Einstein's Laboratory

Lillie frowned upon hearing Mother's words to Asgore, which sounded a little too much like a threat for her liking. On one hand, she supposed it was another sign Mother wasn't quite the same person she was before all this happened. On the other hand, she couldn't help but be reminded of Mother before all this happened.

The arrival of a newcomer, who incidentally happened to be the woman Nebby took an interest in, to their gathering put a stop to that line of thought. Mother already said what she would had said, so instead she just nodded.

"...Familiar?" she asked, "...If you mean Nebby, he's just my companion. He's also a Pokemon."

Nebby happily accepted the little bear's help in eating, although it also couldn't help but hop around a little after every spoonful.

Asgore - Einstein Laboratory

As he heard more of Lusamine's questions, Asgore's expression went from a cheerful smile to a frown as he slumped his shoulders a little, looking slightly down at the ground.

"Yes, I had a wife and children of my own, including a human child that fell into the Underground. However... a series of events led into a long, painful tragedy and now... I live alone." He explained, letting out a sigh, "As for our past relationship with humans... Many, many years ago there was a war between humans and monsters, the reason for it, we never knew for sure. The humans attacked suddenly and struck down the majority of our kind, those of us who survived were sealed Underground by them, by a barrier that lets anything come inside, but nothing to go outside. Thankfully, after so many years trying to find a way to go the surface again, it seems the humans have been more accepting of us." He managed a little, sad smile.

Sabrina, Einstein's Lab

"I shall go grocery shopping as well," Sabrina answered the others as she continued trying to telepathically communicate with KOS-MOS to see if it will even work.

Lusamine

"It takes a certain degree of bravery and strength of character to admit that, Mister Asgore, instead of attempting to hide it," Lusamine said to the Monster King. "I think most people deserve a shot at redemption, do you not? And you strike me as both honest and earnest, at the least."

She certainly wasn't one to talk when it came to forgiveness for past misdeeds. If he wished to be a good person now, she would give him a fair chance. It seemed as though she was not the only one attempting to better herself here, perhaps that was a common thread many of them shared. A chance to better themselves through these tribulations, a way to improve themselves by being sent through the flames and coming out stronger for it. And those who were beyond redemption... well, they could always be strangled by Bewear in their sleep.

"It's a bit more than groceries, but I'm sure we'll all be glad to have you along, I certainly am," she added to Sabrina. "Although, given that this world does not seem to have Pokemon, we may draw some undue attention if we do not keep them in their Pokeballs."

She glanced at Nebby. "Which... may prove a bit more difficult than we hope."

Einstein

"Your thanks are appreciated, but it is the least I can provide," the old professor told Reimu. "Your assignment is an unhappy one, and undoubtedly this is not your only job to do, once you return through the portal which has brought you here. These books would only inform you of a small subset of the infinite worlds there must be."

Asgore - Einstein Laboratory

Asgore looked at Lusamine with slightly confusion, while he was indeed looking for a chance of redemption, the reason for it he had not disclosed yet, so he didn't quite understand where she was coming from with it. Still, it seemed she got a good impression of him from it.

"Um... Thank you," he said, letting out a rather awkward chuckle, though he then looked concerned regarding the whole drawing attention thing, "I'm afraid that when it comes to drawing unwanted attention, I might be more of an issue than our little friend over there," he pointed out.

An Answer to Some of Your Troubles

Keeping quiet while the mother and goat youkai were having their little heart-to-heart, Momiji wavered around on the sidelines like seaweed drifting in the ocean current with a bland look in her face as she kept quiet and unobtrusive as possible. When it got the a lighter note and that part of the conversation that she could hop into, the misfortune goddess decided to contribute to the event in question. "Not a trouble with my handy dandy Instant Cosplay Ring! Not only can it change clothes but it can even change the outer appearance!" Putting herself into the thing, the straggly stringbean came out as a hulking monster that put to shame most mortal bodybuilders.

"Though take care not to put the new forms through a hard enough knock, thing's more like a solid illusion making a 'shell' around your true form rather than actually transforming your body into something it's not. The shifting of clothes however is more physical and that wears out by time limit rather than strong shocks. Anyone who wants to change their looks can borrow the hoop."

Demonstrating by pricking her bulging biceps with a pin, the hulking monstrosity of an exterior appearance 'popped' like a balloon to become her lanky and much less bulky original form. "Also fine, your Pokemon." Saying that new but somehow familiar term, Momiji glanced at Kumagai with a nod who was basically making friends. "I have none of those where I come from but I know full well the incongruity of having a proper term be substituted for a more chafing objectification."

Einstein's Laboratory

Lillie frowned in concern and sympathy as Asgore explained his story. It seemed like she wasn't the only one here with family troubles, although she had no idea if what he had gone through was anything like what she and Mother had gone through. She hoped it wasn't, although by just how sad he sounded there was the possibility that it might have been worse.

Once again, the newcomer kept her mind from going to distressing places by providing a convenient distraction, this time by demonstrating a means to disguise themselves.

"I think the professor said that this town isn't dangerous, if that means anything," she added, before glancing at Asgore. "Though if we're worried about not attracting attention, then I guess disguises would help." Then she turned to Nebby, who was still happily enjoying its time with its new friend. "I can just keep Nebby in the bag if he's going to be a problem, as much as I was hoping to not worry about that. He doesn't really like it in there, if you haven't already noticed...."

Guts - Einstein's Lab

Silent as a still night, Guts thought to himself that infiltrating an enemy base from the sky was going to be a new experience, but he doubted it was anything he couldn't handle. For now, it was time to prepare for the mission and rest.

Looking at the arsenal attached to him, he figured he was as well-prepared as he could be. So that left finding a place to crash. Aside from the rest, he was thinking of doing another count of how many arrows were on his person.

Getting off of his ass, the massive swordsman approached Einstein.

"How long are you gonna take before you can send us on our way, old man? Depending on your answer, I'm gonna need a place to myself. Alone."

"Only a few minutes," Einstein said to Guts.

Several Minutes Later

"Well then, the preparations with the Chronosphere are complete, I can send you when you are ready. Make sure to stand clear if you are not going, we wouldn't want any accidents. Just give yourselves a quick pre-flight inspection and let me know when to press the buttons, ja?" Einstein said.

After distributing parachutes and communicators to those who needed them, a large wooden crate had somehow been brought to the area of the portal. With intelligent computer controls and a pre-programmed path, it would allow those who didn't feel comfortable parachuting down to have a (hopefully) less-stressful option for deploying. One side of the crate was still open, waiting for those who elected to use it to get in before it would be shut.

Weiss Schnee—Einstein's lab—Fashion before Enemies

Weiss remained silent as she heard Einstein's words , this world was just so unlike Remnant. No dust, no Faunus, no semblance and no aura. Worst of all they didn't even have a good reason to kill this "Kane". Would she actually help kill this man just to get home? She sighed while looking down.

Momiji's comment about her magic cosplay ring quickly got the attention of the heiress. It was a brief distraction. Weiss turned around to glance The misfortune guides seemed to miss a screw, and she was very exasperating. But it was just too tempting not to ask.

The heiress walked towards Momiji. "I would like to accept your offer. I assume we're going to a cold place and I want to be prepared. Do you think you you could change my clothes"—She took out her scroll to show her a picture of herself— "to something like this?"

Asgore - Einstein's Laboratory

Asgore looked at the newcomer as she provided a solution to the current problem by showing something she called the "Cosplay Ring". Her demonstration was very impressive, so much that one could easily see how surprised the king was by it's effects.

"Golly, I have never seen magic like that before," he said, looking at the ring and trying to figure out how it worked, but couldn't come up with anything other than "magic", "Could this tool of yours do something like disguise me as a human?" He asked, clearly very curious.

Fashion, M'Dear

"Oh, it can do all that and more." Nodding and feeling a puff of pride at having that snooty little girl that reminded her slightly of dear old Ichiko ask for help, the goddess smirked before tossing the hoop at the Huntress. "Just unfurl the curtains and think of the clothes you want and it'll appear." Turning her gaze towards the youkai equivalent, the goddess did a quick mental calculation before nodding. "Oh yes, definitely. The disguise is pretty much a second skin and much more comfortable than any sort of mask or makeup, though that means it can't make you smaller than you are now. Still, it should help out quite a bit as long as you don't get pricked by anything sharp or do something silly like bounce off a hard surface at high speeds. Feel free to apply a disguise once the Swiss Miss over there's done. Anyone else who wants a disguise can feel free to borrow my Instant Cosplay Ring."

Theron — several minutes later

A parachute strapped to his back, Theron frowned; the earpiece of the device Einstein gave him wasn't quite with elves in mind, so it itched. He hoped that it won't distract him in a key moment; he also hoped that his decision to trust the white-haired shemlen (and to avoid the crate, which seemed smaller than his cell in Fort Drakon) was the right one. "Gods help me," he told Einstein. "I hope this contraption of yours won't end up killing me. That would be a rather ignoble end."

Kashira Lavellan - Here Lies the Abyss

With the communication problem more or less resolved and who was going where mostly settled, it seemed their preparations were nearly finished. Now all that was left was to kill a great many soldiers who knew nothing of the greater aims behind both powers here and whose only wish was to serve and protect their homeland. It so often began that way. The Templars, the Venatori, the Grey Wardens...the list went on. They all started with good intentions...well, for a certain definition of good...but they all believed in their cause and were mostly devoted to their homes. It was no different here and Kashira felt a familiar sorrow grasp at her heart and a terrible weight upon her shoulders. Even if Kane was as guilty as their allies made him out to be and intended to wreak devastation upon this world, that didn't mean what they did here was right, or good, or even noble. It was, she desperately hoped, necessary butchery. Simple mathematics. Their lives against those of the common folk of this world. Despite it all, she was glad such things still grieved her. She had heard that it was when she no longer balked at ruthless action that she should fear.

She marvelled briefly at the transformative powers of the ring of digsuises, and when the opportunity came, availed herself of it. While a human wielding magic would be no less attention-getting than an elf, presuming they managed to retreat, being able to blend in with the natives might well prove useful if they met commoners along the way. First, she buckled on her helmet, which it seemed as though she had always either lacked time to do or neglected since they first came to the Tower. When she handed the ring on to whoever desired to make use of it next, she appeared as a human, missing the distinctive Dalish vallaslin, and wearing something analagous to what the Tanya of this world did, but without any insignia. She could pass for a soldier tolerably well on Thedas, and might be able to here...as long as she didn't have to talk.

After fussing with the straps of her sailcloth - she thought the word made more sense than the native term - and, much like Theron, struggling to get the communications device seated firmly (June, did you have to make my ears so gods-awful big?) she heard his remark about the potential fate that waited them.

"A friend of mine once told me that we all die alone, that no end is noble," she said quietly. "What matters is that in life, we don't give up. We keep going. That's as close to winning as anyone ever gets." She grinned briefly. "That being said, I'm quite scared myself. And...well, very excited. This is as close to flying as I'll ever get. Haven't you ever wondered what it's like to be able to fly?"

To the rest of the group, while she awaited his answer, she said, "I'm ready when everyone else is. The sooner this is done with, the better."

Patches gets his Touhou on
While indeed, a magic ring that could change one's appearance at a whim would be extremely useful, and it would be just terrible if someone lost it in the near future, Patches managed to find his own gear using his own two hands.

Now, indistinguishable from the man he once was, Patches wore one'a those comfortably snug pilot's caps and some goggles, because he'll need some insulation on his head where he doesn't have any naturally occuring, right? As for the rest of his suit, he just dropped the shoulder armor. He figured people still dress like this in other worlds. He'd probably look like a farmer.

Patches stood with the rest of his compatriots, looking strapping with his new parachuting attire, and said "Alright, send me out there, old fellow! I trust you enough with whatever magic you're pulling."

Tanya

"Flying is both liberating and yet something that makes you feel how small you are." Glancing at that wistful elf who was now disguised as a human, I couldn't help but mutter that towards the romanticist words. "You can feel as free as a bird... but also know that there is a limit of where you can go and how much of the world is out there unaffected by your personal choices." Applying the skullcap to keep these unruly blonde curls under suppression and putting on the goggles to as to not have vision be affected by g force, I then wrapped my aviator's scarf about my mouth snugly. The perfect little aerial mage if I do say so myself.

"Worry not, I have my own parachute and I can fly through sorcery. Chances are I can fine-tune my landing approach to be ground-side faster than everyone else and help clear a suitable landing zone for you all." Holding the ever important rifle that was capable of both aggression and self-defense, I got ready to once more head into the fray. Like always I had no choice but to do battle, dancing as if a puppet in the hands of beings with way too much power. It was a most uncomfortable feeling but my rebellion will still go on.

Weiss-Preflight—My precious.

A ring that can change shape that wasn't powered by dust? Could it be magic? The heiress caught the ring that the misfortune goddess had thrown at her. She closed her eyes thinking of her "snowpea" jacket.

"This actually worked." —She looked down, watching her shape-shifted clothes—"Maybe you're not so bad after all," she told Momiji with a faint smile.

She handed the ring to Asgore. "What you said about living underground...Something similar happened back in my world. One of my friends even hid from us that she was different. But I decided that it doesn't matter to me."

Einstein's Lab

"Very well, good luck, I hope to see you all again soon and in good health, ja?" Einstein said to the Climbers after they had assembled at the portal. He then pressed a big red button at the terminal in his office.

For a brief moment, the 'shield' from earlier reappeared, once again blocking the portal area off from the rest of the world. Looking out, it was all those inside could see.

A moment later, the shield was replaced with stars.

Asgore- Einstein's Lab

Asgore watched as Weiss used the ring and changed clothes with it. She then began to them tell him that something similar happened in her home, something that puzzled him a little. Did she live in a world where humans were the ones imprisoned underground instead? She ended up having to leave before he could reply, so that was something to ask later.

Before she went, however, she gave her the ring for him to try out. He did it the same way he had seen the others do and, once he was done, he was looking much more human although he still towered over most people. His outfit also changed to that a pink hawaian shirt with a white flower pattern and a pair of dark purple pants.

"Golly! It really worked!" He said, clearly in awe as he looked at his now human hands, but then he realized what outfit he was wearing and that perhaps it wasn't the most appropriate choice "Um... Should I try different clothes?" He asked the others who were still there.

Heavy - A Change of Clothes

As Heavy's body was adjusted to the icy temperatures of the Soviet Union, it had been a while since he last visited, even after the old man had fired them. He took a "cosplay ring" and placed it on his finger, carefully as not to break it. His normally bald head has been adorned with a ushanka, the bandolier is replaced by a belt full of pouches, and his pants gained kneepads. His scratched his chin and nodded in approval, "Is good clothes." He approached the portal with a parachute and communication piece provided for his trip and walked to the portal.

Guts - Wow, didn't expect it to be that fast

After a brief instruction on using parachutes and communicators, Guts frowned and tensed as he prepared to deploy. The parachute he could get, but how the hell did this 'communicator' thing work? He eventually shoved the thought away as meaningless. As long as it worked, y'know?

Though there was no time to rest, Guts didn't complain. In fact, he welcomed it. The sooner the job was done, the sooner he could find the Ruler and cleave his head in two, as he did with all Apostles.

Silently and deliberately refusing the 'cosplay ring' with his inattentiveness (his dark apparel was already suited to missions at night), he approached the portal behind the fat man. The parachute pack rested on top of his sword, making a sort of Dragonslayer sandwich, a rather odd juxtaposition of eras.

Lab

-Decades earlier, Toph had felt the greatest fear of her life when she was dangling from Sokka's arm into empty space, with a flaming dirigeable as their only hope for survival. She had never thought the horrible feeling of utter helplessness would strike again, especially not at her age. Yet when someone grabbed her unceremoniously and took her to the machine, she had only a split second of dread to warn her before the world disappeared entirely.-

In the air

-The earth was gone, and with it, her seismic sense and only way of knowing where she was. At the center of an infinite void spreading in all directions, with only the howling wind to remind her of gravity. Perhaps she screamed, she could not hear or even feel the sound. With nothing to transmit her companion's heartbeats, the only indication of their presence was the metal they carried, and only as a weak and blurry sensation.-

-What felt like an eternity later, there was a jerk as the parachute deployed, the wind dying down considerably. The elation Toph felt on sensing the approaching earth far below was nothing like the day she discovered metalbending, gave her father undeniable proof of her worth or finally made up with both her daughters, but it was definitely in the top ten. As they landed with a dull thump, the ground rose to meet her, encasing her like a particularly dirty snowman.-

Never... ever... doing that again.

-Even apedung-lunatics from other universes managed to have teleporters that were on target. How were they supposed to trust someone whose idea of getting his allies across the world quickly involved throwing them in the air and letting them fall on dissolving cloth?-

-The familiar feeling of being enclosed by solid earth restores Toph's mind to its normal state, remembering the mission. Exhaling slowly, she stamps the ground, sensing a distant, jumbled mass of metal.-

All right, let's get this done.

Claw

To fly... was exciting.

Well, it wasn't really flying, more like gliding. Nevertheless, falling from such great height at such a low speed was a new experience to Claw and so far, he loved every second of it. The cold evening air was cool, but it wasn't anything he wasn't accustomed to. Here was hoping there wouldn't be too much snow. Snow he would admit he had seen too little of and enough already.

There was some trouble with unloading the chute, but once it was out and his body adjusted to a sudden jerk, he made sure to adjust his hat and focus on finding a good spot to land. The base was out there, grim and ominous in how it sprawled over the ground. He tapped his ear, where this communication contraption was attached to, well, communicate with others. It was resting there comfortably with no fear of falling out.

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen. What is our plan?" The general idea was for one group to sneak in and the other to cause distraction, but they probably needed to make some sort of cohesion to the idea.

Baron

Silly this might have been to admit, this was actually Baron's first time parachuting.

The cold was getting to him a little, but he would be damned if he admitted to such silly weakness. He could produce some fire right away, but it was probably unwise to ignite his fists while falling on a parachute. Some waiting was in order.

But man, he was excited. Beating up some commies? Add something to check out from the bucket list.

Infiltration

Flying was easy, something that various formulas and algorithms fed into the computation orb handled with considerable aplomb. Soaring through the skies like a bird, a quick check showed that magic was still viable in this universe, most likely due to the fact that the source of this energy came from inside the human body born from the different Earth. Sure one had to use to computation orb as a magical focus but it ultimately originated from the user and thus was a resource that was hard to deprive overall.

Angling the body into a freefall because an air battle was not needed at this point in time and due to the fact that Soviet technology was at a sufficient enough level to negotiate aerial mage superiority in the sky, I conserved my magic by letting the constant figures of terminal velocity and gravity take over, angling myself straight towards the ground before suddenly performing a somersault to cushion myself a few dozen meters from hitting the ground to land on my feet like all the other times I've performed this maneuver.

Before the long descent though, a quick look through the binoculars at the height of the teleportation showed the location of the enemy base off into the distance, roughly a bit of a brisk clip away if my estimation was to be believed. Turning to regard the other combat-ready individuals that were now touching down, I couldn't help but flash a slight smile. "For now, a lay of the lands. Charging straight in will just slow us down so we need to figure out the quickest way inside without alerting the sentries. If there's a viable cover to hide ourselves during the reconnaissance, then we'll head there first. If not, then try to be as quiet as possible on the way towards the base." Peering around, a quick surveying of the geography was to be in order even as my two feet began padding towards the half completed center of operations.

Momiji

"Maybe something with trousers and suspenders? That's what I believe would be "in-fashion" as of the current time period." Taking a good look at the Hawaiian garb worn by the transmorgified goat king, Momiji gave her honest two yen to the ruler of monsters. Despite the hilarity of the man wearing such flowery and colorful things to the town, it'd pretty much draw attention like miso would draw binbougami and make the human disguise moot in the end. Demonstrating by taking the ring back and popping out dressed in ubiquitous an example of 1920's garb, the goddess twirled all around to give Asgore a good view of how the tailoring was done before handing the hoop back over. The fact that the men's clothes was surprisingly really fitting along with her frame made the thin woman sad though.

The Kid, Einstein's Lab

Realizing it would be wiser to let those who had a better idea of the situation ask the questions and discuss, The Kid stood quietly nearby and absorbed any necessary information. Taking the parachute and comms, the young soldier found he couldn't put it on over his shield and pack. A quick shuffle saw that fixed. He had the general idea of how it worked down, and it wouldn't be the first time he'd fallen from high up. It was pretty much the only way to get around back home after the Calamity.

Like he did before anything like this, The Kid took the time you down a shot of his Spirits, grimacing lightly as they again mixed together into a lingering taste that was a foul combination of the already terrible flavours. Thankfully the Lifewine helped take the edge off. Then, he turned to the assembled group; And held out a bottle that they were free to take. "Here. Take a decent mouthful, and mind the taste. They'll help with any fighting."
