Sure having Thomas play the political game is one thing, but he went full on super villain apparently.
Also who the heck is the big blue guy? Is he a comic character?

Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherA re-imagine of a villain named Blockbuster.
Also, was it just me or did Falcone come across as less of a bad guy this time around? He seemed to have legitimate care for Bruce and his family. It was rather surprising.
That's how he was with Bruce in Episode 1 as well. It was just not as easy to notice since we're used to see him as a criminal and he grows hostile when Bruce is rude to him. The rest of the time he was opposing Batman.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Yeah, I only noticed that in hindsight.
I'm really enjoying this game. The tone is a little too much, I'd actually prefer a T or even E-10 rated Batman game. I like this isn't Nolan's grimdark Batman as a growlly swat officer thing, but I don't need it to be Adam West either. I'd prefer something like BTAS, and I am disappointed we aren't gonna get to play a Robin or Batgirl. But I really liked the first episode, just wish it was level and more you could explore the city.
The good stuff is really good the Batmobile isn't the ugly tank, Vikki Vale is fun, Alfred is naggy but good, and Catwoman and Bruce's banter is cool. Like the Ark with Bruce's parents. Only finished episode 1 but I know the deal with Harvey.
I'm really loving this story. Telltale are really putting their mark on the mythology. The Waynes having Adaptational Villainy is a huge twist and really adds more to their characters and this version of Bruce. Also, this is already one of my favorite interpretations of Penguin - he's charismatic, threatening, and tragic. It's going to be great seeing how the choices and mysteries unfold further. I saved Harvey - he's Bruce's best friend and Gotham's best hope. On that note, his talk over the phone with Bruce and his speech at the debate were poignant.

It's kind of interesting having a Penguin that is so visually different from normal but still pretty recognizable as the same character.
Does he look like the Gotham version of himself? I don't watch it.
It's been 3000 years…Telltale Penguin looks nothing like Fox!Penguin.
As for the tone, I find myself enjoying the level of violence and gore in these fights.
One thing I'm not sure of though is the telltale choices. It seems like your choices don't matter as much as they should, even if I have Batman just hit the barrel and apply pressure to his arm I still get told off by Alfred for "sending a criminal to the hospital." Yeah, he was probably already hurt and hanging him upside down can't have been good, but I doubt I did too much damage.
I've heard that it is common in Tell Tale games though. I hope the next episodes are a bit better about it.
Oh, that's a very common Telltale game flaw.
For most choice based games, actually, aside from perhaps smaller indie titles. See Bioware.
IMO, choice-based games are best when you look at your choices as a reflection of what you would do, rather than looking for consequences. What happens is less important than why you did it.

Pretty sure the Son of Arkham is just Penguin and that was a pre-recorded message.
Boy do people like cuckolding Harvey and then letting his face get smashed in.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I'm pretty sure that they show them together in the "Next Time" trailer.
Oh God! Natural light! They do not. They show the Son of Arkham, and play a snippet of Son of Arkham dialogue, and a snippet of Penguin dialogue, but there's nothing to indicate they are even part of the same conversation.
Well, I guess I was wrong there.
Still, that'd be a very anti-climatic reveal. Why would they do that?
Oh God! Natural light!I hope that isn't the case, this is the first Telltale game since the Walking Dead's first season that I've really been into.
Here's a small clip of the next episode. It comes out October 25th.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I'm of two minds about Joker possibly being a major part of the plot. On the one hand, I'm also a little tired of the story always being about Joker and hope for some use of other characters and parts of the mythos. But on the other hand putting Joker in a story like this is a no-brainer, and it's not Telltale's fault the previous Batman video game series kept throwing Joker in as big bad far beyond the point where they should have.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The noises of his flesh, eugh...
Well, Two-Face is going to be fun.
It's been 3000 years…Why hello there, Lee.
Are there any Batman villains known to fight with a staff?
Given how flexible the Batman mythos have become over the decades, that hardly matters.
Is Two-Face going to be there regardless of whether you save him or not?
It's been 3000 years…
I think it's a good plot point to hook the game with and one of the most interesting things about this take on Batman.
