Claw, huh

The pirate was about to retort with a biting remark that if it's just staring, then Cole can just stare somewhere else... but then the fellow from earlier bellowed in rage and the big-hatted lad just turned into someone who's about to keel over.

"Hush, lad." The last thing he needed - the last thing they all needed - was Guts anywhere near the bonfire, especially if he was so eager to smash something into paste with that slab of metal of his. "Whoever felt the need to set that man off again?" He looked over the recent arrivals, eyes finally setting upon Zasalamel with a frown.

Baron, Hold Up

"Aw... hell naw." Things were going out of whack here at this tower.

He'd love to just sit around and talk about the silliest of things, but as someone had noticed before, they were in this together and it was probably best that they had some semblance of teamwork going on. Screaming, shouting and killing people's dogs wasn't the thing they needed.

Of course, Baron was aware of his hypocrisy, but unlike Dio, Guts was just an asshole. Everybody was an asshole if you pushed them, thus his shit had to be pushed in way further than it was healthy. With a heave the golden and magnificent figure picked himself up. "One moment, playas." In a startling display of missing common sense, Baron made a beeline towards the Black Swordsman. Again.

"Ya could be an orchestra with a scream like that." He grinned as means of saying hi. "Yanno, everybody's back at da fire. Don't wanna mosey over? Ya ain't doin' yourself any favors by skulkin' around like a muthafuckin' spook."

"And 'sides, that tower's cold as shit."

Weiss—An expected hug.

Before Lusamine approached her, the heiress nodded at Lillie after she explained her situation. "Aren't you an adowable ,"Pokémon", yes you are?" She smiled at Nebby. " I wish we had creatures like that in my world, instead of those dreaded creatures of Grimm."

Lusamine's warm embrace came as a shock to the heiress. Weiss first opened her eyes widely. During the duration of the hug, she closed her eyes and sighed. She had rudely refused Ruby's hugs un the past. Ruby could be too cloying at times. But this was different. The motherly embrace of the owner of the Aether foundation. How could she refuse to such gesture of kindness?

She didn't quite return the hug. The heiress was too cold for that. But Weiss did held Lusamine back. Such a motherly embrace was something she hadn't felt in a long time. Her heart beat faster while it lasted.

"I... apreciate It," she replied after hearing Lusamine's warm words. "I'll do my best to keep you and your daughter safe."

After Lusamine's gesture of kindness, Weiss turned to Lilly, "You're lucky your mother is here to take for you."

"I have been paying attention," she complained after hearing Qrow clarifying multiversal differences. It wasn't any less of a shock. Everything she they took for granted as being normal in her world was different in others. "How was I supposed to know? How do they even have technology without dust?"

After Qrow expressed his concerns with privacy, she turned her attention to Cole

"How dare you read our minds without our permission?" She said indignantly, while frowning. " We deserve our privacy. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should." She crossed her arms at him.

Minding the Mind Reader

I splinted the cleaned fish and began to turn it about over the fire, hands moving with the practiced ease of someone that had learned how to survive in the wilderness by nursing what small amount of luxuries they could find- in this case fresh fish. Given the fact that it was freshwater and thus is far more liable to carry around parasites if not prepared properly, gashes into the side and belly reached deep inside so that the heat distribution was able to penetrate to the very depths of the fish and kill off all such annoying things.

Rotating around and around end over end, I all but became a glorified rotisserie as my concentration was focuses primarily on the aquatic animal and secondarily on the surroundings. It was when the fact that there was a mind reader lurking about that I couldn't help but freeze up for the slightest of moments, fish dipping lower into the fire before being plucked back out with a bit of char on the skin.

Logical steps were taken into accounts as my mind organized all such pertinent information on the living scarecrow, peering on his countenance with a blank gaze. A two shot salute would be the order of the day if things would come to that point in time, the first to immobilize and the second to make sure. Sadly, such thoughts were baseless since intra-group violence is mightily frowned at in these parts and I'd be making quite a bit of enemies if I went that route. A most perplexing dilemma this was, like having a thorn in the side that one can't simply pluck out. Military secrets must remain confidential after all...

Zazy (tower)-Not my fault!

My eyes remained on the mind reading boy as he spoke to another, who for some unknown reason wanted to have her mind read. It seemed she too sought the secret of mind reading, although even a layman completely unfamiliar with magic in general could tell that her method left something to be desired. Regardless, the boy revealed more details, as he claimed to be a spirit of some form. An interesting fact if true, but this told me little.

From behind me, the man I had been speaking with suddenly gave a bestial roar. I did not hear any loud footsteps charging my position, and so I completely ignored him, not even turning to look. the boy, on the other hand, suddenly appeared to have been struck by an invisible blow, and spoke in another voice. Quickly, I understood this was likely the internal words or memories of the roaring man's inner thoughts.

It was at this point I considered that perhaps I had used the wrong terminology. Given the boy's words earlier that he could only sense people's "Hurts" as he had termed it, and his words to the overeager girl that he could not sense much from her, only to almost double over at a surge of raw emotion. I concluded the boy was some form of Empath. And if my observations were correct, he lacked the ability to turn this ability off. I decided to reconsider the value of gaining this power for myself. Some powers were better left unclaimed, as I had long ago learned myself. Then I felt anothers eyes on me, and turned to see a bizarre image of some form of cat standing on two legs in what appeared to be a pirate outfit glaring at me disapprovingly. Clearly this was in relation to the roaring man.

"I only approached the man to attempt to dissuade him from wasting time attacking our captors. The man appears to believe in a spartan type worldview, and claims that he exists only to do battle, and that is his only purpose. In my experience, such men are difficult to impossible to reason with, and I would advise caution around him. Additionally, he does not appear to be a fan of immortals, something I was unaware of when I approached him."

Locksmith - The Second Floor, Unlocked

When all the Climbers had had the time to eat, rest up and drink tea, Locksmith finally stood up and took out the Sword of Light that he had received from KOS-MOS. Walking over to the stone door, he reached out and fit the once sacred relic of the Kingdom of Light into the open lock. The stone enveloped the blade as it had done its darker twin. When the keyhole had been filled, the grand door split into two mirrored halves with a loud CRACK, then started opening inwards.

Beyond the stone door, a grand staircase stretched into the distance. It was wide and tall enough to accomodate a large truck or beast of burden, but otherwise the walls and roof enveloped the stairs closely, in the same smooth grey stone of the first floor. As the Climbers ascended, however, the stone would slowly transition into concrete and plated steel, patchwork at first, then slowly getting more consistent until finally the Climbers were surrounded by smooth pale grey concrete, reinforced here and there with plates and pillars of steel.

Soon after the walls had changed in their entirety, the Climbers emerged on the second floor. The shape and size of the room were roughly the same as the first floor, but the fittings had changed. The gates leading to the next world were no longer finely wrought and elegant creations worthy of a palace, but military-grade steel portals still in an odd black and gold pattern. The door that obstructed the way onwards to the next floor was similarly a large creation of plain grey steel. And pale and unflickering fluorescent tube lights had taken the place of the torches along the walls.

Reimu floated up the stairwell, her feet hovering a short distance over the floor, then waited at the top. Risinn looked around the room in dazzled wonder, before finding a place near the black and gold steel gates. The Locksmith hobbled across the floor, his leg now fully healed, and took up position by the locked steel doors. And those who would study the doors to find out what the Key was would notice immediately that in the center of the doors was the unmistakeable indentation of a human skull.

Heavy - Before Ascending the Tower

The Heavy had looked around his new motley crew, he saw the pimp trying to console with the angry swordsman, the bald reaper-like man, the kid in white with a strange creature. Merasmus could not be this creative unless he had played too much tabletop games. But that was not important, he had to rest for the next floor.

He woke up early as he used to do when his compatriot, the Soldier had instructed him to do so. However, he was still here with all these people, meaning this was no dream from the wizard. On the plus side, he didn't have to hear Scout's complaining.

He gathered his guns, ammo, and sandwiches walked up the newly revealed stairs to floor number two. He noticed that the stone had been replaced with metal and the torches turned to lights. He looked to the two doors, a portal similar to the one below and a steel door, outfitted with a lock with the hole of a skull. He smirked inwardly, this is more like it. He walked towards the Locksmith and inquired, "What is behind portal?"

Guts, Before - WHAT?!

can't forgive immortal men.

not for what they did.

forged onwards to slay them.

stepped into the darkness where he belonged.

where they would come for him.

where no one else would get hurt.

because of him.

Too late, footsteps behind him. He wasn't alone at the moment.

("For fuck's sake...")

Guts had to turn rather reluctantly. Hoping to the god he didn't believe in that it was at least someone who wasn't going to mouth his ear off, of course, it had to turn out to be the gold-drabbed court jester from before. He spoke of bringing him over to the fire, an invitation to stop gossiping with the shadows. Ridiculous.

"No, I don't."

Drawing a breath, the swordsman heaved a sigh, letting loose his previously clenched jaws.

"You people really are idiots. Haven't heard of the Black Swordsman, have you? Then maybe you really are all from different worlds. But let's get something straight, you're better off without me."

The end of his lip twitched upwards, his smirk returning.

"Or would you rather let the little kids in that group die because of me?"

He turned his back to Dis Here Baron once more, his flesh hand pointing to the back of his neck. There, a brand, jagged like a scar, like someone with shaky hands took a heated needle to the skin.

"See this here? Demons come for this. And anything else in their way gets slaughtered. Get the picture now?"

The reality that the demons might not even be able to pay him a visit in these separate worlds mattered little to him. They'd come eventually, somehow. Besides that, four words in his thoughts were all that Guts needed to reaffirm that he wasn't going to be a part of this group anytime soon.

You should have died.

To Cole, these four words would've bled out of Guts' mind like blood from a cut. Disappointment, then despair, then resignation. Like a three-course meal of emotional hellfire.

Guts began walking further into the darkness, with only three more words for the Baron.

"Leave me be."

Claw, Before

"Yet you, in your infinite wisdom of an immortal being, saw fit to argue with him and set him off as a result." Claw's eyebrow raised in indignation. "Can you perhaps not do that the moment it becomes obvious you cannot win the argument?"

With that out of the way he went back to the issue of Cole and Weiss' own indignation. "From what I understand, he has no control over it - and not half a mind to think before speaking." He muttered to the heiress, though the latter part of his sentence was mostly devoid of malice.

Baron, Then

"Brudda, lemme tell ya sumthin'. Dis here Baron? I've been 'round people all my life. I know what makes 'em tick, what they like, what they dun like. Ya're puttin' on da show, and it's a mighty fine show, but deep within... I can see a playa who isn't as bad as he make himself out to be."

"I have dis homie back home, Jack. He's a lot like you, bud: quick to anger, dressed in all black, with a fuckin' ridiculous weapon, with tons a' issues and a soft spot for kids. Baron might not like a thinkin' man, but I ain't some two-bit bitch-ass who only fists the muddafuckas." Despite that, one had to wonder if the choice of words was unintentional on Baron's part here. "I didn't become myself without a good pair of ol' eyes."

"And dat cut on ya neck? Fuck dat noise. I ain't seeing no demons here, other than dat giant goat muddafucka over there and he's as good as a lamb, dig? If they come, ya can bet your morose ass there won't be no thang left of those shitstains. Ya'll make sure of that, dis here Baron will, and every playa here will. No kid ain't dyin' on our watch."

Claw, Now

Well, that was a change of scenery, for sure. The stone and the shining steel combined together made for an eerie combination, one that Claw had found himself largely unfamiliar with. Back at the first floor it all made sense, the surroundings were perceivable within reason.

It seemed they were going to venture into a world that was more technologically advanced than the one of warring elves. And what were those bulbs over the walls? They gave light, but this one felt definitely not warm or inviting unlike the torches.

And then, of course, was the door of gold and black, with some space left for something that obviously was a skull. "That about covers the increasing difficulty of these floors..." He muttered dryly before turning to the group at large. "The good news is, there is only a single key this time. The bad news is, we'll have to kill for it and drag the poor man's head here."

Baron, Now

Now this was more familiar. He almost felt as if he was at home or at least somewhere close to it. The surroundings looked like some sort of military base, a sign that signalized a theme for the next floor and made Baron hum idly, regarding the seemingly increasing level of difficulty.

"Dat's more like Baron's style, alright!" He grinned at the announcement from some cat pirate-looking motherfucker. "Yo, old man! Who we gotta waste for da head?"

Theron — when one waves one's hands

After his talk with cole petered out, Theron mostly kept to himself. He did not wish to intrude on the others' conversations and arguments, and frankly he was pretty tired; so he found the quietest corner, sat down with his back to the wall, and closed his eyes.
The noises of Dio and Guts' scuffles made him get up, but he ended up staying where he was. Only when the Locksmith opened the door to the next floor did he leave his spot, ascending with the rest of the group. He looked at the décor with distaste — it reminded him too much of a dungeon — but did not comment; instead, he joined the congregation near the door.
"It is possible that the skull we need is one of an already-dead person," Theron told Claw. "I've seen Darkspawn use such skulls as decorations."

Gaige (Tower Floor two)-Cool

Gaige walked upstairs and looked around, taking in the sights before turning to D.Va to comment.

"Oh, cool, the tower changes on each floor. Probably themed off of what the challenge is, which means we're probably going to a way higher tech level world on this level. Maybe we'll even be able to get an Echonet connection!"

Zazy (Tower Floor Two)-Welcome to the future

I elected to ignore this cat who decided to get involved in matters that should not concern him, as the door to the next floor opened. Finally, this pointless waste of time would end and we could get on with this. I finished the fish, and ascended with everyone else. I found myself in a most curious room, built top to bottom in slabs of metal, with metal gates standing in for the doors that had been in their place last time.

I briefly looked at the skull indentation on the door, making the objective rather clear. A man would need to die, or we could be removing a skull from a skeleton. While others would likely begin to dwell on the moral implications if the scene I witnessed downstairs was any indication, I approached another curious sight. A metal cylinder, with glass on the 4 largest sides that light seemed to be coming out of. Yet, it did not appear to be a torch, as I could not see an open flame on the inside. cautiously, I reached up with my scythe to tap it with the point to see if it had any effect, which it did not.

"What form of magic is this, to create light without fire?" I wondered out loud to myself.

Asgore - 2nd Floor

So much happened, it was hard to keep track of everything. The thing that was of most interest to Asgore was the fact that Cole confirmed he was a mind reader, one that seemingly could not turn said powers off and could sense the pains of everyone in there. It was no surprise he knew of the six humans that fell in the Underground in that case.

Getting some fish for himself and quickly finishing it as well as his tea, he followed everyone to the second floor. It certainly looked very different from the previous floor. He couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable with dull grey steel walls around them, it all felt decidedly unfriendly. Moving over to the door, he saw the unsettling skull indentation in the wall. Was that the key to open this door? He could only hope they wouldn't have to take the skull of someone who was still living.

He then heard the scythe-carrying human from before ask about the type of magic that must have been used for the lights on the wall. It was enough to make Asgore let out a brief chuckle.

"It's not magic, friend, just technology. Does your home not have this kind of artificial light?" He asked, a bit curious.

Sumireko, Second Floor
The second floor seemed like it was made to break her idea of an "easy" challenge, but really, it was just disconcerting. Sumireko's had plenty of skulls lying around over the years, both crystal and real human ones. Taking one more was something that she could've done herself!

The one, much more imposing-looking, black man seemed to have a problem with the idea of the bewitching allure of fluorescent lightbulbs. Now this, this was her forte. Sumireko had already spent plenty of time teaching the backwards people of Gensokyo about the mysterious magic of the outside world, so this should be a piece of cake.

"I don't think he does, actually," she said as she butted in between the man and his goat friend, leaving him no room to answer. "Not everyone has electricity out there. But, yeah, hold on..."

She slipped a hand behind her and brought out a thin, black slab, almost featureless on one side and with a golden pentagram on the other. "You know lightning, right? In simple terms, people in the future know how to take lightning and use it to power things instead of oil, or coal. We call it electricity."

With a quick press of a button, the mysterious slab lit up and not only was it giving off light, it was giving off a multitude of lights and creating a perfectly life-like image! That is to say, Sumireko's lockscreen was her taking a dumb-looking selfie in front of the Hakurei Shrine, sticking her tongue out with a bemused-looking Reimu off in the distance.

"We can do a lot more than just light with electricity, like perfectly copying an image from life and keeping it around like this."

Okay, maybe it was less "teach backwards man about lights" and more "wow backwards man and make herself look like a God," but this is the kind of person Sumireko is.

Sabrina, The Second Floor

Sabrina had remained silent through Cole's revelation that he was a mind reading. She thought to remain silent about it, but did try to send Cole a telepathic message to talk with her when they were alone. She felt that would be all that was needed... After having time to eat and feed her Pokemon and resting up, Sabrina was soon ready to head up to the second floor. She had returned her Pokemon back to their Pokeballs before climbing up the Tower to the second floor.

"This seems more akin to my world's technology, though... We wouldn't be getting a human skull from my world," Sabrina noted before pointing at Sumireko. "She is right about the lights in here... These lights are even less dangerous than torches would be, though please do not tap it with your blade again."

Qrow - Tower, Floor 2

Well, this was looking familiar. Grey steel, fluorescent lights... just add snow, and this place would look like Atlas.

Hell, maybe it was Atlas.

The key this time was a skull, it seemed. So, either they were stealing a corpse, or this was a kill/capture mission.

He didn't like the thought of being sent by this "Ruler" to kill someone. Usually, when he killed someone they deserved it.

Then again, if it was Atlas, they probably deserved it.

Hell, maybe it was Jacques Schnee. Getting rid of him would be doing half the planet a favour.

Qrow approached the Locksmith, adding a bit of sway into his steps.

"So..." he said, adding a little slur into his voice. "Do we just bring the head, or can the rest of the body come along for the ride?"

The Kid, Second Floor - Handwave

After getting his answer, The Kid took his leave and made his way back to his equipment. After a quick check over and something to eat from the food being cooked nearby, the teenager put his head down on his pack and rested for a time. It was a light sleep, as it usually was, but it gave him enough to be refreshed. The remainder of the time, the boy spent practicing and training with his machete.

Pausing, The Kid watched curiously as the Locksmith placed the second sword into the door. Collecting his stuff, the teen was quick to be ready to move ahead, already starting to feel like they'd been sitting around long enough. Climbing the now revealed stairway, he watched curiously as the stone on the floor smoothed out slowly, the walls becoming metal. Soon, he found himself in another room, made of oddly smooth stone and thick metal. It was lit with strange lines of light that glowed brightly. It wasn't very important, though, compared to what was obviously the next gate to another land. It was all metal, and in an odd choice of gold and black. The soldier itched to get moving through it already, but turned his attention to the Locksmith and the next key.

Moving forward, the sight of the indentation made The Kid's lips thin briefly beneath his scarf. It was a gory choice of a key to collect, but it had to be done, right? He had little other choice. He glanced at Qrow, and replied to the man's question. "I'm sure just the head would do. Looking at the shape, most likely just the skull itself as well." That it was an extremely morbid idea, didn't need to be said.

The Tower

"Judging by the portal," the Locksmith replied to The Heavy. "It would seem to be a modern world, approximately a standard human pre-spaceflight civilization. There are not a lot of other species that use concrete. Any more than that, I can not say without taking a look outside. But there is a chance you will be able to access advanced communications systems, yes, unless it's postapocalyptic."

"Now, for the Key..."

The Locksmith touched the lock, testing the groves and holes as he murmured odd incantations and spells.

"It is indeed a skull, not an uncommon Key. The person in question is currently alive, and carries a power of some magnitude. I sense strong energies in them, though their nature is unknown to me. There is something special at work here, the feeling of a protected entity. He, yes, it is a male, is likely to be a man of high standing or particular status. I shall attempt to create a picture for you."

Murmuring a magic spell, the Locksmith conjured a piece of parchment upon which was drawn with magical energies the rough monochrome sketch of a man.

"The conditions of this kind of lock are as follows. You are to bring this man's head, or skull. It does not matter if he is dead or alive. But if he is still alive when he is brought here, the process of opening the lock will kill him. There are variants of this lock that leaves the person or creature alive, but this is not one of them. If the skull is broken, just bring all the pieces that you can."

"I would also give you this piece of advice. The Ruler does not give such a Challenge lightly. While They do play games with the lives of mortals, Their actions are rarely without cause. If this man's death is necessary for you to move on, his death also means that his passing is important for the fate of the world you will visit in some way."

Zazy (Tower Floor 2)-Ruminations

I turned as the goat king and some unknown girl who appeared to be dressed in some form of absurd looking outfit addressed my question. As the girl explained, I considered. It was indeed true that lightning held power, this much I had witnessed for myself, and it gave off its own form of light. But the idea that such power could be contained within such a small box without shattering it....to be frank, the idea was absurd.

Then the girl reached into her pocket and pulled out a box about the size of a hand, and taped on it for a second before turning it to show me some form of image of her at an unknown location. Yet, it was clearly not a drawing or a painting. I raised my eyebrow as I leaned down to look closer at this box. After a moments consideration, I spoke.

"Girl, I know not what you seek to gain from this, nor what forms of magic you are employing to create such an illusion, but I am not so easily fooled, Such a thing as containing the overwhelming power of pure lightning is impossible without magic. You truly expect me to believe man has achieved such a thing unaided, or somehow has created a device capable of creating a permanent image that is not drawn or painted?" I reflected a moment before asking another question. "What year do you claim to hail from, girl?"

Asgore - 2nd Floor

So the key was the skull of a living man, the mere thought of having to kill someone and bring their skull to open a door made Asgore flinch. Yet, it didn't look like they were being much of a choice. What the Locksmith was saying offered very little comfort as well, if that man was fated to die or not, it didn't make things much better.

He opted to distract himself by focusing on the current conversation he was having. The young human girl proceeded to explain everything to the man, who was understandably skeptical and even asked what year she came from. This was quite curious for him, because as it turned out she also seemed to be from the past, just less so.

"I do not believe she is lying, although we come from different worlds, the technology level does not seem to be all that different between our homes. I even have a similar device to the one she has," he said, reaching into his armor and pulling it out as proof, "we call them cellphones"

He looked back and forth between his cellphone and hers, to see if there was any notable difference, but in the end it would boil down to the functions each of them could do. Honestly, he himself wasn't fully aware of everything he could do with a cellphone, he really just used it for communication purposes.

"Although I seem to be a little further ahead from you. I come from the 22th century,"

Zazy (Tower Level Two)-Very funny kid

I could not help but allow myself a rare chuckle of amusement as the girl claimed to be from a mere 400 years in the future. The goat king also spoke, attempting to back her story, but I disregarded him. His world was too different from my own to be used as a common point.

"Truly you must think me the fool, girl. My name is Zasalamel, I come from the year 1592. And if you expect me to believe that humanity, who for thousands of years has stagnated, continuously repeated the mistakes of their fathers, and otherwise failed to evolve, will suddenly develop methods of preforming acts like the ones you claim they have done on their own, then you are truly naive."

KOS-MOS, Timeskipped to 2F

"I have committed this to memory." KOS-MOS stood from where she had been kneeling to peer at the visage of their target, and offered their guide a smile. "Thank you, Locksmith."

Overhearing the conversation about human history nearby, however, the space-age gynoid couldn't help but stride over and add her own input. It would be troublesome for their prospects in the future if the robed man was in disbelief about the state of technological advancement, after all, as intelligent of a wizard as Zasalamel may have been.

"According to available records, the consensus among historians is that geographic distance between the Eastern Hemisphere and colonial settlements in the Western Hemispheres allowed for experimentation with new forms of social and political systems and, along with concurrent development of several related technologies from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, resulted in several political revolutions in existing nation-states, as well as rapid and sustained rates of increase in lifespan, educational attainment, and quality of life for a large proportion of the human population," she added helpfully. Sometimes, not needing to breathe was incredibly useful.

2F

-So that's what it is. Having had sufficient experience with putting away murderers and assassins, Toph has no wish to join their ranks. It wouldn't be the first world-spanning conflict that she helped end without killing anyone. She gets up and goes to the Locksmith.-

When you say it'll kill him, how exactly will it do that?

Lusamine - Second Floor

"This is ridiculous! I am a mother. I raise Pokémon and run a charity. I don't kill people, and certainly no daughter of mine is going to get blood on her hands," Lusamine said to the Locksmith, clearly upset.

"Lillie," she said, leaning down so she could brush her daughter's bangs out of the way. "I need you to listen to me. Even if they say it's for a good reason, killing people is wrong. You're still just a child, you don't want the burden of seeing people die, or making them die. It's very hard to deal with, and even adult have a very hard time recovering. Do you remember how hard it was when your father left? Killing someone can hurt even worse than that."

D.Va - Second Floor

D.Va stomped along next to Zasalamel in her big stomping mech and paused.

"Wow, you're old. That's when Columbus is from. People back then must have been super stupid, you guys didn't have the internet and you spent a long time using pointy sticks and stuff instead of computers and robots. Technology is way better now. My dad said that when he was a kid, StarCraft pros were such noobs they couldn't get more than 1000 APM. Nano Cola."

She pulled out a can of Nano Cola and held it out from the opening in her mech at Zasalamel.

Weiss Schnee—After the time skip—Second floor.

Weiss walked upstairs along with the others. The way the stair case formed, gave her memories of her home back on Vale. But not in a good way. Seeing her father so soon wasn't exactly on her priority list.

Overhearing the conversation about magic that D.Va, Zazy, Sumeriko and D.Va were having, the heiress approached the group.

"There's no such thing as magic... at least not in my world," Weiss said after hearing Zazy. The heiress was wrong, but only Qrow knew that.

"But yes, we already control all elements including lightning. We call it dust." She showed him a yellow crystal. "Like this one." Even if dust could only be found in Remanant, just like Qrow said, she still felt the need to point it out, just to show how humans weren't as dumb as he thought.

She crossed her arms with pride. "My family's company is the biggest distributor of dust in all of Remnant."

Weiss then showed to him, her iPhone like device, a scroll to the scythe wilder. "You were saying?" The heiress raised an eyebrow at the immortal.

If the coming world was anything like Vale, they might need warmer clothes for the coming trip.
