@Chilifro: I know Dante a little better since somebody played as Dante back in the MMFRPG, and thanks to a recent Death Battle video, but other than that I have no direct knowledge with him, nor do my friends. Thankfully, again, there is an extensive character page, though I only skimmed it, not read it fully.

It all seems accurate, though I think you should have maybe mentioned that he's a music aficionado that can play at least guitar and probably drums too. tongue

Anyway, with the devil trigger already nerfed the only thing I take partial issue to is his guns being effectively bottomless, given how much he seems to spam them from what I've seen. Since it is canonically his demonic powers doing that anyway, I'd like it if firing his guns continuously slowly drained his energy, so that way he couldn't just do it forever.

@deleteman900: Oh hey, one that my friends know very well so this went pretty quick.

The only thing that's wrong is what your wording about the drone seems to imply. My friend made it clear that it doesn't really work "at a distance". In fact it's apparently so close range that it's practically a melee attack, according to my friend who has played ME3.

Dante is accepted.

I'll go ahead and switch the active character listing for that now. For the record, it will not count as your Day 8 switch.

Regarding attitude: The detail here is that, while she does grow to be more optimistic and overall more open to others as an adult, in this particular path she takes rather drastic approaches when it comes to handling her opponents. Basically, she has less qualms about killing (still some, but not as many as she had back then, or as she would have in other job paths) and, while she still fights for good, she puts her wishes to grow stronger above her sense of justice.

Regarding resurrection: While it does cost Ara all her spirit orbs to resurrect (with that amount varying from at least five to all ten, and healing 15-30% of her HP at top level), it costs her absolutely no mana, and with the right combination of skills she can regain all her spirit orbs in around five seconds. I, for the sake of practicality, decided to leave as many strict gameplay elements out as I could, so I consider her to have a single energy pool rather than two energy pools that can be basically interchangeable. As for the cooldown, yes, I did increase it from two minutes (it was reduced recently, the character page needs an update) to 48 hours as a way to balance out the fact that she basically cheats death. I was actually considering to not even include it in the signup, but I thought I had to bring out the fact that she could originally do it, and provide a somewhat plausible period where she can not use it rather than just say "she can also revive herself every two minutes." That being said, I don't plan to have Ara killed every two days just to resurrect her, and I don't really mind it being removed altogether if you wish, but I do think it's a pretty nifty trick to have around just in case.

@Katarsus: Ah, I see. Reducing it down to one pool of mana seems fine.

Again though, I don't personally see it as being that strong even if it is every two minutes. If it drains her power greatly and only barely puts her back on her feet, then in a lot of potential scenarios there wouldn't be much stopping whatever opponent had put her down in the first place from simply doing it again. Especially if it just drains so much of her power that she couldn't have enough to use it over and over anyway; in which case two minutes would only be the minimum cooldown, effectively.

Okay, after a discussion that kinda got scrambled around among the discussion thread and PMs, deleteman900 and I have worked out the issues with their character sheet.

Tali is accepted.

@deleteman900: As I mentioned in one of my PMs, you'd be better off waiting until the next in-game day starts before actually jumping in with Tali, since that's probably going to be happening tomorrow night real-time. Until then, you should read the first post of the main thread to see what Tali's arrival to the city should be like, and also check out the first post of the discussion thread for things such as a description of the city and various links.

It's just that she wouldn't actually be completely defenseless after resurrecting. While she would still be injured, probably tired, and would most likely not be able to use any energy attacks, she'd still be able to fight using her spear and her martial arts. And if she were to borrow strength from Eun at that point (who, as I stated, can give her a minor healing and speed boost), or if Eun herself were to take over, it would result in her being able to effectively fight as if she were in a... somewhat decent condition.

I just want to make sure I don't accidentally abuse the thing (like I've actually intentionally done in-game a few times), because if she somehow were to get a strong enough energy boost, or if she managed to catch a break and recover for long enough while others handle whatever opponent it is she's fighting, there's a significant chance she'd be able to do it again after a while.

Maybe two days is a bit too much, but I think two minutes is a bit too little.

@Katarsus: In terms of an actual fight, two minutes is a long time; as long as you didn't try having her use it every post, or better yet just make sure you only did it once per fight max, I don't think that would be overly-abusing it.

Though your point about her using Eun makes me realize I should have asked this before: What is the limitation on her using Eun in combat? What keeps her from just letting Eun take over every single time a fight starts?

Gameplay-wise, it is a unique part of her awakening (a system which is common to all characters, some of which have unique aspects of their own), and she can only use it after hitting opponents a certain amount of times and for a certain period. Story-wise, however, other than mutual trust and respect, and the fact that Ara wishes to grow stronger on her own, only Eun's own limited power prevents her from being out too often, and she still needs to rest every now and then. Otherwise, she could very well just take over all the time if she so pleased.

So Eun has her own limited energy for control. I see.

Yeah, I still don't really see a problem then. Since dying and coming back on the spot is still going to cost Ara a lot of energy and health, and if on top of that she then immediately turns over control to Eun, then killing her is still taking a lot of Ara's potential combat assets away from her: Her health, her energy, and Eun's own energy. All in all, far from an insignificant blow, even if it doesn't take her out of the fight immediately.

Hypothetically, then all her opponent has to do is kill her again within two minutes, or make sure that she can't rest up enough to have energy for a second resurrection.

That would correct, yes.

Oh, one final detail I think I should point out. She does have a move called Energy Absorption that sucks some energy out of someone standing right in front of her. Not particularly powerful, and definitely not enough to get her to resurrect again, but still worth noting.

Edit: I realized that she'd most likely not have enough energy to cast it either way, so it's a moot point, I guess.

Question, would a character who is incapable of combat be allowed in this RP? I have someone in mind that could maybe(and that's a very big maybe) cast a spell or two, but that's about it.

Seeing as everyone and their grandma are signing up, I decided to give it a go myself in case I ever get tired of playing as Ranma. Also for the reason I'm playing as him in another RP so it kinda feels weird I'm playing as two of them at once. XD

  • Story: Mahou Sensei Negima
  • Name: Negi Springfield
  • Age, gender, and species: 10, Male, and Human Immortal
  • Appearance: "Greetings and salutations."
  • Personality: Negi is cheerful and a bit of a pushover on the surface, usually going on with the flow of shenanigans with the minimum of token resistance. An English gentleman of the highest degree, he is constantly polite and mild to any he meets. At least until people push certain buttons. However, deep within his psyche lies a darker side that constantly berates himself for anything less than perfect as well as a rather strong sense of camaraderie that often times segue into overprotectiveness that is also surprisingly overly violent. For a young boy his age, Negi is rather pessimistic and has rather low self-esteem despite his many accomplishments, something that regularly gets him into trouble.
  • Back story: Negi is a bright young man with a rather dark past whose story had begun with him having been nominated to become an English teacher at an all girl private campus. After various amounts of wacky hijinks, young Negi then embarked on a quest to find out about his origins while having merciless fights with various super powered anomalies along the way while heading the most supernatural class of schoolgirls in all of Japan. As of the current point in time, he's set into motion a plan that would save a special alternate reality of Mars (complete with a population of several million) from complete obliteration by calling for a construction of a magitech space elevator.
  • Skills/powers/abilities: Negi is classified as a Magic Knight class of Magician, or someone who mixes long range spell casting with short range melee so as to eliminate the weakness of traditional wizards. He can use magic for a great deal of things: physical reinforcement, magical barriers, and traditional elemental discharges. The boy is well versed in several elements, though his most favored ones belong to the Lightning and Wind categories. As such he can call down lightning bolts, electrically discharge shocking amounts of electricity, sneeze people's clothes off, or imbue basic spells such as Magic Arrows with his elemental property among other things. Generally, the more powerful the spell, the longer the incantation time takes and the more mana is drained. Being a genius, it's not rare to see the young magister think up new-never-before-made spells whole cloth. Besides his incredible magical arsenal of spells, the wizard is an adept warrior in his own right, excelling in Chinese Martial Arts and being more than sufficiently skilled at fencing with one-handed swords. Finally, his limited immortality (doesn't age past a certain point but can still be killed) stems from the fact he learned the forbidden magic Magea Erebea. Besides uprating his natural recovery speed and allowing him to live for way longer than an ordinary human, it lets him potentially combine discharged elemental magics into his very soul to attain an empowered state where he becomes a pseudo-elemental with his abilities changing in different ways (lightning makes him fast while fire makes him strong as an example). Unfortunately, Magea Erebea comes with the side-effect of making it very easy for Negi to get riled up since it's empowered by his darker impulses, sometimes even leading into a berserk state. Full list of magical abilities here, will be willing to go with whatever nerfs the GM wants since he's a bit stronk and it'd be way faster than copy and pasting everything onto the sign-up.
  • Items: Negi carries around his iconic wooden staff that he uses to fly about on and cast spells, though nowadays he has a ring which he uses as a focusing agent. Also on him are his Pactio cards holder, one perverted fairy ermine, a cool looking cloak, his battle clothes, multiple pairs of glasses, a bottle of magical pills that can temporarily age him ten years older, a short sword, a magic gun (gun shaped wizard discharging apparatus), portable research materials and a cloaking spell that disguises his telltale glowing Magia Erebea tattoos.
  • Other: His sneezes can inadvertently strip people of their outer layer of clothing as well as disarm weapons not held tightly enough in a gust of magical wind.

  • Name: Albert Chamomile
  • Age, gender, and species: Unknown Age, Male, and Fairy Ermine
  • Appearance: "Aniki, I'm gonna scout out all the hotties!
  • Personality: Albert Chamomile could be described as fae-like on a good day by those that know him for just a few minutes: mischievous, naughty, and intelligent. To those that are more in the know about his true nature, they'd instantly relate him to a perverted middle aged con-man who likes to smoke cigars and be a general bad influence on his "older brother" Negi. That said, Albert is intelligent in his own way- one that is scheming and conniving in an almost comedic manner.
  • Back story: Chamo's story began when Negi was five and saved him from a hunter's trap in the woodlands of Wales. Deciding to pay back this debt, the ostentatious fairy ermine decided to lend Negi his services as both adviser and familiar. Nowadays he plays as a comedic foil to his more serious comrade, as well as being the main why Negi has so many Pactio contracts.
  • Skills/powers/abilities: Chamo has amazing magical knowledge, though unlike Negi his skills isn't nearly as combat capable. The fairy ermine however though is skilled in various miscellaneous spells such as turning an ordinary lighter's flame into a flash bang or jamming enemy telepathy. His real skills though lays in the erection of magical sigils, runes, and circles- especially Pactios.
    • The word Pactio translates into "Agreement", and is a ritual where the Magister (Negi) exchanges bodily fluids with a Ministra (potential partner) in the middle of a magical circle (drawn by Chamo) to signify an provisional contract. The Magister and Ministra develop a sort of spiritual link and gain all sorts of benefits from each other such as the both of them gaining the ability to telepathically contact each other by having one of the two be holding their cards to their heads. Ministra can siphon excess magic from the Magister to physically empower themselves, with the degree of buffing related to how much magic the Magister has and how physically able the Ministra's base form is. Along with this buff is the ability to summon a special magical artifact specifically suited to the Ministra's personality and abilities (a ninja gets a ninja cloak that leads to a house-sized pocket dimension, a gunner gets a special gun, someone who can swim good gaining a mermaid suit that lets them teleport through the usage of water as a medium, and a gynoid that likes cats getting a cutesy cat-themed magitech laser). On the Magister side of things, they can instantly summon their partner to their own side if the Ministra is in the vicinity of a city's worth of distance. Successful Pactios result in the creation of two pairs of laminated cards detailing the Ministra along with Latin text giving a short descriptor of the person in question such as name, astrological sign, title, and artifact name.
  • Other: Chamo has an almost infinite supply of cigars, lighters, adult magazines, flash drives, and chalk. He's also a very good computer hacker. His fur also leads into a subspace pocket that lets him pull out things that shouldn't fit in there is how he has the supplies he has.
