Suggestion: Warm Hearted Walrus

So, a while ago, I launched Wily Walrus, a trope about evil walruses, and started an IP thread for it that successfully found a good image for the page. Now I've made this trope, which is about good walruses, and I'm starting an IP thread for it, in hopes of getting the same result.

Here are some suggestions to start with:

• Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog: [1] [2]
• Animal Crossing: [3]◊
• The Little Mermaid II Return To The Sea: [4]◊ [5]◊

Personally, I like 1.1 the best, but what do you think? Choosing images was hard because there aren't a lot of examples on the page right now, so it would be great if you could think of any I missed.

The odd-numbered ones look good. Hard to narrow it down further.

I'd go with 1.1, which has good quality and the most focus on the trope. 1.2 looks more grainy than the former, 1.3 has some quality issues because of old age, I don't think the friendliness is obvious enough in 1.4, and 1.5 has other distracting elements.

Any ideas for a caption?

Your first one is the same as one of the ones I suggested, which we already decided against. Your second one has not been suggested yet, but I'm not sure about it. Like the first one, the emphasis isn't really on the walrus.

1.1 = 1.5 > the others.

Actually, now I have my concerns about 1.1. I've been trying to track down where it came from, and if this is any indication, it's actually fanart. Are we still allowed to use it?

Any ideas for a caption? For Wily Walrus, I used a line from The Beatles' "I Am the Walrus". Maybe we could look there again?

I've got it! In the comics, each book introduces each character with a short description. See here, where he is described as "Rotor the Walrus: Freedom Fighter. Battle Mechanic." Maybe Rotor's description in that picture would be a good caption?

And if not, we could look for other descriptions the comics have given him.

I can't speak for everyone, but it looks like 13.2 is the best choice.

Agreed. 13.2 is good. Not sure on a caption. Maybe something silly like, "Definitely nicer than the Eggman"
