Twilight Princess story also centered on the Exposition Fairy. And I do not mean Minda was a major character, she was the main character and Link did the fighting.
Twilight Princess has a clear case of Link being The Ishmael. He may be the one under the player's control, but the plot is Midna's.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."It helps that Midna is a really great character. She and Groose are probably the most fleshed-out characters in Zelda history.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?So...has anyone ever made a "The Groose is loose" joke?
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Still waiting for the version of Hyrule Warriors where we can use Groose.
Ditto. Also, Saria and Nabooru.
Speaking of Midna, I've been saying for years that she should get a spin-off game/series, like Tingle did. Call it The Legend of Midna. She has a really striking design that just screams "Protagonist!"
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?She already was the protagonist in Twilight Princess. There's really not much more that can be with done with her without treading old ground.
This song needs more love. You don't play as Midna herself in Twilight Princess.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?She was the protagonist, but not the player character.
Well no but she's still the protagonist. She is the main focus of the plot. Plus, playing as Midna doesn't sound particularly fun, especially considering that Hyrule Warriors had to really reach to give her a moveset (to the point where she was basically Wolf Link).
This song needs more love. Then they can invent something new for her. Luigi didn't have a vacuum before Luigi's Mansion and that game was still great. There's always room to be imaginative, and Midna is a more interesting character than the majority of Nintendo's protagonists.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?But where would the story even go? They pretty decisively ended in TP.
Even if they do come up with something, I'd really rather she not get a spin-off. I can think of several characters who are more deserving of one (namely the freaking title character).
This song needs more love.Midna was the title character.
If they wanted to make her the protagonist of her own game, that could either focus on her rebuilding her kingdom, or more likely she'd get a suspiciously similar descendant with the same name. It's not like that's new to this franchise.
Man, I don't know. The story could go lots of places. I mean, a Super Mario prequel starring Yoshi doesn't sound like a home run on paper either, but Yoshi's Island is still an amazing game. All I'm saying is, Midna is a cool and interesting character (far more so than Link or Zelda, in my opinion), and I'd like to see more of her.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?jesus christ
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaePiggyback is making the guidebook.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."It MUST be almost done. Maybe we'll have a spring release after all. Still wouldn't count on it, though.
The reason for Breath of the Wild supposedly not being a launch title was that localization was taking too long, but all of the marketing suggests that the game is close to release. European localization takes forever because it includes five different versions of the game. I think it's most likely that the Japanese and North American releases will be launch titles, and the European version is what isn't coming until summer.
Fuck region locking seriously, at least give the option to download the game in English during it's worldwide release.
I think that's a natural consequence of the story in Twilight Princess being much more episodic, by design. I wouldn't call it a flaw.
