She had a "human" face and elf ears, instead of the "cat" ears Galrans tend to have. Presumably, Alteans are the only species besides humans that look, well, human.
Though kinda related, whatever happened to Altean shapeshifting? The Space Mall episode seems like it would've at least been a good place to play it for laughs.
You know how Avatar had at least several episodes showing how the Fire Nation averted Always Chaotic Evil?
Space Mall was that for the Galra.
Also Still not over Zarkon wanting his lion all season only to have the Gundam Epyon in his garage. Next Lotor will want Voltron only to reveal he has Gunbuster ready to go.
I guess that makes sense, I did notice the ears the second time around watching that scene but couldn't remember if all Galrans had a certain look to them in the ear department. Same thing with the face.
EW did an interesting spoiler interview of season 2. Kinda some some cool insight in it. http://ew.com/tv/2017/01/20/voltron-legendary-defender-season-2-postmortem/
1. Zarkon's mecha was still being tested.
2. We don't know Voltrons full capabilities. Zarkon does.
It's also obvious the Haggar's an Altean since everyone who can use magic has been Altean or in the case of Zarkon infused with magic by Druids. It's why the Druids are Alteans theory is a thing.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I sort of remember Zarkon's eears being pointy and elfish.
I could've sworn we never saw him without the helmet?
Also, figuring Lotor is either getting a massive redesign, or is half-Altean in this version.
It was also that Haggar has brown skin when she's fighting Alurra. She's been faking the purple skin the whole time.
That said, there's like three kinds of Galra. The cat-ear ones, the fin-ear ones and then Zarkon who got some sort of scales/exoskeleton going for him. So the fact that Haggar's face looked like it did in Season 1 just seemed like more of the same.
So, knowing that there are Alteans that have sided with the Galra...
Are we sure that the Galra soldier that Keith and Hunk met in the Weblum is actually a Galra soldier?
I mean, we all suspect the soldier is a girl, but since we never saw said soldier's face, we can't be totally sure the person behind that mask is actually Galra.
Not after Haggar.

One Strip! One Strip!Started watching this. I'm only one episode in but Pidge is my favorite of the cast so far.
you have good taste, Pidge is my favorite too.
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersPidge is hands down the best character.
A shame in season 2, their grappling hook kinda becomes a joke weapon that gets them dragged around or tossed into things whenever they attempt to fight.
Pidge is definitely my fave in the first half of the show. A little more flat in the second half though, but cute as a button. Shiro is probably my favorite overall, he's consistently the most interesting and likeable male character. So as of the most recent batch I'd say the two are about tied.

Oh yeah, that reminds me, I was kinda annoyed how rushed her connection with her Lion was. She's knocked out of the fight for like, five minutes, the local population knows exactly how to power her up, and then she gets probably the single most useful super weapon of any of the Lions. Though I guess that's better than Lance having his character development episode long after his Lion gets an upgrade.
Hmm, that is kinda lame in retrospect, Shiro and Keith get character arcs, while everyone else gets a character episode.
I have a bit of a question of something that confused me. What was the reason for teleporting Zarkon's ship to somewhere else in space? I mean it was cool as heck, but I don't understand why doing so would help the Paladins beat the emperor.
I dunno why I didn't see that coming, but I'm entertained nonetheless. That was pretty good.
I think it was so that they didn't have to deal with the rest of the fleet?
Oh God! Natural light! That's my guess, and it makes sense. But if that's the case why wasn't it mentioned when they first go over the plan. In fact they never actually state the reason why they were going to teleport the ship iirc, which is kinda weird.
So what are the odds that Haggar is someone that Allura and/or Coran knows personally? You know, since The Main Characters Do Everything. Granted, Allura just noticed that she was Altean, she wasn't like, "It's you!" But Coran on the other hand...They do have similar roles on their respective sides. They're both the advisors. Maybe they met at Advisor Con or something
I dunno about personally, but it's possible either one of them could've met Haggar before when she was a regular Altean, or at least might have been acquaintances, whether big or small. But who knows really. I'll bet the king knew her at least.
If the king knew her, certainly Coran would too. Unless the king was keeping secrets, for some reason...
I thought that Haggar could be Allura's mother, but I figure she would've shown more recognition if that was the case.
Yeah, there would have been some knee jerk reaction far more intense than the one we saw. Unless she looks really different for some reason? Could be the quintessence.
Soooooo
Did Shiro achieve a 400% synchronization ratio and merge with the Black Lion?
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
He does, but the eyes really threw me off, and it isn't impossible that there could be similar looking aliens to Galrans. I mean the Alteans look like Earthling after all.
Speaking of Alteans, what made Allura realize that Haggar was one?
