Inside the restaurant

Garrett signaled to Gon that it's safe to enter, then he approached the civilians near the radio. "Any major news?," he asked them. "Other than the hubbub at the grocery store? I mean, one of these plaques at the library warns that we're going to get caught up in some kind of a 'greater conflict' before the day's over."

Eun (Airlock) - Let's Get Serious

While the young undead girl tried to allow us to open the airlock by pulling up the whole shelf blocking the entrance, I took a short time to inspect the firearm I had been given. According to the man who had handed it over, it was meant to be a non-lethal weapon, and so we did not have to worry about killing anyone with our shots. In a way, it worked like the firearm of the young Seiker boy, but on a much smaller scale.

I put it away almost immediately. It could possibly be useful in the future, but I had no interest in using it at the moment.

I took a quick look at those around me. Most of them seemed to be ready for a battle, and so was I. The youngest of the group, a human boy, screamed in complete silence, so I simply rested my free hand on top of his helmet in an attempt to get him to calm down and prepare for what was to come. At no point did I stop watching the scene in front of me; there was simply no time to waste on distractions, not when the airlock could be opened at any moment.

So I simply watched and waited.

Space ship - Plan shot down

Unfortunately, the Ruckus leader a much faster reaction time than they had predicted and not even being thrown against the wall stopped him much. And with how much he was moving around, trying to follow him with the chains would be impractical.

As he pulled out his weapon and started to fire, she quickly changed tactics and put up a barrier in order to protect them. She made it large enough to cover Sans as well, since while depending on the type of ammo that was being used, she could end up a lot of damage from a few shots, he could not afford to take even one.

Even with the defense up, she was still worried. If the weapon in question was mass-based, then even this could not be enough to protect them completely.

It was much to her surprise that when several shots hit the barrier, they blew up in small explosions instead of just attempting to pierce through. Three of the blast had been aimed closely together and blew up in a cluster in what seemed to have been aimed at her chest. The other one was further apart and looked like it was aimed at Fried instead.

Because of the explosions going off close to each other on the same general area, the barrier took quite a bit of damage, but didn't quite shatter yet. A few more well-placed rounds would probably do it though. She did the best she could to hold it together, hoping Sans would be able to do something to prevent any more firing.

Eve|Shuttle

Well, that was sudden. They definitely weren't Ruckus. Nodding and mouthing thanks to both heads of the ogre and the man, Eve looked around the shuttle. A creature she couldn't recognise was doing something at the controls. She knew that she would need an atmosphere in order to talk to them, since her glorified charades had failed.

Creating the hair rope, she moved towards the controls, stopping there and once more gesturing waving her arms about in a big circle, then pointing to her throat and putting her arms into a cross shape. While she was doing this, her hair connected to the ship controls, underneath the console, in hopes of managing to get some air inside the ship.

Space Ship - it's never easy

It turned out that guy was really good at adapting, much to Sans' surprise he dealt with having gravity changed like it was nothing and he started firing at Caro and Fried, who thankfully had enough time to react to it.

Sans then tried grabbing Yael's soul again to make him float not-so-helplessly in the air to make it easier for Caro to bind him, all the while being careful to see if he would try firing in his direction

"stay still," Sans said, his tone being noticeably darker than before, "c'mon, caro, this time it'll work," he told the girl, hoping she would act quick enough to trap him before he could fire more shots at them.

Scrapyard - Space Van

X examined over the shuttle and brought himself over to the control center, the good news was, the shuttle was usable... once they got power and propulsion, this thing thankfully could be fixed.

X looked at his hand for a moment and sighed, it was unorthodox, he rarely did this, but it had helped him quickly learn how to use a Ride Armor so he placed his fingertips against the central console and activated his VWS and proceeded to download basic blueprints for the shuttle, his helmet gem glowing bright as he did so.

He could fix this, he just needed to get the parts, thankfully the scrapyard had plenty. And with this, he booted up the main console and activated a text program and typed in, "We can get this fixed. We just need to get the other shuttle close enough to scrap for parts, does anyone have anything that might assist in doing so?"

Grocery Store Rumble

Rick had already kicked off out of the pipe as Rex's fists pulverized the metal ductwork, pausing only to yank his grandson along by the wrist and sending them both hurtling wildly up towards the ceiling, or what would be the ceiling if gravity was working at all.

"hOoOOOOoooooOOOAAAA-"

The world pitched and yawed crazily as grandfather and grandson when hurtling through the air. The sounds of gunfire had already started to ring out across the store as the heroes and militia members did what they did best - which is to say, plough headlong into the situation with the same kind of grace and tact you might expect from a bull note  in a fine Ming china shop.

With the grace of a practiced circus acrobat Rick had bounced off a nearby piece of debris as he made a beeline for the nearest bottle. Ricocheting across the shelves he made for the liquor aisle on the other side of the store, gun in hand and ready to shoot the hell out of anyone who got in his way.

Morty, his initial inertia from the most recent kick, was spinning wildly behind his grandfather, doing his best to stay on course while smacking into shelves, bits of debris and basically everything else that had been uprooted by the sudden loss of gravity.

Grocery Store — Weekly recommended intake of iron

As soon as Rex and Lune got out of the tunnel he had created, they were greeted with a barrage of bullets to the back. Naturally. Rex instinctively tried to protect himself from the bullets but by the time he had reacted, he had already been shot several times.

He would skip the whole business with the bullets but if that's what it took to keep the Ruckus focused on him instead of on killing civilians, so be it. The pain though, yeah, that was still pretty bad. And that sadly meant that his spacesuit wasn't working properly anymore. Add that to the list of things he wouldn't like to be experiencing right now.

But other than that, things were looking up. Really, the only issues right now were keeping the Ruckus focused on them and not letting them escape by commiting suicide.

Rex lifted his left arm trying to punch the ceiling where the Ruckus that had shot were while covering himself with right one. That would teach those pesky anarchists a lesson.

"You are gonna be sorry"

Asriel Dreemurr
Library, 2nd Floor

Asriel listened to Viola's words intently, looking at her as she said that. He wasn't so sure what to really think of that either. Especially the turning into animals. How would that work with him? Then again, he was a monster. Maybe he would've turned into a goat. So he just nodded as she went on, so she knew he was paying attention. When she was finished, he said,

"Yeah, at least you're alive," he said. And don't have to worry about turning into your soulless self, he couldn't help but think after mentioning others could be worse off. "I think I heard about the cult from earlier."

And he left it at that, not only because he felt bad at not being able to do anything to help from what he heard earlier, but also because he noticed a certain someone wasn't around.

"Call?" he said with worry.

He glanced around the immediate area but still didn't see any trace of her. What happened? Did they wander off so much that Call couldn't catch up? Was she distracted? Did she leave him on purpose? He bit his lip. No, there was no way she would. They were complete strangers and yet she was more than willing to offer her services when she had also been pulled from her home. But...what could have possibly happened to her?

He turned back to Viola, and said, apologetically, "Um, pardon me, but I think Call got lost. I'm want to go and look for her, if you don't mind."

"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.

Viola I Library I The Disappearance of Call

I nodded understandingly when he requested to cut the conversation short and search for his missing friend. "Sure. Don't let me stop you now,"

Now this is bizarre. For a moment, I always thought this Call was with us throughout our conversation. And the next thing I know, she suddenly disappeared on us, as though out of thin air. I briefly wondered what may have happened to her and whether or not it is connected with how the City works.

Grocery store, rear airlock

Barely avoiding all but one of the bullets, which grazed him badly, Upgrade managed to get on the gun and merge into it, easily keeping it from firing. As Upgrade's excess goop started to trap Jackson's legs to the... Nothing that he was floating on, Jackson raised an eyebrow. "You're gonna talk about playing fair? That's real rich" Jackson muttered, taking his free hand and grabbing something from his side. "Let's cut this kinky shit!" the man yelled, turning his emphasis into a pun by stabbing the butterfly knife he'd flipped open into Upgrade's side.

"And get back to some more foreplay!" Jackson continued, wrenching the knife in deeper and twisting it.

Grocery store, back of the shopping area

The cross saucers flew forth, going towards the two Ruckus members and aiming for their guns. One thought they had different intent and, rather unfortunately for himself, actually attempted to block with his gun, making it that much easier for the cross saucer to hit the gun and send it tumbling away in zero gravity. The other man however, had opted to counter the second cross saucer, firing a burst of bullets into it which started to break it, then following it up by smashing the butt of his gun into the saucer when it got close. The busted remains of the saucer went spinning away and bounced off the floor a ways behind Lune.

Of course, this did leave the man open to Rex's move however, and he was promptly smashed into the ceiling by the large fist, which cracked a bit; he was out cold, and bleeding from a few places, including his head. The remaining Ruckus member, now disarmed of his gun, was sent tumbling off to one side with the hit. With a few curses, he managed to orient himself enough to grab one of the aisle shelves and swing himself down into the aisle, taking him out of Rex and Lune's view, for the moment.

From the tunnel Rex had made, Fastanook emerged, followed by the other militia members. "You two alright? I heard gunfire. Where are they?" Fastanook sounded off quickly, all in one breath as he snapped his head around to survey the area.

Grocery store, front of the shopping area

Yoshika's entry had gone unnoticed by the Ruckus member, even as loud as the brief airlock breach was, as he was still mainly focusing on the direction the gunfire from earlier had come from. Only when Yoshika moved the shelf and the airlock finally dinged and closed the door in his peripheral vision did he notice. Inside the airlock, the sense of sound that Yoshika had regained was suddenly lost again as the airlock cycled the air out, then opened the outer doors so that those outside could enter.

Once they did so, the outer door closed and then a hissing sound slowly came in as the airlock vented air back into it. The Ruckus member watched with a scowl on his face, and glanced aside at Cole, still floating unconscious. The Ruckus member then raised up his gun, shot Cole in the gut twice, then looked back at those in the airlock and flipped them the bird as he put the gun to his chin and took the easy way out. His body disappeared by the time the airlock opened, just leaving Cole there, now bleeding out on top of being unconscious.

"SON OF A BITCH! Let's go and try to take at least some of them captive before they're all dead!" the militia pilot said, quickly moving himself into the store along with Nails. Rachel floated herself over to Cole and wrenched his OSFA helmet off so his suit wouldn't be in the way of some direly needed treatment.

Thomas was still floating in the airlock, looking absolutely horrified towards where the Ruckus member had just been. "Why do they do these horrible things?" Thomas thought out loud, towards nobody in particular.

Separate ship, with Caro and Sans

Yael tumbled for a moment before coming to a stop in the middle of the middle of the air. He whipped his pistol around towards Caro again, but he didn't fire; instead, his eyes narrowed, then he turned his gun slightly sideways as if glancing at the handle, the magazine. He was likely doing a quick headcount of how many rounds he had left.

"You want to take me alive huh? I'll never go that easily!" Yael said, sweeping his hand over his other forearm as some kind of holographic interface popped up there; there was a shimmer of light around Yael as his suit's shield turned off. Then, he crammed the barrel of the pistol up into the crook of his neck and chin, ready to off himself on a moment's notice. "You just try it, either of you" the quarian dared them, his eyes glaring an obvious hatred at them even with the rest of his face obscured by the tinted mask.

The grocery store, rear airlock

"Gah!" Upgrade exclaimed in pain as Jackson twisted a knife into his gelatinous form. He formed his body away from the knife, letting go of Jackson, then lashed out one of his arms at Jackson to punch him down the hall. "Oh, you... you wanna play? How 'bout soccer? You're the ball!" While Jackson was flying against the wall, Upgrade lashed out his arm towards one of the open doorways, into a cargo room, and swung himself in, shutting the door behind him.

Once safely inside, he put a hand to his side where Jackson had stabbed him. There didn't seem to be visible damage but it still hurt like the dickens.

Shuttle above the grocery store

The human man had just pressed the button to close the shuttle door behind Eve when he noticed her doing something odd with her hair, towards the controls. Eve's hair didn't make it before the man shoved off the wall in order to tackle and grab her. Now that the door was closed, the shuttle was able to start slowly filling the compartment with atmosphere again; the man was yelling something at her, but the air was still thin, and Eve couldn't quite make it out. Then he started yelling something else at the ogre, and pointed his arm fervently at the control panel where the Sangheili was.note

The ogre turned one of his heads and noticed the Sangheili working the controls, and promptly started yelling himself, pushing himself over there and then grabbing the Sangheili's shoulders and trying to pull him out of the pilot seat. As the ogre and the alien started struggling with each other, the man kept yelling at Eve, the words faintly becoming audible by now. "WHO ARE YOU?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

Cole was no stranger to getting overworked or knocked out in battle, and waking up some time later in a degree of pain. He'd been burned, stabbed, half-crushed by dragons, frozen, everything that the Venatori, darkspawn, demons, or bandits that he and the Inquisition fought against could come up with. Usually, he would wake up to healing poultices from the Inquisitor, or magic from Dorian or Solas, still exhausted and achey but feeling safe, protected, and cared over, knowing he was going to get better.

Finding himself suddenly jolted into consciousness by what felt like a fire sprouting in his stomach was definitely not the usual.

For a few seconds he had no idea where he was. He'd been asleep, he had a brief flash of being surrounded in flames, being covered in something, and instinctively he wanted to reach out with his mind to find the Inquisitor, Varric, Solas, Dorian, Iron Bull, anyone, wanting to ask what was happening, what happened, why was it this way.

Then someone was grabbing at a glass thing around his head, and he was jolted back into what his reality had been for the last week, what he had been helping to do before he wasn't awake...even as he became aware of what looked like some sort of reddish...drops?...floating in the air, and that the burning feeling in his guts was getting hotter and more intense in a way he didn't understand. His head was still pounding from the overuse of his invisibility, there had been blood from his nose even before whatever this was, and he was vaguely aware of familiar people near him, and more unfamiliar ones.

"...what happened...?" he asked softly, looking at Rachel with an expression that was more confusion than anything, a hand going down to touch at his strangely wet and hot tunic, staring down at the redness on it. "...where's Sans...? Did he g-get the bad person...?"

Eve|Shuttle|20-20 hindsight

In retrospect, that was not her best idea. She had two ways to deal with this. Burst into tears (Aunty Rins had taught her that men were traditionally uncomfortable with tears), or remain calm and explain herself, since the atmosphere was rapidly growing.

She begun by retracting her hair as far as she could without the man losing his grip on it. She then raised her hands, slowly, to show that they were empty and placed them on her helmet, pulling it off, once again, slowly. She began to speak, keeping her hands raised upwards in a generic 'I come in peace' gesture. Her tone was slow, steady and calm.

"My name is Eve. I am a member of the City Knights, and I came to ask you if you knew of a way into the grocery store below. I aimed to connect with the console to create an atmosphere so we could talk. Nothing else. Nothing more. I promise."

Grocery Store

When the Ruckus member shoved an unconscious Cole up against the airlock, Jack had let out an involuntary shout. His anger and fear had the frost on his helmet creeping up once again, and he forced himself to calm slightly. He tightened and untightened his grip on Twinetender as he waited at the back of the group. When the man's head had exploded, the spirit had flinched slightly and then just watched grimly as the body disappeared.

The wait for the airlock to cycle seemed like forever, and when the man had shot Cole and then shot himself, Jack felt like his heart stopped. An icy anger flooded the spirit, and it was feeling like Pitch and Sandy all over again. The frost on his helmet shot up the glass rapidly, and he tore it off in frustration. He was set to shoot off out of the airlock to try and help, when he caught the expression of the young boy with them.

Jack sighed, and after a quick glance out into the store, turned to him. He shouldn't have been here. And he really shouldn't have seen that. Placing a hand on top of Thomas' helmet to get his attention, he spoke. "There's... no real way to answer that, and you shouldn't try to understand why. It's not something you should have to worry about. I'm sorry you had to see that, kid."

"City knights?! You're with the alien transforming kid? For goodness sake's girl, I thought you were Ruckus trying to hijack the ship!" the man said, clearly speaking loudly but still slightly muffled. He stopped trying to grapple with Eve, clearing away from her and pulling her arm to help her get back to a better oriented position in the shuttle. "I'm with the militia; one of our teams already snuck in with some of the other heroes. But we had to break off to deal with this; I'm sorry, I can't help you" he continued, then looked over at the continuing struggle between the ogre and the sangheili.

"People are already on to you, idiot!" the orge's left head was saying, mid argument with the alien. "They won't buy you blaming that guy! You're just going to get everyone in the city angry at us!" the right head added.

"They should be thanking us if we stop that demon! Who cares if some human scum die to accomplish it; they'll just come back anyway!" the Sangheili argued, still struggling against the ogre grabbing him from behind; he was attempting to kick something on the control panel with one of his feet. The militia man pushed off the wall to head towards the two, frowning.

During it all, the kobold just watched, then glanced at Eve and blinked a couple times.

Space ship - No escaping it this time

Unfortunately, it seemed that Yael was going for the tactic of killing himself to get away. They couldn't allow that, but they couldn't be intimidated by his threat, because his next move would like be turning the fire towards them as soon as they stopped their offensive.

She would try something alright, but it would be something that would stop his suicidal escape plan and hopefully finally capture him for good.

She needed all her focus and energy for this, so she had to drop her barrier. If her plan worked it wouldn't be needed. She once again casted Wrought Iron Summon, with the large Summoner Square replacing the previous Circle.

Her immediate action was to try to tamper his weapon, trying to at least jam it and stopped it from fire before he could react, if not to break it down altogether. She also attempted to pull it away to a direction were it wouldn't hit any of them if it still worked or misfired.

With that hopefully taken care of, she would once cause chains to erupt, this time from below him. Once more, she would attempt to wrap those around him and then try to use them to pin him to the floor. With Sans holding him in the air, There was a much better chance that it would actually work now and she really hoped it finally caught him for good this time.

Sylvia crossed her arms and watched X as he did his techie thing. "What is this guy?"

"'We can get this fixed...'" Wander read aloud. "Oh! Oh! Assisting? We can do that!!"

"Can we?" Sylvia asked with a frown. "He's asking us to...manually push the shuttle over, I think. Yeah, I can do that, but we're stuck in this orbble.

Wander went quiet for a second, then visibly brightened. "Ding!"

"Got an idea?"

"We'll just bubble the other shuttle too!"

"...Oh, that could work. Gotta be honest, I was expecting something stupid."

Together, she and Wander maneuvered their way over to the broken ship. Wander took the bottle of orbble juice out of his hat. Sylvia eyed it and gave it an experimental shake. "I think we have enough...this city better have orbble pumps."

If you were careful, the orbbles wouldn't pop when you stuck your hand out, so Wander (his arms were longer) dunked the orbble wand in juice and stuck his arm out into bare space so he could wave the wand around the broken ship. It took quite a lot of maneuvering for him to have enough reach to make a large enough bubble - in fact, the two spent a while thrashing around in a bubble in space looking ridiculous - but finally Wander managed to bubble to spare parts. The orbble lifted up in the air, and Wander and Sylvia merged theirs with it and promptly stopped floating and dropped down on top of the heap of metal.

"There," Sylvia said proudly. "X, we'll float this over to you in a minute!"
