Well, they have Pokemon already (for too damned long actually, at least in it's current form).
There was a Fire Emblem OVA as well I believe.
But Nintendo only co-owns those. This is talking about Mario, Zelda and...I guess Star Fox maybe. Metroid as well.
Hmmm. Could work. Could fail. We'll have to wait and see.
One Strip! One Strip! Not necessarily what we'd think of as "anime"; this could really be most any kind of animation. And "produce" in this context means that they'd be paying for it and retain creative control, not necessarily that they'd be making it themselves
I would like to see Shaft make a Kid Icarus anime series, tough
Said this in the other thread, might as well say it again: I'm cool with this depending on what they decide to make films or shorts of. I remember watching that Animal Crossing movie awhile back and it was pretty chill, so more of that (dubbed this time) would be neat.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Metroid animated movie, please!
It's time for a successor to those old Mario Bros. animes...been too long.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I'd be all for an anime based off Skyward Sword, Spirit Tracks, or 3D World.
The thing about Zelda and Mario is that there's so much material that they don't necessarily have to make something based off a specific game.
There are lots of gaps between Zelda games, where we don't know what happened (and three timelines worth of material, to say nothing of the stuff Hyrule Warriors brings to the table), and Mario has no real timeline or continuity, so they don't need to follow anything specific there as well.
Done right, this is an opportunity for some really interesting stuff.
One Strip! One Strip!I'd love to see another Kirby anime again, especially if they adapt the other games besides Kirby's adventure, like the Dark Matter Game,s Super Star, and others.
They could find a way to blend those games stories into the Kirby Right Back At Ya setting.
Watch SymphogearMaybe they could be in the vein of the Pikmin animated shorts.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I want Brain Age, The Mysterious Murasame Castle, Style Savvy, Wave Race, and Disaster: Day of Crisis.

F-Zero plz
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI'm not surprised by this at all given how Nintendo's IP are essentially anime (or cartoons) turned into games. Mario could have easily been from a Warner Bros/Disney show while Zelda and Metroid are from a 90s animated show. Pokémon really needs no introduction given nearly 20 years of anime. And Kid Icarus and Splatoon look ripe for future adaptations. I'm just so glad they are doing them in anime format rather live-action. Which by the way, have you notice there aren't many good live-action film adaptations of anime shows or manga to date as well? Seems like there's a connection between that and Video Game Movies Suck.

Anime Adaptations Of Video Games Suck is also a universal rule as well. You have to get into V Ns for them to not absolutely suck.

...Eh, the Escha & Logy adaptation was okay, just low-budget. (And a stupid overall decision - adapting the middle entry of a trilogy.)

I've really like a Zelda or Metroid one.
Especially if we get Bird!Samus. Please give us bird-like Samus.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobSeeing as how "anime" is a generic term for animation in Japan, they may not referring to Japanese-produced stuff.
After all, we never did hear anything else about the Super Mario Bros. movie that Sony Animation was wanting to do after the leaks in 2014...maybe it's still on the table?
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Hmm, out of the Nintendo I Ps, I wouldn't go for Mario Bros. That particular series is a bit too much random stuff happening that makes for a fun journey in a game, but would make very little sense in an anime.
Star Fox and Kid Icarus would be the most obvious ones, having already a completely anime-ready plot and cast.
Zelda and Metroid being a bit trickier but doable. One obstacle would be the silent protagonists of the original. Since everyone has a different version of what Link and Samus are like, any interpretation by an anime would feel "wrong" no matter what they did with it. Another, probably bigger obstacle would be the fact that both series tend to focus on rather lonely journeys with little character interaction outside of the various flavours of Exposition Fairy. That's going to be hard to translate.
(Completely random: my mind went towards a Link x Samus ship for absolutely no reason.)
A new Fire Emblem series would make sense, considering all the attention it's gotten lately, but I'd personally not burn my hands on that particular project. There's just way too many characters to give proper focus to, and the plot of Awakening and Fates are, while serviceable, a bit of a mess.
F-Zero has already been done, with mediocre results, and the franchise seems to be getting the axe as it is, so that's probably not going to happen.
Basically, plenty of potential for both failure and success. But if I were to make a bold suggestion: Make it a Smash Bros. comedy series.

There was a Mario anime some time ago, The Great Mission to Save Princess Peach!.
The Protomen enhanced my life. There were 3 more short Mario Bros. animes...retellings of old stories they were.
Mario isn't too random, simple story, focus on the adventure, environments and odd characters around them like the RPGs...you could really do something with that.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Whoever mentioned Metroid is a genius.
Also since it's popular now thanks to Super Smash Bros, Kid Icarus. How cool would that be?
Earthbound anime?
Mileena MadnessAnother good one.
Star Fox would be amazing, although it might fuel the furry fandom.
@Memers: The SengokuBasara anime was really well done, as was the Neptunia anime, both of which were successful, so I'd say the exceptions eclipse the duds.
I'd love to see a Kid Icarus, Zelda, Star Fox or Fire Emblem anime, as well as an F-Zero movie done in the Redline style, but that's a pipe dream for obvious reasons. Metroid is an obvious choice for a CGI feature.
Well F-Zero did have a cartoon once, although it might not quite count since Captain Falcon wasn't even a character in it.
I'm actually surprised Fire Emblem doesn't already have an anime series.

Looks like Kimishima, Nintendo's current president, likes anime and looks at the disastrous Super Mario Bros movie as a reason to not do live action.
