Went into the comics, and found this picture of Victoria:

So this is an appearance "trope"?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

Yes. Having pastel hair, pale skin, and usually red eyes, makes characters look different or evil and tend to be connected to undeath or vampires and such hence Evil Albino. This is defying those standards in a not evil character, quite often the character is expected to be evil till its revealed they are not.

I would say 90% of the examples are never officially stated to be Albino, the look alone is enough.

[up]Actually, that's way too broad. The tendency that albino characters as evil is a trope. Lumping "everything else that isn't an Evil Albino" together is not a trope.

Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold is a trope. Blondes Are Evil is (probably) a trope. Blondes that are somewhere in between is not a trope.

Well an Albino alone should be a trope in of itself, without any kind of alignment simply because it was a conscious choice write a character to be different with a visual trope that makes the character stand out as well as otherworldly.

In addition to the fact that they have a myriad of health issues that most works that feature one never actually touch on at all, the only one I know of is Dr Strangelove in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker who can't go outside in the sun without serious burns and always wears special sunglasses due to the fact that even casual light can burn her eyes.

But yeah, this trope is attracting a lot of examples that are simply 'decidedly not evil' as opposed to 'heroic', even the OP's image of Setzer isn't a 'heroic' person.

Made a crowner for the options.

Added a BUPKIS option, just in case.

Crowner's hooked, thanks. [tup] Right now, I think the Yukihara pics are the closest to actually visually representing the trope; everything else looks to be either just a pale-haired person (Rei being the exception, but I don't consider her a true albino) or is too indistinct to tell anything.

Another suggestion, seems more heroic than Elric to me, but along the same lines:

That guy looks EVIL as all hell especially with that expression and hood... It actually looks like a way better Evil Albino image than the image on that page.

I agree; without knowing the context I'd think that was a villain.

The best I could find is this fan art of Sakata Gintoki from Gintama.

[up]That looks pretty sinister as well, so I'm not keen on that.

And pics from the anime make him look like he just has really pale hair, so not keen on him overall.

I might be a bit late to the party, but how about the superhero Supreme? From his Alan Moore era, that is. He was kind of a reconstruction of the classical Superman tropes, in a post-Watchmen era.

Examples: 1 2 3 4

UPD: Added him to the crowner.

Looking at Supreme, I think he has the same trouble that I later identified with Luther/Victoria Arkwright: the skin has too much colour.

If you do an image search for albino/albinism, you find they have hardly any colour at all in their skin (maybe a red tone, from reflected blood).

Can we really do no better than "no image"? Come on.

You got a suggestion?

Actually, what about Kamui/Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates?

Female, Male.

Barring them, there's Geralt of Rivia.

[up] I was thinking of Kamui (either one works), actually. The other one might be a good candidate as well.

Probably because hotlinking wiki images shrinks them for some reason.

Maybe you can resize them bigger and it might work better.
