Yup. i like the pacing of that show and its mixing in of slice of life moments with the action.
Last one I watched was 12, then the subber I was following dropped it and it kinda slipped my mind... How's it going? They confirm if samurai guy was an alien?
Well at the moment it looks like the aliens are actually humans who have had their memories altered and their lives extended by nanomachines. Also Yukihime is Yukina's direct ancestor with identical DNA
From what I remember from my biology lessons, a chance of two non-twin people to have identical genes is infinitesimally small.
That said, the twist about Muetta being actual Yukihime wasn't entirely unexpected. Especially since Muetta (and several other Efidolg knights) has red glow around pupils. In fantasy settings, something like that is often used to indicate that a character is under some form of mind-control.
Okay, that sounds interesting. I should get back on it. Don't know when I can fit into my schedule though. I Hell I should be taking shows off my watchlist.
Kuromukuro is being subbed by 2 people currently, and they have said that they will release a full revised batch at the end of the show's run, so I don't mind waiting.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - Forzarethe current subers do have a tendency to use phrases like "You're going to send the kuromukuro (black relic)?" though, where they only translate a Japanese term in brackets behind it. Which is slightly annoying to read. To be fair, they do also release updates of their translations to correct some of the worst impulses.
Well as this most recent episode of 91 Days Angelo proves himself to yet again be a crazy manipulator. He managed to get three people killed. Frate is dead and didn't have a chance to live anyway as his gun had no bullets. That asshole with the red hair is dead, killed by his wife no less whom Angelo snuck a gun too. And Angelo killed one of Nero's men himself.
Kind of felt bad for Frate really. It seems like he suffered from serious depression judging by what I saw in that episode and the asshole with the red hair just took advantage of that.

Oh my, the brown substance has definitely hit the ventilation device in the Kuromukuro. GAUS-3 is turned into a scrap metal halfway through the battle, Sebastian self-destructs GAUS-2 in attempt to take out Mirasa, and GAUS-1 is barely operational. And while a great number of headless was taken down, none of the piloted Efidolg geoframes is clearly destroyed.
Meanwhile, Time Travel Shoujo: Mari Waka to 8-nin no Kagakusha-tachi turns to have a stable time loop. And, apparently, it was Shun who developed the time machine... 50 years into the future
Speaking of Time Travel Shoujo, the male characters — apart from the historic figures that is — are all somewhat on the scummy side, from Shun who keeps important information from Waka & Mari, Mari's dad who disappears for years at a time without good reason and the villian is just a creep.
That is extremely normal for a shojo series. And while its not technically one, the entire staff is pretty much made up of people who work on shojo from the writers on down.

To be fair, Mari's dad might not have had a choice in the matter.
Tribute to the Threadless
- DAYS: Has shown little of the character development and competitive intensity that characterize the best sports series. There are good ways of writing underdog stories, and this is not one of those. Will be dropping it at the end of this cour if it does not improve significantly.
- Tales of Zestiria: I end up skimming the non-action segments, and it's still perfectly understandable.
- Saiki Kusuo no Nan: Same old Saiki. Though there was one interesting skit where he finds a way to turn off his telekinesis, and he's torn between using it to enjoy a normal day at the movies, and not using it because he's not used to not knowing what people are thinking.
- orange: The girl is laughably dense, and the guy is still probably thinking about suicide so they're awkward as hell. At least Kakeru got jealous when Nao was treating Suwa. Looking good, indeed.
- Time Travel Shoujo: It's nice that the show is also paying attention to the personal struggles of the great minds of the past, and tying it into core cast's own dilemmas, all while being top-notch edutainment. Mikage's plans are also about to really heat things up.
- Qualidea Code: The animation gets worse the better the story gets. Episode 9 reveals that the alien threat the protagonists have been fighting are actually humans, and the Administration they're working for are the real enemies. Could have been written better, but a far cry from the relatively more generic tripe the first few episodes were. Helps that the focus shited from the air force to the more interesting knight and sibling duos.
- Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!:Consistently enjoyable and proof of how good animation and direction can elevate a simple story.
Time Travel Shoujou is over and...
1. The book was (re)created in the future and someone (Mari herself?) sent it back in time.
2. In the future there will be people with pink and teal as natural hair color.
3. Yay! Holographic displays!

I know a lot of people don't care about it, but, um, you might want to spoiler that.
I don't think that future's hair color diversity deserves a spoiler. Seriously, though, it was pretty clear that the book is not from the in-universe's present from the very first use. And, at this point, the fact that it is from the future has also been revealed quite a while ago. Though, yeah, perhaps, the destruction of the book does deserve a spoiler.
P.S. Herz's episode deserves a honorable mention on the Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming.
P.P.S. Am I the only one who thought of Hyperdimension Neptunia when Mari's granddaughter showed up?

The Japanese Animation DVD Rankings for 19th to 25th September are out and the highest ranked DVD for an anime that started this season is... Qualidea Code.
While basic the series did improve as it went on and, while I didn't think it was the best series of the season, I thought it was quite entertaining overall and had some great music.
Seriously, Qualidea Code? It was probably the worst series I've seen this season. I'm feeling so out of touch right now.
I knew it! This is why the animation in Qualidea Code progressively deteriorated; it was to make the viewers buy the DVDs so they can see the plot and characters get the animation they deserve!

It wasn't that bad once it got going and Hime was cool. Ange Vierge was probably my least favourite series of the season, it just did the same thing over and over again.

Eh Servamp just got worse and worse that I just up and quit it at the 4th episode. I know it was a shoujo but you think that their at the very least would be some decent action (the action would literally pan off-screen if it ever happened) and less cringeworthy fanservice moments. Kind of sad really. I liked the concept. What also didn't help was that the main protagonist was a fucking bore to watch. Generic beyond belief. Who in the hell decides to get a broom as a weapon in a world were vampires with supernatural powers exist?
The only anime I have watched fully this season is D.Gray Man Hallow and 91 Days. Mob Psycho just isn't my cup of tea and I was kind of disappointed in Taboo Tattoo and Qualidea Code
Perhaps I should watch more of Active Raid....

Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothBut the ranking on that page says First Love Monster is Rank 14 while Qualidea Code is Rank 15. Or are you going by some other list?

If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromPersonal list:
Sunshine: Quite liked this. Did take a bit more than I than I would have preferred from the original, but it also learned from it, and was a rather more solid show. Pity about the last episode, though
Qualidea: Did turn out more interesting than it initially appeared (I'm certain there's people here that'd term it a deconstruction), but isn't great even at it's heights. Particular issues being that Hime should probably have been the focus character throughout (she's by far the most likable and interesting) and the ending was spectacularly contrived. Also, no budget
Macross: Competent enough to be watchable but flawed enough not to be worth the bother. Some striking plotting issues
Zestiria: I got bored with it by the end. Also, dissonance; between the character designs and everything else, and between the generic shounen protagonist and the bleak, depressing setting
Is anyone else still watching Kuromukuro, it may be a mecha show with less of a focus on the mecha but it is definitely turning out to have an interesting story.
