CoLC crossover RP, discussion

I have very mixed feelings on Madoka. On one hand, I feel as if I'm obligated to watch it at some point since I'm writing a magical girl story of my own and thus I should watch all the greats to make sure I understand the genre, and the characters seem interesting enough from what little I've seen on them.

On the other hand, everything else I've read about it just makes me go "Nope." While I do appreciate darker works, I'm definitely not a fan of grimdark, or at least that kind of grimdark. This is coming from the same guy who likes Bloodborne, though, so I don't know.

Seeing characters from it in COLC would certainly be an interesting experience, though.

So I literally just had to spend ten minutes convincing a guy on the phone that spending $150 to save $10 wasn't the wisest investment he could make. How is everyone else's day going.

@Yome: I recommend you watch Yuki Yuna Is a Hero instead of Madoka really. It'd appeal to you better, I feel.

Day's going by pretty slowly for me I guess. And yeah, those kinda deals are just marketing scams. XD

Oh no no, you see, this man had a brilliant idea. See, our Sunday editions cost $1.50, and the daily editions are only 75 cents. He needed to buy several copies to get an obit that ran today for family members, but he had the thought that hey, if he paid to run the obit again, tomorrow, then he would only have to pay 75 cents rather than $1.50 for each copy!

Of course the paid obituary would have cost something like $150 but hey! He wouldn't pay for the full Sunday editions! It's genius!

Sadly I couldn't get it through to him what a bad idea this was and finally resorted to just telling him the department that could do that for him wouldn't be back in until Tuesday :|

I'm going to IHOP later today. And that's literally it.

I have college work to do today and I'm procrastinating like hell right now.

And playing Overwatch

I should really get back to playing that.

Well, I have this idea to revitalize an old idea based on the Justice Avengers thread with basically everything MINUS DC and Marvel except a few things, and one recurring villain would be Kyubey, as his douchebaggery is revealed from the outset as the Guardians of the Universe and the Watcher have managed to prove that the reasoning for the whole Witch system in the first place is total BS. In fact, in my idea, Kyubey's race was created by Lord English .

Why would Richard Garriott create the Incubators?

Here now, fully recapped; not that there was much to recap. Slow weekend syndrome is hitting pretty hard today. For now I'm not going to bother with making a main post; I'll wait until later today or until some more people have posted things I could respond to.

@Kyubey: I would allow the character but I would not allow the ability to turn others into magical girls.

... I feel like I should maybe add a bit to the signup rules about abilities that give other characters lots of power not being allowed.

@Makaioh That would be the fun thing, keeping her from turning Witch, especially since her only friends are now in another dimension. >:D Heck, if she turned full Witch and was unable to turn back, I might play with her for a while and then switch out for a different character and just dump her back in her universe as an eldritch abomination. As for keeping her from sinking to that level of despair, though, I might have her ask Miss Tairee if she could magically conjure Grief Seeds.

@Yomegami Personally, PMMM is dark, but I never really found it all that bad. It might just be because Values Dissonance or something always kept me from really grasping the horror of what a Soul Gem really is, and I can't ńot see that Kyubey brings up really good points in trying to save the universe—something that makes me feel like a horrible person on a regular basis.

@JustSomeGuy: It would literally be the shot that Mami is looking at Charlotte about to bite her head off, and then she'd disappear and arrive in the City.

I dunno, the whole reason of preventing the heat death of the universe seems like complete bull to me, and the Incubators are all highly delusional psychopaths who enjoy killing off little girls in the most horrifying yet convoluted way possible. If these things have the entire universe to lookout for, why the HELL is Earth the only planet their creating magical girls in?!

BUT THEN HOW WILL THIS HAPPEN◊?!

@Loco: Maybe nerf Kyubey's magical girl creating ability so that it can only provide the costume but none of the powers.

Wouldn't Jack be the Big Bad of Homestuck? Then it would be the Condesce as the Greater Scope Villian, and then Lord English as the Greatest SV.
