Pokemon Go

I'm an iOS user and have caught two grimers. The error for me is when I tap a mon right before it despawns and it begins to load the encounter but then it just takes away the HUD and I can't interact with 'stops, mons or gyms

I guess it is really a gym problem, they made a workaround by ejecting all the Pokemon from the affected gyms, i guess?

At least it is back to normal for now, i can see combat again :)

Android user here, I have a Grimer. It never crashed anything for me.

If the Grimer thing is only a problem for Android people, can a heroic iOS user kick it out of the gym and stop that?

Or do they not see the same gyms?

They see the same gyms, but Niantic said on Twitter that they fixed the issue.

Where is that tweet? Is the fix a separate update or a fix on their end?

Here. I'd advise avoiding replies, they're all whining. Seems like it was a fix on their end, though they probably only did this one immediately because of the severity of it. Still some other, less gamebreaking glitches and bugs with gyms.

Also a "Following" Pokemon feature found in the API that generates candies for that specific line.

I just wanna say Thank You Niantic for hotfixing it. While there's still the gym battles canceling error (and not because of GPS making me go places either) I am still thrilled that I was able to go to a gym after work and claim my 10 coins.

Besides my quick take of the gym, I also went around running and got one Porygon and a bunch of Bulbasaurs. Also I got an XS Snorlax that still weighs about 400kg.

...which is the good part.

The bad part is my first 10km egg hatched into a Pinsir, and I'm already swimming in Pinsirs. Come on, can't I get my first Lapras, please? And give it Ice Shard + Ice Beam too...

Ah that buddy system looks interesting. I'd love to walk around with that Dragonair I have, and I'll have my first Dragonite eventually.

It makes a lot of sense why they'd need to introduce something like that for certain mons like legedaries/Lapras/Snorlax since they aren't that common or in the case of legendaries their availability would be very limited.

I was hoping they'd just introduce breeding but the buddy thing works too. Evolving anything but Com Mons and local nests is a pain in the ass with the current system.

I've got enough candies for evolving an Exeggcute and a Clefairy now, I just need to find the perfect ones (and hope the evos turn out with good moves).

edit: Today is the worst day for what might have been: I saw a Clefable, Weezing, Golduck, Weepinbell and Charizard in the radar, and I missed them all except Weepinbell which ran. I got a consolation prize of a Slowbro, though.

Where the flip you live Malco? I barely get any of that! Mostly com mons and junk.

Also, that buddy system sounds awesome...Come on Snorlax, time to lose that damn weight so I can fatten you up with candies again!

This kind of relates to Pokemon Go I thought it was funny.

I'm living in a condo in Makati City, Philippines near work.

I hang out either at a park with 7 Pokestops and 2 gyms (needs a lotta moving around to access them all though) or an office building with 3 Pokestops and 1 gym (you can stand in one place).

The random rare Pokemon are outside those areas though. I tried to triangulate their location to be about north of the said office building but I failed.

The Charizard was said to be somewhere in the long sidewalk between the park and the building and I saw some people running (think the Central Park Vaporeon, only less) before it disappeared on me.

The Slowbro being a consolation prize was for on the way back home as I gave up after 1hr 30mins of GO-ing and catching commons. :)

I loved the punchline. It took a while, but the payoff was neat.

Maybe the gym issue wasn't really about grimers as I once thought... :(

Um... I think the issue wasn't fixed.

Even as rare spawns, Malco, that's quite a haul. Golduck is the only one of those that's an uncommon in some spots near where I live, and only if I go by either the river or the ocean. Well, Clefairy used to be an uncommon spawn in one park near me, but that was before the nests were swapped around (it's now a Seel nest; haven't seen any wild Dewgongs, but I've caught enough to evolve one out).

I've been curious about Weezing for a bit, particularly because I only have one due to a rare spawn in a nearby park. Is Koffing a common spawn anywhere? I think I've only run into five of those wild.

I think I need to have a playing buddy. I have several friends who play, but I think I need someone to accompany me for some of my wilder jaunts. I found a spot that's lovely during the day and is currently a Kabuto nest (different from the previous one I discussed)... but at night, it's poorly lit and I swear I almost tripped across a few drug deals. I think I'm a bit lucky in that nothing happened.

It definetly IS about grimers. I can't even look at my Grimer in the collection anymore. It's not assigned to a gym.

The Grimer bug has been around for a while now, longer than the gym bug that was fixed.

So Grimer, if put on a gym, still causes crashes everywhere?

Maybe? It's only a problem for Android users though.

Here's something I noticed while looking something up a couple days ago: Someone's ported Go to the Visual Memory Unit.

And here I expected the TI-82 and its descendant models to be the first system to receive a cutdown port...

...How does that even work?

Not entirely sure, but given the VMU's limitations, I know stuff has been cut.

Anyone notice anything different about spawns in the last couple of days? Based on the shadows and how frequently they've popped up nearby, apparently Lickitung have moved into my neighborhood (haven't found one yet... which is frustrating, because I'm one shy of getting the gold Kanto badge, and Lickitung could be the one). I'm not sure if it's just the RNG being strange near me, or if something with spawns has changed again.
