Let's see.... the makers of Bayonetta is making a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.

When I saw this, on the main video games threads page, I was like, "wait, what?"

Part of me thought it was like that Western Animation thread for a Doctor Strange animated series, which turned out to just be for speculation.

But this? It's actually real?

Well, shoot.

Also, about that M rating, pretty sure that's what they're rating it over in Australia. Given how M in Australia is for people 15 and over, I think it's fair to say it'll be a T rating once the ESRB gets a hold of it.

But still, holy crap.

EDIT: and it looks like you found out about the whole "Australia's M is ESRB's T" thing. Never mind.

The full title is "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles: Mutants In Manhattan", if the mod wants to edit the title, though I don't think they need to. TMNT + Platinum is enough :p

Of course that'd be good.

The very first good TMNT game was a brawler.

The thing that gives me pause is that it's also for PS 3 and Xbox360.

Well, they did Legend of Korra, it'd make sense they'd do Nick's other actiony series.

That makes me hope they base the designs from the 2012 series.

And then you find out it's a side scrolling arcade style beat'em up.

That makes me hope it ends up playing like Castle Crashers.

I say, worst-case scenario is that it's like Korra; a side-project with limited budget and content, but with a solid core of combat gameplay.

It'll be fun even if it's a Korra, but I'll hope for more stuff.

Dude. Heightened ninja senses as a Witch Time analogue. That'd be boss.

"Ninja Time."

Which could also serve as a nod to the 2003 series since their catchphrase was "It's Ninja Time!" in the later seasons IIRC.

I think Platinum will make a kickass game regardless of genre or scale. I'm just hoping for TMNT Bayonetta style, that's all. They mesh so perfectly.

So wait, first Korra, then Transformers, now TMNT? What next, Thundercats?

Seriously, has Platinum went to making licensed games? Thats... Interesting xD

They need to fund their Magnum Opuses / Acclaimed Flops / Console Exclusives. Can't blame them for doing this but there is at least No Problem With Licensed Games with this dev. In Platinum we trust!

well, this is an interesting development.

Just yesterday I asked my friend what Western Animation title Platinum will cover next and now this gets revealed.

Well, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Bravestarr... all are Filmmation...

Or maybe they've been hired to save properties being ruined by Michael Bay...

Michael Bay hadn't "ruined" Legend of Korra yet!

Achievements revealed.

Platinum Games should just work with Cyber Connect 2 and do the gameplay while Cyber Connect 2 does the graphics, cinematics and visuals if Platinum ever goes after Anime alongside their western series Licensed projects.

It would be epic.
