The film is out and according to rotten tomatoes, this is worse than fan4stic

Should that honestly surprise anyone?

According to the Wikipedia page, the film is an ADULT film.

I really hope that's just Wikipedia being Wikipedia, because no adult is going to want to sit through this dreck.

All right. So. Saw this movie the day it came out. My expectations were beneath the ground. Beneath it. Thankfully, the movie is not as bad as Rotten Tomatoes makes it out to be.

It's still a giant pile of shit though. It's just not a gargantuan pile of shit, if you catch my drift. A lot of people are complaining about the animation but I was fine with it. I was even fine with Rob Schneider voicing Norm. Norm himself was actually kinda likable. And Socrates, who was voiced by Bill Nighy. This movie has a few good traits to it, and I must stress few heavily, because there aren't many.

Nothing else is good about this movie. The damn trailers they showed for other animated movies coming out this year were better than this. I was hoping this would be a movie that was hysterically awful. Sadly, it wasn't. The only good to come out of this movie is that people and critics can enjoy talking about how shitty it is and trying to find something they liked about it.

Also yes, there were kids in the theater I went to. None of them laughed. This movie is not amusing to ANY kind of movie-goer.

I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.

wild mass guess Norm's home is in the North, but reviewers in the East and the West say the quality of his movie is in the South. wild mass guess

That's not exactly a reasonable call for people to drastically alter their expectations for the movie lmao.

I feel like 0% might be a bit much. It can't be that terrible. Right?

...How did this make it to theaters? This has "direct-to-DVD" written all over it.

This song needs more love.

It doesn't have to be terrible. It just has to be bad enough to lack anything that would give anyone any reason to like it at all..

I guess that one positive review the film had at first (it's RT rating stood at 3% an hour ago as a result) wasn't considered positive enough by the site staff. :v

Wait? this film is in theaters now? Seems more like a direct to DVD type thing.

It was going to be direct to DVD, but then they decided to make it theatrical for...reasons that will never be understood.

The fact that this made more money than Shaun the sheep makes me depressed that I've lost hope for American's taste in 'entertainment'.

Thankfully (as far as I know) it hasn't made its budget back yet, which is a requirement for a film to be a success.

Hopefully, all the people will hear the negative reviews and how even children were bored by it, and that'll prevent the film from making too much more money.

That won't stop it from making a Direct-to-video "Norm of the North 2".

Which might end up becoming theatrical like what happened with the first one.

I was going to say that I felt bad for not knowing this movie actually existed until today, but now I'm wondering if I should even have found out that it did.

Wow...you don't see movies get a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes very often. This is something else...

My biggest fear is that this movie will somehow outgross Kung Fu Panda 3. Very unlikely judging by early box-office reports, but I wouldn't rule out Norm causing a small-blow to Panda in some way.

As an aside, who else felt that the title would've been more appropriate if Norm Macdonald voiced the titular character?

[up][up][up][up]Well, they did give Space Chimps a sequel.

[up]If Norm was voicing the Polar bear in this, it'd probably be a little better. He was the only good thing in Vampire Dog.

Having Rob S. Voice any character is a big "stay away!" For me.
