Defenders of The Omniverse, A Boxed Crook Universe-Hopping Crossover Roleplay

In even shorter terms than the Signup, Defenders of The Omniverse is partially inspired by Freedom Wars & an old Roleplay I was in called Save the Worlds. Thus, a bunch of Boxed Crooks (or not-so-Crooks) working to redeem themselves by assisting other Universes, the "small" jobs DOTO doesn't have time for. In addition, each Player Character is provided a Law Control, a device that's each parts Weapon/Support/Security.

As for the potential Worlds you'll visit, it'll be just about anything, with each World intended to be fun & interesting. Though I won't do Worlds I don't know, I'll also want my Players to make suggestions & state their opinions regarding what Worlds to visit. Finally, one could also explore the "Base" World The Midnight Palace, which'll have plenty of goodie events for one to find.

I could easily start the roleplay right now actually, if everyone would want that. Though ideally I would like for a few more applications first, yet if the first world ends up being Gravity Rush the event I have planned for that really wouldn't be complicated. So... what do you guys think?

Five Players & Seven Characters seems like a good enough start, and writing up the Opening Post will be simple enough. However, the real problem is thus figuring out what the First World & Mission would be. I want everyone to have fun with Defenders of The Omniverse, so I don't want to enforce any specific routes. Yet, I also have some pre-considered plans.

So, I could list the various Intended Worlds I have in mind and what would go down. Ideally I would want to start off with the Gravity Rush Mission, given the relative simplicity of it (slaying a Nevi with invisible cores while Kat is gone). Still, I want you guys to be involved in ultimately deciding where each Mission will take you.

I'm down for Gravity Rush as our first mission. As we get a better feel for the characters, I think the ideas as to where the next missions go will come naturally.

Me too. A nice and simple first mission. I would like to see that list though.

I would like to make a note though that after June 13, I'll only have internet on weekends (and possibly the days when there's break due to holidays and festivals) due to school. Hopefully it won't affect things too much for me.

Hmm... Well, I don't want to reveal too much until I'm certain this'll all work out, so here's a summary for the Gravity Rush mission & one for an inFamous Mission (mentioned because it could serve as a longer Arc if desired).

Gravity Rush: While the city's greatest hero is away, Hekseville is attacked by a powerful Nevi. Though the Special Defense Forces has tried to kill it, again and again it grows back its core- Because there's more than one, the other cores invisible and incomprehensible, ensuring the regeneration of the one attacked.

Infamous Uprising: The Ray Field and Conduits, two unknowns that have been around forever as far as anyone knows. Yet such wonder draws people, for good and ill reasons. In particular, two organizations- The First Sons, a group wishing to unlock humanity's "true potential" and the Defensive United Providence, an organization originally formed by Conduits to moderate their own kind. Following the detonation of a device called the "Ray Sphere" the largest collection of Conduits ever appear, and with it the Conduit Alliance- Supremacists that believe the world belongs to the Conduits now.

I'm also juggling some Worlds I'm not entirely sure I'll do one for, so... Anyone'll be interested in a Skullgirls, Ben 10, RWBY, Generator Rex, or Tales Of Zestiria World (which'll probably involve fighting Dragons)? Other than those, I've got a plan for a Puella Magi Madoka Magica World (facing off against a mysterious Puella that somehow hasn't Witched), a Reaper's Game that is behaving all kinds of wrong, and a Pacific Rim World (which would involve dealing with cloned infant Kaijus honestly).

I also have some other ideas I'm considering, but I'll need to study & review the subjects in question. I'll also want to avoid Out-of-Character behavior, so those are the ensured worlds so far. Though I'll like to do a Neptunia World and Little Witch Academia World at some point, along with a World based on the Arrowverse (though specifically more likely a Flash or Supergirl visit). I also got some Original World plot bunnies, though I'll save those options for later. I'll also be willing to do Alternate Takes on some Worlds (like a Puella Magi Madoka Magica / Steven Universe Fusion Fic), but I also don't want to seem repetitive.

So yeah, with that all considered, I'll start up the roleplay later today- Just need a little time to decide if I should start off with everyone there (since everyone seems to be assuming that), or give everyone a chance to Establish themselves by opening with the DOTO Midnight Palace Branch recruiting them.

How about a Men in Black world? Maybe the MIB hire the crew for a few menial tasks which quickly spire out of control and become a major threat.

And unfortunately I'm not very clear about most of the worlds there. Can we have a little synopsis of the place we're going to catch up people who are behind?

I'll need to figure something out, but a Men In Black World is possible. Regarding Synopsis though... I was trying to avoid Spoilers, so... It'll be a few (as in four at most) updates until you head out to Gravity Rush, so I'll figure something out then. Might make it In-Universe too.

Pacific Rim would amuse me, because Doomguy is apparently capable of taking on kaiju. Full sized kaiju, while on foot, before he got the Praetor Armor.

Anyways of the worlds you're not sure about, I'm down with RWBY, Ben 10 and Generator Rex. And while not say excited for PMMM or Skullgirls or Tales of Zestria or The World Ends With You given the fact that I haven't watched/played them, I wouldn't object to them.

As for the starter world while I haven't played Gravity Rush and basically know nothing about it. I'm fine with it anyways.

Men in Black could be amusing. Though, the MIB probably wouldn't be happy with this group. Subtle isn't in a few of these characters vocabulary. (Mostly talking about Doomguy here, but I'm sure the giant wasp robot, and the living virus that ate half a city lack subtlety as well)

So the roleplay is up and it really should move reasonably quick. Like, one update per day at least, though it all varies depending on what's going on. Which reminds me, what is everyone's time? I'll set up Additional Objectives if there's any significant differences (I'm Indiana USA so, 5:48 PM right now). I'll also like to mention Heroes may be a later World as well, though Original Flavour like inFamous.

Yep, though the Law Controls aren't quite collars- Though you could use it like one, since the thing can move around anyways.

And there you go, my opening post. I decided to give first person a try. Hopefully that was okay. I wasn't so sure how and when she gets her stuff.

@world discussion: Oh, oh! I'd love a visit to Generator Rex, Ben 10, Pacific Rim, Men in Black and Arrowverse! Well, the last one mostly because I like the Supergirl TV show. I know very little about the other worlds (Gravity Rush included) but wouldn't mind them. The one I that catches my interest the most would be the Tales of Zestiria, and only really because of the mention of dragons.

Evidently, I need to work on clarity in my posts. Doomguy's chainsaw is in hammerspace at the moment. His super shotgun is the only visible weapon he has.

Is it okay if Seth recognizes some of the other characters from the popular culture of his version of Earth? Out of the cast we have now, I'm only going to have him know of Zim and Waspinator.

Well sure, PVP isn't really intended and the Law Controls would serve for Balance too, so not really an advantage. However I'm genuinely surprised nobody has really commented on the fact the "White Bands" came with an informative voice, or well... That the "Midnight Palace" looks like it is literally made from the midnight sky. Of course, what with suddenly being whisked away and finding a whole assortment of bizarre individuals... Makes plenty of sense they aren't really focusing on that.

Though, ideally I'll like for everyone to post, but if everyone hasn't by tomorrow morning I've update then- Got to keep things moving along. Oh yeah! I'll also like to mention there'll be Crossover events and whatnot happening somewhere in the Midnight Palace, for example getting a Heartless Boss Battle to defend the World's Keyhole.

Well, Seth is from an alternate Earth and one more technologically advanced, I imagine a lot of what he does know ultimately wouldn't be applicable to the incarnations he actually encounters. So sure, Seth may know about a Waspinator, but eventually he'll realize very little of that is applicable to the one in the cast.

I wouldn't have Seth know everything about Waspinator. What I'm setting up with the thing in my post is that Seth knows Waspinator by name, but only because of his brother's action figure. He doesn't know Waspinator's personality, habit of getting blown up, or anything like that. Based off the timeline for his homeworld, I think Seth would be a couple years too young to have watched Beast Wars when it was actually on.

There'd be a similar thing for Zim. My plan is for Seth to know of the show, but not have watched it. He'll recognize Zim by name, but that's about it.

If either of those are still a problem, I'll drop those plans.

@kkutwar: ... Yeah, sure. But really, it's mostly because I didn't realize that it was a voice and not implanted directly into the brain. Though in hindsight, I realize it was indeed a voice after re'reading the info in the sign up thread. And I have no idea when it would start talking. As for Midnight Palace, I also didn't realize it was made of the midnight sky...so there.
