Yeah, I noticed they're not dead yet. Though with Demoverse's last post being for Sophie in the tunnels following Curly before she turned around and jumped in the battle, who knows how that'll turn out.

Anyway, I was waiting to see if there'd be another Sophie post, but I guess I waited enough for this round.

Hello, Firock, I've got a few questions so that I can picture the City better in my head:

• How tall are the tallest buildings? Are there any skyscrapers around?
• Is the city's topography completely flat, or are there hills, valleys etc.?
• How much space is there between the buildings? Are there any particularly wide streets, city squares etc.?
• How 'green' is the City? Are the trees and grass limited to parks, or are there lawns, planted trees, copses etc. between the buildings?

Apologies for not posting for a while; some things came up that I had to take care of.

@Korodzik: None of those questions really apply during the current day, but as for when the city is "normal"...

• There's some tall office buildings that are about ten stories in height, which are currently the tallest buildings. The biggest building in terms of overall area and square footage is the library, but it is not the tallest, since it's only five stories tall.
• The city is completely flat normally.
• The streets are all two lane, though the lanes are a bit wider than standard real life lanes. There are sometimes alleys between buildings, and sometimes city squares or other features appear, yes.
• It's mostly just the parks, though the suburban style houses that appear do have lawns that can have planted trees in the yards.

@Demovere: Are you about to post? I just finished and was about to post the next combat post. Also, I hope things are going alright for you.

Yeah, I'm typing up a post right now.

With that latest combat post, now all the characters in the library are considered part of the combat for purposes of posting. (Yes, even the ones who can't really fight at all.)

@Demovere: The leviathan most certainly is not slow. Atlantis: The Lost Empire didn't give a crap about the Square-Cube Law when they came up with this thing. Not in the slightest.

Well looks like Curly's basically out of the battle (though I'll assume she's still in battle posting for now), dunno if she'll end up dead or manage to find one of the lower tunnels to drift to on her way down. Also, I'm curious if the destroyed portions of the city are gone for good, until the end of the day, or what.

Demo: Understandable, I just felt a little bad for changing things up so much between your last post and now and possibly getting Sophie killd because of it, but hey, she's fine!

Alright, with that quick post I'm gonna get going for tonight. Tomorrow's an evening shift, but it's short enough that I think I'll actually be online earlier than I was today; around an hour earlier I would guess, maybe a little less.

Here now, fully recapped. Quiet in the discussion thread today I see. I'm actually going to hold off on posting for the non-combat stuff for reasons that should become apparent once my combat post is up. That itself is currently waiting for about three more hours to pass, or for a couple more of the characters who haven't been posted for yet to be accounted for.

EDIT: Alright, with the leviathan abruptly relocated in this latest post, I'm temporarily considering nobody to be in combat with it. It is up to you guys whether to take the chance to regroup, set up a plan, etc., or just immediately reengage.

EDIT AGAIN: And I'm gonna get going for tonight now. As I mentioned before, tomorrow's shift is a long one, and I don't expect to be online until around an hour later than I was online tonight. I'll also have to get going much earlier, so all in all I just won't be online much tomorrow, unfortunately; I'll probably only have time to make one post. At least I'll be on early on Tuesday.

Today is gonna be my only day off this week, so I've got to spend as much of it as I can cleaning up my house/laundry/whatever before I go to bed early enough to be able to get up and get myself together before our company higher-ups show up to inspect the new building tomorrow, so don't expect anymore from Cole until say, at least another 24 hours. That may change depending on how it goes, but just a heads-up just in case. Feel free to post around him to your heart's content lol

Alright, soooo...I'm gonna have to go on another hiatus. I'm failing IED, and knowing my mom she's gonna completely cut me off the internet until I bring it up, which is gonna be...pretty hard. For now, though, just assume something like "Karkat bled to death" or "Karkat fell into the water, and not knowing how to swim thanks to never being near an ocean his entire life, drowned" or some shit.

Anyway, I'm here now and fully recapped. I do intend to get a post up tonight, but probably just the one; also I'm still thinking about exactly what I want to post so I'm going to check on some stuff before I start working on it.

EDIT: Wow that took longer than I thought it would to type. Anyway, I've gotta get going for tonight now. Tomorrow I should be online much earlier. I'm not certain how much earlier, since I'll almost certainly take a bath after my work shift, and possibly also a nap. My current estimate would be around five hours earlier.

Here now, fully recapped; just got done resting in bed. I'll see about trying to post in not too long, though my mind doesn't feel entirely here yet and I'm still working out exactly what I want to post. So I'm going to check on some things and maybe watch some videos in the meantime.

For those of you who don't frequent the Skype chat, COLC now has a character page. It's only for the GM-controlled NPCs, though (adding the PCs would just make things messy).

Alright, with that simple post I'm gonna get going for tonight. Tomorrow is back to the later shifts for this week; I probably won't be on until around the same time I was on Monday night, maybe even a bit later. So around four hours later or a bit more than I was online today.

Boss fight post is still sort of waiting on Nagisa Stick, since John Egbert is the only character fighting it currently, but I'm not going to wait forever on that.

@Demovere: I was originally thinking Curly's "headphone" radio would run silent so nobody else could hear it (because you don't want radio chatter to give away someone on a stealth mission), but then I realized it made just as much sense to have an option let other people listen in without her having to parrot everything. So thanks for the world building!

Also, a general note. I'm headed out of town at some point in the day Thursday and won't be back until Monday. We're driving out of state for a weekend trip and I dunno if I'll bring my laptop, but I'll have my cell phone so I should be able to do some RPing while I'm away.

Alright, finally here and fully recapped. Today was a very busy work shift, much busier than we were expecting; though I did get to get out on time, I was not able to take my 30 minute break and thus was pretty much unable to do any recapping on my phone during work. Which is part of why I'm here later than I expected.

I'll start working on a post just as soon as I check on some things, but it will probably take me a while to type up.

Tomorrow my shift is supposed to end half an hour earlier, and if I also get my break this time to recap on my phone, I should be online and ready to work on a post faster too. Hopefully.

A heads up, I am super exhausted and kinda sick (incidentally I had to babysit politicians all day, go figure) so I might not make it back online. May check the boards if I wake up in the middle of the night but no promises.

(Incidentally, have we already discussed a World in the Sky day? I found that trope on my "random trope" wikiwalking while trying not to strangle a city mayor and was pondering how it would work.)

Isn't the City in general basically already a City in the Sky? How would that be any different?

Not sure how well it would work even if it was a bunch of floating landmasses. The characters who can fly would have an innate advantage and those who can't would pretty much be stuck without some form of transportation between the landmass chunks.

Well we've got boats and subs today, pretty sure transportation could possibly be arranged for such a situation
