The image on the page is of San Giorgio Maggiore, one of the Venetian islands, rather than Venice itself.

As for an replacement: How about something like this◊? The city of Atlantis, from Stargate Atlantis.

That certainly gets the "artificial" bit of the trope across clearly.

I could mention that I don't see it as strictly necessary to swap, since they're not really duplicates, but images of the same city. They also emphasise different aspects, which suit the tropes well.

There is that, but I think personally think the Under the Dome image is more fitting for Domed Hometown.

I don't oppose that move, but I want to reiterate that the DH image wouldn't have to change. It's not a duplicate image, it would just be a similar one. (And in a lot of ways, it's not even that similar.)

What shall we do here? Suggestion in 1 has 6 votes going for it to replace current at City on the Water and there are two competitors (8 and 12) for Domed Hometown.

Well, I'd suggest dealing with City on the Water first, and then work out whether the image on Domed Hometown really needs to be changed.

First, let's agree to replace the City on the Water pic and if we want a caption. I approve of the suggestion, BTW. Then when that's decided, let's just rename the thread to Domed Hometown and decide on how to handle that from there.

For that, I support Galifrey (8). The dome in Under the Dome looks smaller than the town itself.
