes try to stop it" aspect of the trope. On the other hand, either 4.1 or 11.2 is nice if we're going with the "derailed train" scenario.

Good enough; 10's up and tagged. Keep the old caption, something new, or go without?

Runaway trains typically run out of track before they run out of momentum.
