Not sure if this should go here or in the short/long-term project forums, apologies.

What's the general rule of thumb about the use of Trivia tropes that are acknowledged In-Universe?

Kaiju Defense Force was just removed from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Ghost in the Shell: Arise pages. I've always understood that trivia tropes are just that— Trivia. They're suppose to tell you about actors and historical figures and events. Not A Trope and all that.

In this case though, the Japanese Self Defense Force plays a pretty heavy involvement in numerous characters' backstories in both anime series. It's not as if removing these entries from the pages critically affects the work page, but the entry itself is still pretty informative. Is there a work-around that I can use to keep the information on the page? I know that some trivia tropes have In-Universe equivalents, such as Money, Dear Boy and Only in It for the Money.

If a Trivia trope is being used In-Universe, place it on the main tab while noting the fact it's In-Universe.

I've seen that used in the past, but it didn't fly with certain editors. I just wanted to be sure.

For starters, KDF isn't a Trivia trope, it's a Useful Notes page. UN pages are never to be used as trope list entries by themselves.
