Hmm, I suppose the Zombie model could be mass produced target practice for drills or something.
I do believe that the mining and construction would have a good deal of say in academies such as this. Sponsorships in those areas are possible, and the resources could be donated for the development of new models. A trades and crafts programme wouldn't be that hard to implement. Extra curriculars are obviously a thing.
Though for the sake of the RP, could we assume that everyone wants to be military pilots?
Phoenix, I'll be your overeager American patriot that loves war, sex, and drugs.
"In the grim darkness of the future, there is only war."I think I'll draw the line at those last two things.
Also, age limit for students. What should the minimum age be? Any maximum?

Probably those around the age of starting air force pilots or something.
"In the grim darkness of the future, there is only war."Alright then.
Really, any potential ideas are welcome. What's been said already isn't set in stone yet. What do you think of things so far? Any questions? Something about the proposed models you want to say? Feel free to speak your mind about the ideas raised so far.

Well, in my own Mecha setting it's rather UC Gundam like, in that a highly advanced General Purpose mecha comes out fielding the best technologies combined together to make something greater, and it's called the Chimera.
Should I continue?
Of course. Just remember, at the start of the RP, mecha will still be rather basic. Doesn't mean we can't use ideas later on when new models are introduced.
Alright.
Model: Chimera
- Capabilities:
- Strength : C
- Speed: C-
- Energy: A
- Armor: B
- Control: A
- Maneuverability: B
The Chimera is a top of the line Mech that serves as a advanced combat unit, with it's name referring to how it's a veritable combination of the best technologies available at the time. Could be considered a Ace unit.
Hmm...the Chimera's low strength and speed, yet high energy and other stats looks like it would be a good support unit.
Units like that will be necessary. Restocking and repairing are near essential on the battlefield.
This brings me to another point. Built-in weapons. Unlike weapons that are wielded, these tend to have a large reservoir of ammo, but can't be reloaded. They also cannot be lost, and do not take up space in the mecha's Space stat. They are also more accurate.
Any thoughts? What do you think of the Stahl, Tetsu, Skye and the Zombie models?
I meant it to be more in line with the Gundam it was based after, but I didn't want to make it OP.
Well, if you had to take an estimate, how much space do you think the Chimera would have for extras? Space is another thing to consider when making a model.
At most good thrusters and sturdy armor, with of course head vulcans.
So the Chimera either has a lot of built in weaponry, is quite large and heavily armored, or is a heavy user of unarmed melee attacks. Am I getting close?

It only has the Vulcans as internal weapons, relying more on strength and armor if it has no melee weapons. So large and heavily armored could be accurate.
So it fills the role of damage soaking, and counter attacking in melee?
Definitely destined as a support unit to step in the way and take hits for allies. I like it. Very much so. Country of origin, just for background?
I'd say Germany.
Alrighty then. I'll wait and see what the others think about the models and setting so far before finalizing them.
The Chimera was a result of everything German scientists knew about making a mecha at the time. This led to the creation of the Chimera, the world's first Juggernaut class mecha. Sadly, it is still very much in the preliminary design phase, with kinks in the system being sorted out, and creating a reactor strong enough to even move the mech.
How does that sound?

Sounds good.
Alright, before we move onto making more models, how will mecha work? My suggestion:
A generator located in the area that would normally be the heart on a human being is outfitted with a special, partially self replenishing fuel cell to supply power to batteries, where power is distributed towards the systems to actually make the mecha function.
This is also why weapons and such that are built in cannot be removed or changed, as it could possibly break the circuit. While the reactor makes enough power for the mecha to function with a little extra, energy weapons draw on reserves, and a mecha would normally need to stand still for reserves to recharge.
What system should we use for the extra equipment? While I know I suggested a space stat, perhaps we should use slots for equipment.
For example, the Stahl might have 5 slots. So, normally, weapons and utilities take up one slot, with larger, more powerful items taking up more than one.
So...like this.
- Stahl Mechanical Ltd. Egret Pistol 12 Shot. 1 slot
- Patton Industrial Copperhead Assault Rifle 20 shots 1 slot
- Campbell International Edge knife. 1 slot
- Stonewall Boomer missile launcher 4 shots. 2 slots

I like this idea of an academy of mecha pilots. Perhaps we could expand the roster from just pilots to engineers? Pilots could handle the action and engineers could build more mechas, just to make things a bit more organized. Although, there could be some overlap between the two.
Hmm...never thought of that before. But I like it! Support crew roles, anyone?
Hm, maybe some kind of Mecha-less psion would be cool
There would also be sponsors too, manufacturing mechas are hard own on their own so they'd need tons of cash just to procure one from someone. The people most likely to join in academy are those who are affiliated with a group, those lucky enough to be born rich, and those who are so good that their talent better be put to work immediately.
"In the grim darkness of the future, there is only war."Model: Ziode
- Capabilities:
- Strength : B
- Speed: A
- Energy: C
- Armor: C
- Control: B
- Maneuverability: A
- The Ziode is a highly maneuverable machine with a mix of close quarters and long range weapons, painted red all over. Charlie's model is rumoured to be three times faster than a normal Ziode, but this has not been confirmed. Its armor is rather thin in some places, and its long range weapons are not as powerful as some others.

Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.
I don't know the first thing about contracts, so... if you are willing to stand for my enlightenment... are you willing to explain to me the concept 'bout 'em?
