Have a hug and don't be scared. What plots would you like to see?

[up] Ah! Great subject, bookworm! Everyone, let's follow their idea of a subject. grin

What plots I'd want to see?

Well, I personally would like to see how did Swamp Thing get himself into a fistfight with Solomon Grundy of all people, and whether or not John Constantine has something to do with it...evil grin

I wonder what it would look like tor Batman and Superman to deconstruct the possibility of a fight between the two? Something about how if they were in their right minds, it would be a jerk move for them to fight in the first place?

The comics always gave Bats and Supes an interesting friendship. I like how they're described in the Vitriolic Best Buds page. Either they're practically brothers, or they have limited trust towards each other.

But if I let myself be optimistic that this show won't get cancelled, and then it does get cancelled, I'll be devastated. I don't know if I can withstand another heartbreak like that... *strokes Spectacular Spider-Man lovingly*

[up][up]If this show is gonna be more lighthearted, I'd love to see a Reality Ensues Curbstomp Battle where Superman strips Batman of all dignity, but in, y'know, a playfully teasing kinda way.

[up][up] Like if Clark just picked Bruce up, flew to the Bat Cave, and told Alfred that Bruce was trying to pick a fight? And then Batman contacts Ma Kent to tell on Clark, but Martha just chews him out for picking on her boy. Then Bruce feels bad. And then, Clark apologizes for Bruce feeling bad, which just leaves Bruce annoyed. Batman then goes to defeat some villains and let off steam.

Am I really the only one here who believes that the more we talk about the possibility it'll get axed very quickly, the more likely it WILL happen? Because we have to quit the cynicism.

What. The.

Sorry, but this is pure magical thinking. Because of course all CN executives are monitoring this thread (they really don't seem to even care about what people like us think or not, one way or the other) and will act according to it.

You want me to leave the thread, fine, but I'm not going to paint a rosy portrait I don't think true ignoring mounting concrete (or at least as concrete as these things can get) evidence (and regarding your question about why they'd have okayed the show in the first place, the same could have been asked about whay did they okay all the prior shows they torpedoed) and become a liar betraying my own moral code just to satisfy someone's irrational set of fears (which doesn't mean that person themself is irrational— arguably, we have all had irrational positions and preconceptions of our own, as that's also part of human nature). But please don't insult me (although I'm sure that never was your intent) asking me to do something that would go against my conscience and principles only to comply with a mindset I honestly think you should get over with, for your own good, for I truly would prefer leaving altogether than doing that.

If it makes you feel better, then I prefer being an objector of conscience and biting my tongue to leave you to your own devices (for all the good that'll do) altogether than contributing to a 'sanitized' debate that only allows for a viewpoint that doesn't result into an imaginary result through a cause-effect relation that can't possibly exist in the first place. That isn't even a discussion, that'd be a sham.

All the same, keep in mind I hold no ill will against you at all, and if taking that position makes you feel better, I'm glad for you, but I just can't partake on it personally.

...

Okay, I guess the act of wishing that we'd stop talking about the ways that CN could screw this show over is, in a sense, pretty selfish of me.

You got your views and I need to respect them, regardless of how paranoid they get me. Sorry about that. Although you were right, I wasn't trying to insult you by any stretch of the imagination.

Sorry, but this is pure magical thinking.

Actually, in my defense, I was talking more about the law of attraction, but the point still stands, I need to respect your views on things.

Don't feel bad. I actually think I should try steering clear of this topic anyway, since your emotional wellbeing, or any other poster's, is more important than my desire to lash out at will.

On the whole discussion people are having as to whether or not CN will treat this show well: I wouldn't call them cynics, but rather realist.

Clearly they want the show to succeed as they want to know what time it will air and really want Cartoon Network to air more action shows. But sadly, like previous DC shows, the network is making the same mistakes by not promoting it via promos and commercials (seriously I have yet to see an ad for it on CN You Tube channel) and not posting when it will air for viewers who are interested in it to know. Those are warning signs that the network is probably not going to give a shit about it even though not only mainstream audience enjoy DC shows (see the Arrowverse) but also the fact it is a good way to capitalize on the new Justice League movie much in the same way as Avengers: Earth's Mightiest He- wow, with that comparison I am justifying that the show will not last long but at least it will be awesome from beginning to end.

But who knows, maybe due to a large spike in viewership and overly positive reception this will lead to Cartoon Network to realize shows like these are best for buisiness and promote the shit out of JLA and greenlit more action shows. Hell, maybe it can bring back the afternoon showing of Toonami which will be dedicated for the more kid friendly action cartoons and animes. But honestly, that's a bit too optimistic of a call on my part.

Eh, DC is owned by WB. They'll be around for a few more decades I bet. And they will *always* find ways to sell their IPs to kids (and other interested groups); so cartoons will be around in one form or another even if JLAction gets cancelled. I just hope they are good.

As for what I want for the show, I really hope it is like The Brave & The Bold- at least in its Opening Segments. I really liked the Silver Age-like vibe in that show- fun but not silly. Oh and lots of hero (and villain!) team-ups.

[up][up]It's not impossible, I don't see why they wouldn't want to if they got the chance. But then again there are a lot of different villain groups in DC.

If the show continues on. I'm sure this series will get canned long before they end Teen titans go. Heck they even gave the new PPG a toyline, so I can see who they favor more between the whole line up. Sorry for being pessimistic.

[up] I don't mind. At this point we have a better chance of Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventures airing on Toonami then this show lasting long.

. . . Wait that's not pessimistic enough since the former just happened.

[up] I'm pretty sure [up][up] is talking about how there's this anime called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure which Toonami fans have been wanting to see on the block for ages ever since [adult swim] brought it back.

I guess at some point, people were thinking that Toonami showing JoJo was never happening, but a while ago, the Toonami crew surprised everyone by saying JoJo would premiere in early October, which was last night.

Actually, it's funny he mentioned JoJo because Patrick Seitz is going to appear in Justice League Action and he's playing the Big Bad, DIO, in JoJo.
