Musaigen no Phantom World

Episode 2 was another fun one. The drones the first Phantom used were cool and it is good to see that the main characters can be quite competent at times. The second Phantom fight was more amusing than anything with the demon puppy being cute. The new girl has an interesting power and reminds me a little of Iozumi from the manga Toraneko Folklore. Looks like the plot of the series may be kicking off soon so it will be interesting to see where the series goes.

Darn, it came out already? Better get to watch it, because that's how I miss a whole show. XD

I love how Haruhiko wasn't actually going to go into the room, until they told him to only to get booted out of the window for his trouble. Good stuff.

Ok, second episode was definitely entertaining and there sure was lots of exposition. Lawts of it.

And Mai sure is....flexible.

Episode 2:

- Man, Haruhiko's parents must be goddamn rich. Like, American Express Centurion card owning rich.

- Minase's battlesound is almost as annoying as that of Electro in Amazing Spider-Man 2.

- Jesus Christ, Ruru, shut the fuck up. You are raising my PSYCHO-PASS level.

- First half was decent. The second half...-sighs- Look, I've seen enough Akamatsu type bullshit, I'm sick of these kinds of accidental perversion slapstick.

- I love the soundtrack that plays whenever Main does something serious.

- Of course nobody knows what lies in your future, there's no indication of where this story will go.

- By the way, who here noticed that Mai had a spot on her left thigh?

And then the same thing happened again. I think the joke worked because they kept throwing him out of the window.

Yeah, she is.◊

Well, housing in Japan is dirt cheap, I bet a high schooler could afford a house like that from a part time job.

At least the tone of her voice changes while using it.

I'm sorry but Rururaruri Rurararirararururirirari Rirararururararururararirari is hilarious.

Mai doing her thing is the best part of the episode. She's awesome.

I did, since I paid close attention to, uh... stuff.◊ Somebody should kiss her on it.

I actually thought it was a speck on my screen and tried to wipe it off.

I really need a name for this particular soundtrack. I wish at least that one gets released.

Yeah, that's a really nice track there. And the animation is so smooth.◊

I feel like I am not going to like Ruru before this season is over.

She's hitting all of the red flags for "annoying sidekick"

Unlike other girls, she doesn't contribute anything.

Eh, she's been the most entertaining thing by far, for me.

Yeah, I like Ruru. Ruru's a simple girl/phantom, I appreciate that.

Ruru's addition is also admittedly a creative way of getting around an internal monologue.

Well, I'm not denying that.

Considering the utterly pointless and clumsy way every episode begins, I kinda doubt that it was their intention.

I swear, if that speck get's a fanclub like Kyon's did Kyo Ani's doing something right.

Reina didn't know if she had healing power or not, so what was going through her head when she sucked Haruhiko's finger?

She definitely seems to be the nicest girl on the show (her freaking out and throwing Haruhiko notwithstanding; and even then, at least she genuinely apologizes).

Also, I doubt that anybody cares, but I found the part with her and Haruhiko in the opening to be quite cute for some reason.

A Japanese thing, a suck on like a minor wound on the finger and it stops the bleeding or something.

It happens in MANY shows, always to the embarrassment of the suckee.

I've actually seen it done plenty of times in anime and manga before.

What I'm saying is, I've always assume one would have to pretty comfortable with and/or close to the other. So Reina doing that for Haruhiko surprised me.

Was my assumption way off the mark?

I think it was just another example of Reina being pretty ditzy and weird.

Yeah, I guess that's a fairly valid explanation, though if that was case, I wish the show would've been a little clearer about it.

I thought it was Reina being a sweetie. And then subconsciously unlocking another superpower.

Ignoring the fanservice of it, isn't it a bit disgusting to suck someone else's blood directly from their wound.

Pro-tip: Never do this in South Africa.

Interestingly enough, one of the criticisms I've read about the second episode (in other places) was how Koito's parole was not only unnecessarily long, but it didn't match up with her power at all. Well, that, and the transition between the parole and the actual power was so abrupt.
