The Tower

The Analander looked at the contraption. It was a simple design, just a chair on wheels like the name implied, but he was utterly surprised. Such an easy solution! If he could return home, perhaps the doctors of his world could use this technology to help some of the poorer creatures. He picked it up effortlessly and placed it into the compartment of the odd machine - was a dwarf operating it from the inside?

"It will be difficult either way," he explained as he walked back around to the girl. "Doing it the usual way, earning it, will take too long. Yet obtaining large sums all at once would be much more demanding of us. This might prove to be quite the challenge."

KITT opened the driver's side door.

"Please take a seat, sir," he said.

KITT - Tower -> Japan

"Please fasten your seatbelts for added safety," KITT said as the door closed and his engine revved up.

Slowly rolling forwards, he drove through the portal to... Japan. But not the normal Japan.

"Strange," KITT said to his passengers as it coasted into the city. "The vehicles I can detect are several decades outdated. This is inconsistent with my database."

Listening expressionlessly to the so-called 'music' save for the fact that her right eye was almost imperceptibly twitching out a very colorful message in Morse code, the fallen angel allowed the earbud to remain in her hearing organ for as long as she deemed polite before politely but firmly taking the thing out to return to Yang. "That was... interesting. I had no idea you were into such... genre." It was so hard trying to not be rude but the girl before her was someone she liked enough to hold back her barbs.

Baron, :( , With Akiyama

"Aw hell naw..." And now it was his fault that they were manning Akiyama's club, apparently. Ugh, he was supposed to be having fun in this place.

Well, water under the bridge. There was ten million left to earn. "Alright, playas! Whoever wants to help, ya bruddas are welcome to come along. If ya dun, dat's fine too; go wild in da city." If Akiyama was being kind enough to give him his ladies, at least, that should be easy enough. At least Baron himself could act as a bouncer if need to, and The Kid could probably be convinced to do the same.

2B - Scenic Kamurocho

2B had felt restless, sitting at the table in the stands and watching Qrow fight his first few opponents. She'd gathered some useful data on her teammate's fighting style, and on how to fight humans non-lethally, but she was not content to spectate any longer. Picking up her case of winnings, she outlined her plan to leave and explore to the others at the table and headed off, her pod gliding smoothly behind her.

Sewer tunnels were navigated, ladders were climbed, and homeless door-men were ignored, and soon she emerged out onto the loud, bright, busy street. Pausing to look around, the android paused and consulted the memory of the map. It was probably safer, and more convenient, to return to the gate and deposit her winnings, but she found herself pausing to watch the humans moving to and fro. 9S would probably give anything to be here...

Shaking her head slightly, she turned and started to walk down the street towards the gate.

Shrine

The old man seemed to perk up as he was told his fortune.

"Oh, yes, yes, you're right! Tell me, have you ever heard of...."

He paused for dramatic effect.

"POCKET CIRCUIT FIGHTER!" He suddenly yelled at the top of his lungs. "It was very big back in the 80's, and made a comeback some years ago." He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small toy car. "You take cars like these, place them on a track, and then race up to three other racers It may seem very simple, but it is a deep and complex game, with many layers. You can customize the car with many parts, you see, and the proper balance is needed for each course to maximize your speed without sending your car flying off the track. Have you ever tried it?"

Meanwhile, the detective took out a picture of Dio, Medusa, Desco, and Veronica entering a store.

"First question, have you seen these individuals before?"

The man was looking closely at Kashira to gauge her reaction to the photo.

Arena-Guts

Guts was promptly given his cash for the bet.

Arena-Qrow

Seeing the cheep shot coming, Tiaga quickly rolled forward, dodging out of the way of the strike while closing the distance with Qrow. Coming out of the roll, he aimed a brutal kick at Qrow's midsection, aiming to send him backward, toward one of the corners of the arena. If this succeeded, he would proceed to press the attack with his bat, doing his best to beat the crap out of his opponent, aiming to keep him on the defensive.

Movie Shoot

"Mutiny?" One of the teenagers asked. "We don't work for you, nutjob!"

"It's no use, we can't reason with him!"

"Run!"

One of the teenagers picked up a plank of wood and chucked it at Claw as he fled. Off camera, the director motioned for Asgore to jump out in front of the teenagers as they fled.

Theater Square

Akiyama waved off Baron's conserns.

"Don't worry about it, even if you screw it up, I got money saved, you're not going to bankrupt me if you don't make anything. And sure, you all can do whatever you want, don't let me stop you. But let me show you the club first. Follow me.

Elise

Those who elected to follow Akiyama would find themselves inside the club. The interior was typical of a club like this one, fancy with a purple color motif. Various large sofas and tables sat around the place, as well as a dancing floor and a stage for acts.

"Well, this is the place. We open in a half hour, so do what you have to do to get ready. I'm going to hang around and observe. Just pretend I'm not here, think of me as a ghost, ok?"

Batting Center

Majima spent a moment staring at Veronica, then shrugged.

"Alright then, come on, let's take this somewhere more open."

Opening one of the batting cage doors, he motioned for Veronica to follow him. They would find themselves in a large, open room with plenty of space to maneuver. Cracking his neck, Majima slowly drew his knife, smirking.

"Ladies first." Majima said, inviting her to deal the first attack.

City entrance

Suffice it to say, a large (For Japan) police car suddenly driving onto the road drew a great deal of attention to a populous that was used to nearly never seeing so much as the blue of a police uniform. Nearly every citizen stopped to gawk at the car, which would naturally slow it down considerably. Then, they started randomly running away. The reason became clear swiftly, as a group of 3 annoyed looking thugs approached the car.

"What the fuck?"

"What the hell is this shit?"

"Cops ain't supposed to be here!"

"Wait, wait, look at this hooded motherfucker inside, that ain't no cop!"

Emboldened by this revelation, they quickened their pace, one rapping on the driver side window with a bat.

"Hey, fuckface, you think this shit is funny? Lower the window so I can give you a piece of my mind!"

Apparently not happy, the thug elected not to wait, and started swinging at the window, attempting to shatter it.

City Entrance - KITT

"Do not be alarmed," KITT said in his soothing, monotonous tone over his internal speakers to Togo and the Analander, the car still seeming dead silent to the thugs outside. "I am designed far stronger than your average automobile and can endure far more than a mere bat."

True to his word, his window held strong against what the thug no doubt considered to be a relentless barrage. As he did so, the windows tinted over to hide the cabin from any further observation from outside parties.

"Privacy mode engaged," he added. "It is unfortunate that we have already encountered such unfavorable elements. This adds a further complication to our assignment to acquire ten million yen. I can drive away to avoid confrontation and return you to the Tower so that I may complete the mission myself."

Theater Square - Yang

"Alright!" Yang said with a fist-pump as she started to follow along. "We're gonna kick this restaurant's butt!"

"Yeah, pretty good, right?" Yang asked Lucy. "They're the best. I've got all of their albums on my scroll, we should listen to them later!"

Mimori Togo (KITT's Passenger Seat, City Entrance) - So Much For Blending In

After a few moments in which Togo shared her name and fastened her seatbelt because she was by all accounts a responsible girl, the odd trio arrived to what Togo recognized immediately as modern day Japan. So her assumptions were correct. Unfortunately... what the old man at the Tower seemed to be accurate as well, seeing that three men immediately approached the vehicle, and one even tried to smash through the window with a bat.

The situation was complicated, but KITT's assurance that it would take far more than a man with a bat to break through the window. Nonetheless, the banging still made her feel anxious, and she looked forward to it stopping. Perhaps she would have to stop it herself? No, no, no way, that would only make things worse for everyone involved, herself included. How about talking? No, they did not seem very reasonable. Running away? No, that would cause more suspicion and also possibly make their goal much harder to obtain later on.

Well sitting there and waiting for them to walk away would accomplish nothing either, so she may as well try something.

"I think I have an idea," she muttered in a low voice. "Please lower the window on my side a little. I will talk to them."

Sumireko's Fortune Telling Time
Flinching just a little when he suddenly shouted, the occultist maintained her pleasantly interested face once the truth came out. Of course she was right, that was to be expected, but she kind of hoped his life would've been devoted to something...cooler, she guessed?

After all, he had just admitted that his reason for existing was collecting children's toys...really kinda pathetic...

"...I think my cousin had one when I visited his house once," she said, equating those slot cars he had to these because the honestly seemed like the same thing. "I haven't seen them in a long time...but I liked them! Pretty fun."

Now, her initial estimate for his future was something along the lines of "you'll be seeing fruition soon" but, considering he was just some loser...actually, you know what? Sumireko was gonna stick to her guns. All fortunes told are final, no refunds.

"Stick to this, no matter what happens," she said, deploying a seriousness even she didn't know could be applied to the situation. "Pocket Circuit Fighter figures just as heavily in your future as it does your past. I can't tell you where your devotion's gonna bring you, sir, but I don't think you'll regret it. Also, avoid traveling for a year or two."

Near Entrance - KITT

"I would advise against such a course of action," KITT said to Togo. "However, if you believe you can garner sympathy with them, I can open the window enough to talk to them conventionally without endangering you."

True to his word, KITT rolled down the window just a sliver. Not enough to stick a finger through, but enough for someone to talk through without having to rely on any sort of intercom.

Kashira Lavellan - Shrine - Another Side, Another Story

Kashira tilted her head, looking down at the picture. Yet another wonder of this world. No Thedosian artist could produce such a small yet detailed portrait. More of their artifice at work. The only one she really recognized on sight was Dio, but the rest at least stirred a glimmer of recognition. The newcomers. Creators, what have they gotten themselves into? The answer was not long in coming. Oh, about what any unrepentant criminals would do in a shiny new world that's probably never heard of half of what they can do, with no one around to supervise. Nice one, Inquisitor. Kashira fought off the urge to scowl. And if I'd stayed to look after them, the good people with me would have even less chance of making it then they do and the others in the group are probably up to something at least as bad if not worse. I can't be everywhere at once. I chose to be where I could do the most good for the most people and not spend all my time trying and failing to persuade these people to be better.

Aloud, she said, "Actually, yes, we met on the way into town and spoke a little. We parted ways after arriving in the city. Has something happened to them?"

Veronica, Batting Center

Stepping into Majima's arena, Veronica's eyes narrowed as he gave her the chance to make the first move. If he was really as cracked in the head as he wanted them to think, he'd most likely have attacked first. Odds were he just wanted to draw her out and get a feel for her abilities. No sense giving everything away at once, let him think he was fighting a normal human for the moment. Veronica drew two knives of her own, and without ceremony she darted forwards swiftly with one in each hand, lashing out at Majima's chest with the left.

Mimori Togo (KITT's Passenger Seat) - Mediator!

"Thank you."

There was a brief moment where Togo faced the window opening, not entirely sure of how best to approach these people. After all, they were armed criminals trying to pointlessly break down the glass. The last thing she wanted was to infuriate them further. So she had to be careful about what she said. To be fair, the prospect of being on the receiving end of that bat was rather frightening, but she already was in a way, so... at the very least she could try to stop that.

"Uhm... s-sir?" she called out, still somewhat intimidated by the repeated banging. "I... uhm... I don't think it will break..."

Yeah, perhaps that had not been the smartest idea.

KITT's Driver's Seat - Kamurocho Entrance

So this oddly-shaped object was a type of wagon. The Analander watched in amused fascination as the various parts in front of him moved and spun on their own accord as the vehicle seemingly wheeled itself through the gate. The bright lights and clustered buildings of the city on the other side blinded him momentarily, though when his vision cleared he realized he could read the otherwise foreign signs.

While he marveled at the new world, their transport was soon accosted by a couple of criminals. Thugs, it seemed, were a constant no matter where you were. The Analander sneered in response to the one who called him out. "So what of my clothes?" He asked through the closed window, though judging by the fact they were beating on the vehicle, they didn't hear him. Criminals...crime...

The Analander leaned close to the small girl as she tried to negotiate with the group. "I have an idea as well," he whispered, "though I think you might not like it so much." Then, through the opened window on her side, he called out to the thugs.

"Excuse me! You all seem to be men with ears to the ground! We are in need of a large sum of money right now. Would you know where to we could earn such a fee?"

Baron, Club Stuff

"Ain't worried 'bout dat, dog." Really, it was more about his pride and the trauma he could unwittingly inflict upon the ladies of Akiyama's place if he messed it up.

They eventually reached the club in question. A fancy place, this. "Aight, lemme get organized with everythin'." He muttered to the actual owner. This was bad. He had no idea about managing that many ladies at the same time. Best idea currently in his mind was to wing it and let it play out.

Claw, Plank-Proof

Don't react to pain; that was what Gaige said. However, the thrown object seemed like just too much of an opportunity to ignore. It was a plank, and everybody knew pirates for their rituals involving planks. Once more Claw had to swallow his pride and engage in something he knew to be patently underused (and for a good reason; you were better off just shanking the mutineer).

"Y'all will be walking this plank today!" He cackled as he caught the incoming plank and swung it against the air, walking towards the fleeing teenagers with the unflinching stride of a madman. Now it was Asgore's turn to show up...

Shrine

The old man nodded in understanding as his fortune was told, but one aspect seemed to confuse him.

"Wait, why should I avoid traveling?"

Meanwhile, the detective looked at Kashira for a few seconds before he flipped to another photo, this one of Dio smashing the owner's head into his bar.

"Not long ago, this group of people entered a drug store not far from here and robbed it. The place itself is hardly worth the bother of robbing, and it's also under the protection of the Tojo Clan, the local Yakuza group in the city. Very few people would be stupid enough to risk pissing them off for such a paltry payday. Within about a minute, they responded. Then...."

He turned the photo again, showing Desco floating off the ground and Dio with a sword in his gut.

"One of them blew a hole in the ceiling and tried to float up, according to the cameras. This guy took a sword to the gut and shrugged it off like it was nothing. These people aren't your average gangbangers looking for a quick buck. Last we saw on cameras, they were being escorted away by the Tojo Clan somewhere."

He put the photos away. "The Tojo Clan ain't talking, and the department isn't going to spare a ton of resources on what amounts to petty theft, not unless an actual dead body turns up.When I show them the footage from the camera, I don't doubt they'll assume the footage was faked by the Tojo Clan. But they had to assign someone to this case, pretend they care, and so here I am."

The man shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe you're wondering why I'm giving you so many details? Let's cut the crap, because this is cutting into my free time and, honestly, I have better things to do then chase pretty boy wannabes across the city for what amounts to 20,000 yen worth of drugs. This ain't the first time this happened, a bunch of weirdos with weirder "supernatural" powers showing up in the city."

"The department wrote off any incidents they saw, explained it away. But I happen to have a couple of friends I trust who met these weirdos. And from what they said, the weirdos in question were all connected, all came from the same place, had the same goal. And now here we are, a bunch of weirdos show up again, the very same day that the first shrine this city's seen in over 15 years shows up. I don't think that's a coincidence,"

He crossed his arms. "So here's the deal. You're going to be honest with me, tell me whatever you can about this guy and his group of underlings, or else I'll have to bring you and your friends over there into the station for questioning as a person of interest, which I honestly don't want to do, it'd be a major pain in the ass, but if that's what I need to do to get you to answer questions, then that's what I'll do. Won't be any problem for you, you'll be on your way by this time tomorrow, as long as you have proper identification or a passport that identifies you as a tourist. If you don't, well....that's a different story." He said in a tone that suggested he already knew the answer to the last question.

Batting Center

Majima elected to remain on the defensive for the begining of the fight, ducking, dodging, and occasionally blocking a strike, yet not counterattacking and allowing her to continue to strike. So long as she continued to maintain her fiction of being a normal person attacking with daggers, Majima would be able to avoid getting hit.

Once he had let her attack for a bit, he suddenly dodged much quicker then before, attempting to circle around behind her, and spinning around with a blow aimed for her back. What happened next would depend on her reaction. If she failed to block the hit or otherwise took it, he would leap backward, laughing madly, If she managed to turn and block, or evade, Majima wold continue to spin, holding out his blade and aiming to turn himself into a spinning whirlwind of death to overwhelm her defenses.

Thugs

The thugs suddenly halted their attack as the window came down enough for them to see.....

"A kid?"

"What?"

"There's a kid in his car! A girl, can't be older then 14!"

A moment of long silence passed as they contemplated the meaning of this, combined with the cop car and this man's wish to earn large amounts of money.

"......YOU SICK MOTHERFUCKER!" One of them suddenly yelled as he renewed his assult on the car, now drawing a dagger as he aimed to puncture the tire of the car.

"What kind of sick fuck do you think you are?" Another yelled as he took his bat to one of the headlights on the front of the car.

"Let that girl out of the car and get the fuck out here so we can kick your ass!" The third yelled as he walked over to grab a large, glowing neon street sign nearly as large as he was.

Akiyama

"Oh, by the way." Akiyama said as he sat down. "You can assign jobs however you want, can double up, even, if you want. I don't usually have my waiter staff as security too, but if you feel like that works for you, then go for it. As for what you're going to need, someone's going to need to be a waiter, take orders, go back and forth between tables. Someone will need to be at the bar, making drinks, light snacks, that sort of thing. Someone might want to be at the door, show customers to their tables, take the money once they're done, manage customer complaints and other issues. The girls will be here in a few minutes, you should all probably figure out where you wanna be, get familiar with your areas, that kind of thing.

Guts, Arena Stands

Collecting his money and becoming a thousand yen richer (though certainly not feeling it), Guts returned to his seat with nary a fanfare.

Now, the drunken swordsman was fighting his final opponent; an opponent who had just avoided one of his attacks; successfully. Seeing the competency of this man, and remembering that Qrow had been drinking before his fights, Guts decided to hold off on making any more bets, and simply continued to spectate the fight with a scowl.

The business her elf friend was getting into with the police was worrying, but that shouldn't be a problem for this man in front of her! He had actually important things to worry about, like cancelling any airplane tickets.

Qrow - On The Defensive; Arena

Huh. He saw it coming. Usually his semblance-

The kick to his midsection brought Qrow's mind back to the fight, and pushed him back only a couple steps. The pole of the scythe went up to block Taiga's swings, each clattering off the metal with a ringing sound.

"Faster than you look, huh?"

He had to get on the offensive at some point, or else Taiga would push him back and corner him. Thankfully, he had a rather large blade on the end of his pole.

Qrow shifted his grip on the scythe, holding it more akin to Taiga's own baseball bat. The next swing the came in, Qrow would swing to parry it about halfway down the pole. That would bring the double-edged blade on the end of the scythe much too close to Taiga for comfort.

He wasn't actually aimed to slash him, but instead scare him into backing away. Qrow had the reach, and a rather scary blade at the end of that reach. A scythe's strange form made it difficult to counter, as blocking the pole still meant you could be hit by the blade.

Kashira Lavellan - The Left Hand of the Divine

As the watchman displayed his miniature renderings, Kashira's face tightened into the infamous glare that half of Thedas had learned to fear. Of course. The first thing they do is rob an apothecary's shop, then throw in with the local gang when they came running to see what the fuss was. They'll probably offer to perform whatever services are asked of them with their great powers in exchange for the money we need to leave. One of the simpler ways, isn't it? But not the right way and not any way I'll stand to have if I have any say in the matter. The watchman's threat and offered mercy was tempered by his admission that his superiors would not be quick to act on this matter. Perhaps one of the previous travelers had influence with the city watch?

Regardless, she shouldn't be too quick to believe his implication of good intentions. He might well be an agent of someone who sought to use the Travelers for their own gain. But she didn't need to trust him to make use of him and any clue or half-truth he might give would help her find the trail she was after.

She nodded, her grim glare lightening as she looked back to him, but not disappearing. Show weakness and he will strike without mercy. Show defiance and the result will be the same. This is a time for bargaining.

"Where I come from, we have many stories," she said. "The world is made of a great tapestry of stories, one might say, for what else are mortal lives? There is an order of holy men and women dedicated to redeeming the sins of the world and its peoples. Some of them are as noble and virtuous as anyone might ask and teach by example. Others are beasts in mortal skins who slay all who do not accept their teachings. And there are some who are a little of both. Yet they all have the same goal. The same can be said of every group that is large enough. Priests. Lords." She raised an eyebrow. "City watchmen. Yet you are brave to seek us out and I respect those who pursue knowledge, even that which might well bring them ill fortune. If we truly did have strange powers, we would surely have no difficulty in resisting arrest. But I also respect the rule of law and I am a stranger in your city. Indeed, I would like nothing more than to help you. I will answer your questions, but that is my price. Let me help you track down these strangers who do evil. Also...if you know anything of those strangers who came before people like those two..." She pointed at the hand-paintings he held. "...I'd like to know it. Everything you and your friends know about them. I have it on good authority that they never left this city and I'm willing to bet you don't want them here any more than you want us here." She shrugged. "Or you can arrest us. I'll go willingly and stay as long as you wish it. But some of my companions may not and I don't know that I can command them in this. And who knows what else these two people in your portraits may be up to in the meantime? There's always a price for knowledge. I know that all too well and I think you do too. I think we understand each other. Am I right?"

2B - Streets

As she strode down the street, 2B's attention was drawn to a commotion up ahead - Frowning, she paused for a moment, watching as a group of humans tried to break their way into what she had to assume was some sort of armored vehicle.

"Hypothesis: Vehicle and occupants are of extra-dimensional origin."'

2B glanced up at her pod. "Explain."

"The vehicle is constructed using more sophisticated technologies than local instances. In addition, occupants display significant divergence in clothing styles. Proposal: Unit 2B should assist in defending the vehicle."

He had a point. If they were from another dimension, they were either reinforcements or the deserters from the previous team. Resuming her steady steps forward, 2B materialized her smaller sword on her back and came up behind the thugs.

"You should just give up and leave them alone." She called out, one hand on her hips, the other still holding her case of winnings at her side. "If you haven't put a scratch on it yet, you're never going to."

Veronica, Batting Center

Spinning deftly on her heel to intercept the strike aimed at her back, Veronica danced backwards as Majima whirled forwards, her long knives moving rapidly to match his strikes blow for blow. Her own movements had the cold precision of a machine as she intercepted the one-eyed man's wilder attacks, her energy seemingly undiminished.

"Is flailing around like this really the best you can do?"

All of a sudden her stance changed and with a sharp twist of the wrist she caught his knife on the crossguard of her own, halting his advance and roughly jolting him backwards. With lightning speed she swung a leg upwards to deliver a swift boot to his gut.

Streets/Thugs/Car/Entrance/Etc

Well this wasn't expected.

In hindsight, the Analander could understand how a group of locals could have mistaken what he said as some sort of immoral trade. Though it was a bit surprising to have criminals react so violently to a crime. Of course, being shouted at and threatened for your life tends to snuff any rational thought at the time.

How dare these thugs decide to act with justice as if they were in the right! The Analander turned to the steering wheel and said, "Let me out. I will deal with these men." Now free from the vehicle, he stepped out onto the road and faced the group of thugs. He ignored the woman who approached - the racket from their assault masked her words, and to the Analander, she didn't stand out.

"You wish to fight?" Their words were lost on him, but he could understand their tone just fine. "A fatal mistake!"
