I listened to the soundtrack on repeat for a while, then I stopped listening to it, but after watching the video The Handle linked, I'm currently listening to the soundtrack again. I'm not sure how much of the songs I have memorized.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.I want to see it when it comes to London later next year, but I don't have a first-born son (or daughter, let's not discriminate here) to sacrifice so I can get a ticket to see the show.
I got into Hamilton really slowly. First time I heard it is was too much rap, too fast, but then I listened to it again, and again, and again, and I've listened to it every single day for 2 months now. I didn't even know it was Lin-Manuel or that it was the same guy who did In the Heights, which I had seen on Broadway, so when I did some research, I was completely shocked to see that.
But I've already created a Hamilton cosplay and am planning on trying to get tickets to see in during the National Tour in Los Angeles. Here is the Hamilton and Les Miserables cosplayer meetup at the Frankfurt Bookfair.
Your Obedient Servant, A.HamI almost have the lyrics of Alexander Hamilton fully memorised, but I keep saying it as "...dropped in a forgotten spot in the middle of the Caribbean" rather than "...dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean". This is pissing me off, can someone help me?
Tangentially related:
Am I the only one who hears more Elton John in "You'll Be Back" than Beatles?
Schyler Sisters, Rule 63
Also, the Ensemble gets A Day in the Limelight
Crossed from the US Politics thread - because our new presidency seems to possess bizarre taste in the arts.
As much as I dislike Pence and Trump, I also dislike people interrupting shows and movies by yelling stuff.
I hope they really played up the Laurens/Hamilton relationship in that performance to make that homophobic asshat uncomfortable

Nothing bizarre about it. It's a great show with cross-demographic appeal. Let him be. Piss off, he's watching the show now.
Though it's be hilariously presidential if he got shot in the theatre.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. But he's the vice president, not the president.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Trump is an even worse version of Aaron Burr that Hamilton helped get elected by creating the electoral college. Kinda tragic.
Also I just got into this. I'm Hamilton trash too.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."DONT COMPARE BURR TO THAT ORANGE PIECE OF SHIT
True, the only thing the two have in common is lack of principles and a shit-ton of ambition and opportunism.
But Burr knew how to wait, how to talk less, how to be concise, how to avoid being too forthcoming...
Then he failed to become President and went full Asshole for the rest of his life.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.In unrelated news, for my birthday I'm asking for an itunes card so I can buy the soundtrack. I can sing about half of act 1 at the moment, but buying the soundtrack will mean I won't have to use bandwidth on youtube videos to listen to it, meaning that by next year I'll be able to sing the entire show because I will listen to it constantly over the 6 week holidays
I said a worse version.
Also how's the new cast compared to the old one?
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
I can't stop listening to Quiet Uptown, Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story, Satisfied and Stay Alive.
I wish Charles Lee got more play. I liked hearing him sing.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."I find myself clinging to Lin-Manuel.
He's—he's perfect. Why is he such a perfect nerd. Why does he have so much energy? Why does he work so hard?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
I recently listened to the entire soundtrack through youtube; I was sucked in a few months ago by these Steven Universe fan-made music videos (warning: a LOT of Steven Universe spoilers, don't watch unless you've watched the show up until the Season 2 finale) but only got around to actually listening to it recently. I've fully learned like ten of the songs by heart now.
Edit: Woo, pagetopper; let's hope the thread is actually revived
